  1. That's what I thought but so it goes. I was trying to get some cash for a rare piece of gear that became available but, that ship has sailed. I will just keep and enjoy the CIII"s.
  2. The Cornwall III's are no longer for sale, thanks.

You know you're old when you complain about the "music" your grandkids are listening to and you constantly tell them to turn it down! Hmmmmm?
  4. 07/20/15, I got the waveguides today and mounted them in the holes. They look much better now IMHO. If I could find L-pads with a longer shaft, I may be able to mount them in the horn opening?
  5. The GE 12AX7A's are sold, 7687's still available.
  6. Here's some additional pictures. I forgot to mention, they do have consecutive serial numbers.
  7. If you must know, something else I have been wanting for a long time just became available and I need a bit of cash.
  8. are these the same ones you are selling- Unfortunately, yes but, I have something else that just became available and need a little cash.
  9. I'm offering my 09 Cornwall III's in walnut. They sound awesome as you can imagine. There are a couple of blemishes. I covered a bump on the top rear corner of one speaker. On the same speaker is a small circular water ring. Hard to notice unless you look for it. I think that's it cosmetically. Grills are very nice, no tears, maybe a light stain. Overall they are very nice. Local pick-up in Redding California, 96002. I may be able to meet or deliver within a reasonable distance for the right deal. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I will post more pictures later. I'm asking $1500.00, thanks.
  10. I have a pair of Sylvania 7687 tubes which are getting hard to find. They were NOS when I purchased them from a friend of mine who is a reputable collector and technician. They have the reputation as being the best of the 6U8, 6GH8 type phase splitters. I would like $60 for them including shipping via USPS Priority Mail, thanks.
  11. I have ordered a pair of Pyle waveguides to fill the holes. They will look more presentable but, it's the sound that will grab you! I wish I could keep them. I am open to partial trades for quality bookshelf speakers, a pair of RB-5's or RB-75's would be nice. I'm also looking for a quality CD player, preferably with SACD capability. Just need to move them before my better half puts them out on the sidewalk with a "FREE" sign on them. I will entertain any offers, thanks.
  12. Another satisfied customer!
  13. Thanks for the discussion guys, I appreciate it. To me, the mid-range is fine and well balanced with the high and low frequencies. I always thought there was a bit of a hole in the lower mid-range and upper bass frequencies of the original Cornwalls when compared say to a Forte' or Chorus II. I have no scientific information to back that up just experience with those speakers. It seems to me the C III does not have that hole.
  14. Well, it's my money and my speakers and if I want to "upgrade" them, I will. My question was, "I was wondering if anyone has done any crossover or other upgrades to this speaker?" I will break it down a little better. Are there any Cornwall III owners that have made any modifications to the original design and, if so, what were the results? I do love the sound but, if I can make them sound even a bit better without a ton of investment, I would consider it. I have read some have had success with additional internal bracing. They may also benefit from more sound dampening material? Just looking for input from fellow C III owners.

You know you're old when your 9 year old granddaughter has to show you how to use your new smartphone. What the hell do I need this new-fangled thing for anyway??? The last thing you learn is how to make a phone call!
  16. I kinda' figured they cured most of the perceived ills of the earlier designs which I have had. To me they sound as good if not better and I find the C III's more forgiving with modern SS gear. I just bought a new Yamaha A-S701 integrated amp and they are a great combination. I guess Bob will not be getting any business from me for awhile.
  17. I recently acquired a pair of Cornwall III's and love the sound. I was wondering if anyone has done any crossover or other upgrades to this speaker? If so, was it worth the effort? Thanks
  18. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition, I got my amp! The owners of the delivery home got back from vacation tonight and called me. Apparently the girl watching their house took the amp inside on Thurs. shortly after it was delivered. She did get the note I left that evening but didn't call because she didn't want anyone to know the owners were away????? When I picked up the amp, the note I wrote was taped to the box directly under the shipping label. My note had my name, address and phone number with a brief description of what happened. Guess what, the shipping label that was right above my note had my name, address and phone number on it, WTF??? I didn't bother to let the owner know what I thought of her friend. I haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. Mama's leaving tomorrow for a couple of days. The Yammy' will be broke in nicely when she gets home! Thanks for all the props guys, you're the best!
  19. I ordered the A-S701 integrated amp. I have a 501 that I use in my modest living room system and like it a lot. I'm getting tired of tubes even though they sound great with Klipsch speakers in general. I wanted something more modern, with a remote, that I don't have to worry about if I accidently leave it on. I did hook up the 501 to my Cornwall III's and it was a great sounding combination. That's when I made the decision to try the 701. It has a few more features than the 501 that I like. Of course you pay more money for it but I just sold some gear and made out very well. For the money, I can highly recommend the A-S501.
  20. Childish? No, not at all. You're not the only person to be expecting something great, then get disappointed. Your reaction is no different from the other kids in this video. Hello Kitty, I hope this makes you feel better. Thank you for that, it made my day and I do feel better! I don't care who you are, that's funny!
  21. I did expect he would come by as we have had several conversations and some common interests. I was just surprised that he was the one that made the wrong delivery. For me it was the anticipation of getting a brand new piece of gear. I purposely stayed home so I would be there when it arrived. I dug out some of my better inter-connects and speaker cable. I re-arranged the rack so I would have a nice empty space in the center for it to be displayed. Decided to move the speakers to different positions, I was ready. Then, the disappointment and a bit of anger when it arrived, just not at my house! It does sound a bit childish huh? Like the kid at Christmas who was expecting a Daisy BB gun and got a plastic dart gun instead. "You could put an eye out with that thing!" I'm to the point that I really don't want it anymore. To quote BB King, RIP, "The thrill is gone!" I think when all the dust settles, I will ask for a refund and move on to something else.
  22. The driver came by today with many, many apologies. The first thing he said to me was. "I'm ready for my *** chewing!" Turned out he is the regular driver for my area and I guess he had a bad/busy day. OK. I get that, I have had more days like that than I care to count. But, he has delivered countless packages here and knows the issues I had before. I do know the other two packages that were delivered to the wrong address were other drivers. Still nothing on the amp. The note I left on the door is gone but no phone call. I did leave another note but I am not very optimistic. Looks like I will be at UPS Monday filling out some forms.
