  1. EASLIY, Chris squire of Yes. Listen to Close To The Edge. Actually ANY Yes album, Enough said.
  2. Wheres a good place to start with his solo offerings? Ron
  3. I have a Glass Harp double CD called "Stark Raving Jams" with the great Mr. Keaggy on it. Its awesome. Guess I'll have to try some of his solo offerings now. I like the fact he's a Christian also. Ron
  4. I'm listening to a "classic" right now, Yes-Relayer on CD, Progressive rock, of course. The first track,"Gates of Delirium" a 22 minute epic is amazing, Yes never sounded better. The original LP only had 3 tracks. Gates took up one side and "Sound Chaser" along with "To Be Over" took up the other. The CD has 3 bonus tracks that are basically filler, But the original 3 more than make up for it. If you don't know this CD, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Ron
  5. Doh, How could I forget, Pain Of Salvation, if you like progressive metal, like Dream Theater. Ron
  6. Glad you liked them, Neo Prog Groups would be: Kaipa-Notes from the past Neal Morse-Testimony (christian prog, AMAZING, used to be with Socks Beard) Arena-Peppers Ghost Explorers Club-Age of Impact The Tangent-The Music that Died Alone Salem Hill-Be Pendragon-As Good As Gold Enchant-Juggling 9 or dropping 10 Old Scool prog: Camel-Snow Goose(instrumental) Strawbs-Ghosts Happy The Man-Live(instrumental) Dixie Dreggs-Live (instrumental) The Moody Blues Of course theres Genesis up to and including "The Lamb lies Down on broadway" Yes ELP Marillion Porcupine Tree The Flower Kings Hope this helps, ENJOY Ron
  7. By the way. Big Left Turn?????? Who/What are they?
  8. October 27th at The Engine Room, wish I could make it. Too far. I just saw where south Houston has a mandatory evacuation set for Thursday. Good luck and remember you have a place up north here if you need it. They're saying we may have tornado's Sunday, good grief. I'll try the worldchanger CD, have you heard, Solaris? Amazon wants a $$$$ for the CD, supposed to be very good however. Ron

  10. Prog LIVES. Usually a bunch of us old guys keeping it alive. I really never got into prog metal until recently. I really enjoy Dream theater, Savatage and the like. On a side note I pray you guys in Houston will be ok. If you need to evacuate you have a place to stay up here in Denton. Take care Ron Ron, By the way, I did all my jazz study's in Denton, Texas @ the North Texas State University Jazz College back in 1977-78. It has since then be renamed the Universisty of North Texas. All I can say is that you are living in the jazz meca of the whole planet. That university is world reknown for jazz players. Have you taken advantage of that school and checked out their seminars or free concerts? ...a fellow North Texas Alumni, Craig LeMay Oh yea!! My wife and I take in about 10 concerts a year. I did some studies at UNT. GREAT engineering school, very underated. Don't see much Prog up in these parts[] Porcupine Tree is playing in Houston in October but its 5 hours away and these old bones hate to sit that long[] have you heard Ark-Burn the Sun, just picked it up yesterday. 20. I'm not too far behind ya, I was 15 back then. I was an idiot in 1975. My favorite band was... Kiss. Thought that Genesis and Floyd were too slow, not enougfht blazing guitar solos. Sure wish I could go back to '75 and slap that guy, mised some amazing shows. Although I did see Rush during the 2112 tour. I was a classic rock guy. Saw Aerosmith, Foghat, Nazareth, Nugent, Cheap Trick, Santana,Springsteen and many others that have been lost due to.....time, yea thats it, time. Thanks for the invite, I get up that way once a year (Portland). Your CD's went out yesterday, noonish Ron
