Michael, since you gave up the challenge, you're supposed to re-post. ..... But you left us and walked away.... Veeerrrry Bad! []
Okay, guys. Try this:
"I used to wake up in the morning
I used to feel so bad
I got so sick of having sleepless nights
I went and told my dad
He said, 'Son now here's some little something'
And stuck them on my wall
And now my nights ain't quite so lonely
In fact I, I don't feel bad at all"
Name that Tune!

Michael, how about a hint? Just something like info on a band member, a tour date, or anything clever that you think would be a good clue.
-
Ah, Olorin, once again. Plus ca Change, Plus C'est la Meme Chose!
Ray, yours is "Locomotive Breath."
Next:
"Did you find
your directing sign
on the straight and narrow highway
Would you mind a reflecting sign
Just let it shine
within your mind
and show you, the colors
that are real "
Name that Tune!

More lyrics of the same song:
"Some fought themselves, some fought each other
Most just followed one another
Lost and aimless like their brothers
For their hearts were so unclear
And the truth could not appear"
Name that Tune!
EDIT: See the rhyme pattern? You could fill in the blank after each of these two versus to get the album's name.

"Born to Run" - I love that song!!!
Next:
"The universe divided
As the heart and mind collided
With the people left unguided
For so many troubled years
In a cloud of doubts and fears"
Name that Tune!

Here's one from some 70's Brit rockers
The sky is red
I don't understand
past midnight
I still see the land
People are saying the woman is damned....
Michael
Michael, you, my friend, are so welcome to join in on the fun. I was hoping for awhile that you might. Well, your guess of my tune was close. The tune was "Questions 67 and 68." But I'm so glad to see you join that your "close" guess is good enough. The rules are on the 1st page, 1st post. Yours is the current challenge. Stay tuned.

I thought this one would be easy. So, here's a hint, along with a re-posting of the lyrics:
Hint: The lead singer of this horn-heavy band went on to a solo career. The song is off the band's debut double-LP released in 1969. It rocks!
Lyrics:
"I'd like to know
Can you tell me; please don't tell me
It really doesn't matter anyhow
It's just that the thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind, as a beautifully mysterious thing"
Name that Tune!

"Light My Fire."
We're moving, now!
"I'd like to know
Can you tell me; please don't tell me
It really doesn't matter anyhow
It's just that the thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind, as a beautifully mysterious thing"
Name that Tune!

Oops! Guess it was close enough. "Abbey Road" HAS to be in the TOP 10 albums of all time. Roger Waters could never hold a candle to it. No offense, Max. []
Anyway...
"Pulling into Katmandu
Smoke rings fill the air
Perfumed by a Nepal night
The Express gets you there"
-
Beatles "Carry that Weight."
Next:
"Pulling into Katmandu
Smoke rings fill the air
Perfumed by a Nepal night
The Express gets you there"

What was the complete last line of Max's lyrics?
-
Okay, Max. I've been looking and repeating those lyrics a good number of times. I am wanting to say I've heard this, but I can't place it - especially on the greatest rock album ever. Sounds 80's-ish. Is the album a compilation of various bands or a single band?
-
Unfortunately I don't live remotely close to Yonkers, NY.
I certianly want the warranty too. It's just that I think I can still save a hundred bucks or so on what my local dealer offered.
$1800 for a pair of RF7's.
For a hundred bucks, save shipping woes, warranty headaches, and make a friend locally. There's nothing like having a local stereo outfitter who can answer all your questions and take care of you should something needs fixing (which is pretty rare around here).
$100 is 5% of the sale price, big deal, buy locally...maybe you can show him the ad and talk him to a compromise.
Michael
Yes. Michael's right. For $100, go local. I wouldn't risk buying the product site unseen and hoping it gets shipped, and hoping it doesn't get damaged, etc. just to save $100. I would go to my local guy, listen to the pair I am buying, make my deal and load them myself - safe, secure and happy. []

This is Cosmos 1 calling Cosmos 2. Cosmos 2, do you read me? []
Never heard of it, but maybe if I heard the tune, it might jog a memory.
-
Max is right. "Mr. Blue Sky." Ray, it was like a "Wheel of Fortune" hint - ELO is alphabetized in my CD collection before ELP.
Anybody know the answer to Max's new challenge?
-
I guess Jackson and Ray are out to lunch. This one should be fairly easy. I put this band barely ahead of Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
-
2 months if they hauled a**. But rarely does anyone have enough money to make a contractor do a good job that fast. So... April sounds good.
-
To keep this thread moving, here's the next challenge:
"But soon comes Mr. Night,
Creepin' over, now his
Hand is on your shoulder,
Never mind I'll remember you this way."
Name that Tune!
-
Michael, looks like you're having way too much fun up there! []
I really don't want to go back to work today. [] I think I'll just retire. [] ... Not. []
-
Okay, try this: "Obla Di, Obla Da. Life goes on." []
Ray, it's your turn.
-
Why not use wood? Just cut it to size and screw in the frames to it.

I ought to be ashamed, but the Wal-Mart cheapies are just fine. Progressive Scan is a feature that is essential to avoid the pixelation problems.

Hey, that was pretty good!

Olorin, you're up.

Okay, let's get back on track. Michael, you're up. Post your challenge.
