  1. Thanks Indy.

I thought I saw some dicussion about having it at a different time. Just wanted to be sure.

I'll put in for that Friday and Monday.

I'm not sure why I'm doing this, but I'm trying to get the wife to come along too.

She doesn't care about speakers and such, but I thought she might like to meet D-Tel's Wife (Christy) and some of you other guys. Maybe she'll get interested. [;)]

    Hope to see everyone there!

  2. Roy, I think Bob has the B&C driver (presuming I've got the right brand). He doesn't have the K-69. Don't know if that makes a differece in your comments or not. If it's not "B&C", he has what I belive to be the 'other brand' you had in Indy, what ever it is.

    Richard,

    You've got a good memory.

I checked and they are indeed B&C KPT904's.

I have no idea how they compare to K-69's, but I can tell you this: They sound DARN GOOD! [:D]

    Bob

  3. Roy,

Perhaps you've done this already and I missed it. If so, I apologize in advance.

Would you please give us a comparison between the 402 and 510 drivers?

What sonic differences might one expect to hear between the two?

    Thanks.

  4. Craig,

If you'd like, you are welcome to come to my house in Bay City and give my Jubes a listen.

They do have the 510 horns, and I'm sure my room acoustics are far from perfect. However, IMO they sound much better than my KHorns.

How much of that has to do with room setup, electronics, etc. I don't know.

I'm far from an expert, but I know what I like.[;)]

Let me know if you're interested.

    Bob

  5. How about a class to teach us heathens who don't know any better HOW to listen critically? I know what I like when I hear it but I am not "trained" in critical listening skills. This would really help make the REST of the weekend be of more value!

    Amen, Brother!

I think my Jubes sound GREAT with passive crossovers, but apparently I'm wrong. [;)]

I'd like to find out what I'm missing.

  6. On Friday from 5-9 ( 9 being when the alarm sets and we have to be out) would be for "tranning" Roy telling how to "what ever Roy know how to do" OR Bob G teaching "audio 101"

The Friday night mixer could still take place. Heck, for the most part that party did not start jumpin until 9pm anyway.

Larry your "class" could take place on Sat afternoon. We can pick a room from what we have set up. We have to be out of the office by 5pm on Sat.

Then dinner / meeting for 2-3 hours.

IF a party is planed, then SAT NIGHT can change to what ever.

Its all still very open. We have had only 1 meeting early in the year on the subject.

    Trey,

Has the museum been moved to Indy yet? If so, will we be able to tour it on Saturday (daytime)?

If not, what are the chances it'll be ready by next June?

    Bob

  7. Doubt you could be convinced...

Why don't we do this since.... clearly they're only 'decent' sounding at best. (as per Craig, who's never heard them) I offer you the following...

I'll pay you exactly TWICE what you paid for them and take them off your hands!

    It's a GOOD deal for you (trust me...would I lie?) [^o)]

And an "ok" deal for me....[:^)]

I'm willing to do it because I respect you.

    [A]

Oh, i trust you...and that sure sounds like a great deal alright.

Alas, I promised Trey he would have dibs on them if I ever sell them.

Guess I'd better just hang on to them so no one's feelings get hurt. [:D]

  8. I would like to hear an A/B comparison between passive and electronic crossovers (same speakers, same listening position, everything else the same).
Just switch between the two different types of crossovers.

Of course, I'd prefer it be done with a pair of Jubes. [;)]

I need to be "convinced" that my Jubes could sound even better with the time delays zeroed out.

  9. Apologies to the Hope-voters, but it will be held in Indy again this year, likely June. We are planning on hosting more extensive training and educational opportunities, which are tightly integrated to the facility and staff here.

I understand many of you will be disappointed, but the decision is final.

I'm just thrilled there continues to be such a high level of interest. [:)]

Ouch, that is terrible news.[+o(] Main reason of course is the location since a pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred place or shrine of importance to a person's beliefs and faith, which, without question, is Hope.

Things that would entice me to journey to Indie would be:

    1. K-horn's vs. Jubilee's vs. Palladium.

    2. Tubes vs. SS.
    3. Vinyl vs. CD's vs. SACD's.

    4. Expensive speaker wire and interconnects vs. inexpensive wire.
    5. Ten easy and inexpensive steps to improve the acoustics and listening experience in your home.
    6. How to repair the finish on old Klipsch speakers.
    7. How to restore the sound of old Klipsch speakers.
    8. A chance to listen to some of the lesser Klipsch speakers.

    9. Couple of laps around the old brickyard.

    10. Be a guaranteed winner of a fabulous Klipsch door prize.

    Great choice of topics, Ron.

Colter's new barn, a barrel of Sam Adams...sounds like a great start to a great weekend!

Indy is starting to sound pretty good.

    Getting excited already. [;)]
