    Good post

Different AVR's, my money would be on a no.

Different flavors of crap still = crap........

    Shakey

AVRs to me have so much jitter. Then if you are using a jittery digital source the listening fatigue is even worse.

I have not used an AV receiver or preamp since 2011 and then it was only for movies.

  2. I see allot of eagles since I bought the farm in 2009. Only in the winter. My family and I infer they somewhat migrate to our are from northern Michigan or Canada. Sightings are rare in the summer.

Oddly enough today I had a rare sighting at dawn of a Great Horned Owl flying away from me at 200 yards.

Like a 25 pound snapping turtle with wings and talons. Got close to one 5 years ago.

I ended up buying the 650C.  The independent DACs for each channel and online reviews helped.  Thanks for the suggestion Bill!  Looking forward to getting it.

Yes, I'm a rare individual who still listens to CDs.  It will be nice to discover my collection again!  My RB-5s have opened up a whole new world of sound so it will be awesome to expand it even more.

Eons ago I lead shot filled my Sanus stands. Heavy mass stands tightened up the mid bass. Still use the stands and RB5S for remote parties.

    ROOM, ROOM, ROOM
My beloved Belles fell short in this house
New KHorns didn't work (even with enclosed backs)

Cornwall IIIs are working pretty darn good

What would Forte IIIs do? I wonder.

Room and amplification. My inference is people who perceive Belle's as bass shy never heard them with VRD or other quality tube amplification. My long wall is 24 feet and my back wall is 50% plus open minimizing reflections.

There was a mod presented on this forum you could do to the LS by extending and porting on its bottom, perhaps this technique may also be applied to the Belle...not sure how it would look though? I believe it got the LS down to 35hz in the right room

To risk my first demerit this is nuts. Porting a folded horn will have unintended consequences. I would just add a small M&K or other sealed sub crossed over at 50-80 hz depending on the room and Belle placement. My 12 inch sealed sub has been in storage since 2010.

I maybe miss a sub on 2% of my music library. Classical music featuring powerful groovy organ. Some progressive rock perhaps at times as well.

Good for you.  I am all steel and cast iron, both because they do the best job and because they are induction burner friendly. Induction plus magnetic metals equals cooking magic with almost instant response to adjustments. I can wok now without a 40k BTU gas burner with a flat bottom steel wok. I can simmer chili and such with zero concerns about sticking. No aluminum for this cook anymore!

    Dave

I only use aluminum coated for fried eggs or grilling a sandwich.

Cast iron for Dutch Ovens is addictive.

Also consider a stainless steel electric pressure. AWESOME!

Wolverines and Spartans each got what they deserved.  No more dreams of a #1 seed for Sparty.

I am wondering what you think about the 33 free throws to 10 free throws disparity?

I will have to look at the game again, but I never like the foul call disparity when everyone is banging each other. Langford poor shooting for the two guard was very bad. Jackson needs to take mid range jumpers.

What did Ward do to get in the Izzo doghouse?

  8. For certain B B King is the most legendary I ever saw. My wife loved the 5 or 6 shows we saw with him.

    Then there are legendary concerts.

    1. Neil Young and Stephen Stills at Pine Knob in Detroit one of 6 shows. Neil quit the tour. They were mad at each other and the dueling guitar leads were wild.

    2. Peter Gabriel tour with "Shock the Monkey" no cymbals on the drum kit. (in the round in the 1990s was excellent as well.

    3. "Heatwave" new wave festival at a dirt race track north of Toronto 1980 or so. Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, B 52s, Pretenders, Rockpile, Graham Parker and others. Talking heads had part of the Funkadelics with them, B 52s danced on stage with the T heads.

    4. Several Neil Young shows. Rust Never Sleeps fall 1978 and Third best Garage Band in the World Tour to name two.

are you using the high current sockets for the VRDs?

I am not really sure what switched and non switched mean in the amplifier section of the sockets.

    Yes

I just hit the white button to defeat the switched function. I leave it on all the time and turn each component off.

I just got one 10 days ago. Makes the VRDs really go lower and deeper on sound stage. Better instruments in their place and fullness of mass strings. I will be writing a review.

Yea I think the shit is about ready to hit the fan!

It is just the mess the 'lack of civilization' has become. Trust the notes of a criminal? Guilty until proven innocent? $ 400 is far less than other players took. 'Implication' is his mother took the money not Miles.

It is a big ugly mess.

Are you using a sub with your Fortes?

If you don't need a remote there are excellent sounding vintage receivers / integrated amps out there. That Marantz ND8006 has variable RCA outs so volume can be controlled there while using a vintage piece.

I'm very happy with my stock Chorus IIs.

RN I was happy as well but ecstatic with new capacitors in the networks.
