    I agree, sort of . . .

Each summer I’m surprised how good Klipsch Heritage sound outdoors.  Sure low bass is all but nonexistent, due to the absence of room gain, but the absence of reflections makes the rest of the musical spectrum sound magical, at least to these septuagenarian ears.

Dark Rambler, your open space is so open as to possibly mimic the outdoor experience.  All that really matters is that you’re able to enjoy the music.

My long wall room has a 4 foot halway in the back left and 10 foot open wall on the back right to the open dining room. Third house as of 2010 was the charm for minimizing reflections.

Not disagreeing with you on this either.  Just wanted to see if there are any out there used :)

Unlikely. Digital and SS gear can be money losers. Except for the maybe RB5s my Klipsch speakers have all held their value the past 20 years.

It was; Ginger Baker was so drugged up though, he couldn't stop drumming and they literally had to carry him off stage, he was sweating buckets. Might have been part of the reason the group didn't make it for long.

GB has not done much since that I recall.

    General info,

relatively speaker, assuming the builder and/or refurbishing is done correctly, are they know for being a strong and reliable amp?

Is the phono stage anything special? if so why?

any quirks they tend to have? so i can avoid making any mistakes

How complicated or simple are they to work on?

not super crazy queestions, like my post says, I just want to learn more about it.

In my 20 years of recent listening to tube phono sections the Scott implementation of 12ax7 is impressive for its day. Unless you visualize analog circuits at a high level and do not mind the risk of ruining the amp....get in line at NOS Valves for a rebuild from a technician with few equals.

  5. Was involved in some Jubes reading on FB.

Much of my wood furniture compliments the Belles.

At this point in life the beauty of the room is important to the listening experience.

My wife has never seen K Horns except in photos. To be continued...

My 2A3 PP amplifier, designed and built by Jeff Lessard will be my last amp.

As I recall you have had this amp for a few years. So nice to settle in equipment that just encourages a person to buy and listen to music.

One question please.......since the OP is looking to try a tube pre and ss amps...................I know nothing about tubes.

A few years ago someone here told me if either the pre or amp would be tubes and the other SS, it was a bigger difference if the pre was tubes.  Is this true ?

For phono stage perhaps. In my limited experience I never met a SS phono stage I was crazy about.
