Thanks Bill. I checked his website and the K-77 tweeter diaphragms are no longer available. Any suggestions?

Hi, I have a pair of Walnut Cornwalls ( model #CDR15, serial #2J117) and one of the tweeters has failed. I think these were built in the early 70's and I was hoping that original replacements might still be available for the tweeter and/or crossover. If this is not an option can the tweeter or crossover be rebuilt? Does anyone know the part number of the tweeters and crossovers? I really like these speakers and the music does'nt sound nearly as good with a blown tweeter. Thanks for your help, Rockwell (Jimbo)

michael, why is it that when i was 15 years old these speakers looked old to me and now they look ahead of their time?
-
bob, i would like to talk to you in the not too distant future about crossovers, etc.is this acceptable to you? thanks, rockwell

m ichael, i appreciate your help-you were one of the guys who guided me in the proper direction.are you telling me that i need to take off the back panel and pull the driver mounting board through the back of the cabinet to remove the grille?this looks to be the proper solution-i just hoped it would be easier than that. these speakers will be in my garage and i want to wall mount them for physical protection and to keep the floor open for easy cleaning.i know this sounds goofy but i'd really like to try it. thanks, rockwell

thankyou larry and bill, would either of you know the proper procedure for removing the grill? i appreciate your help very much, rockwell

i recently purchased a pair of used cornwalls and they sound great! i am glad i heeded your collective advice.the serial no.'s are cdr 15,2j117&2j118 verticals.can i determine their age from this and what would happen sonically if i mounted them on a wood framed, thermally insulated sheetrocked wall. once again thank you very much, rockwell

jolida jdioooa amp & lascala/belle-cornwalls
rockwell replied to rockwell's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
that is good advice but at $4200.00 is steep-however i may blow my budget and buy new, which is not as much fun but less risky. -
i am inerested in purchasing lascala/belle or cornwalls w/walnut finish in excellent coondition.i live in area code 23606,virginia and want to avoid high shipping costs.there is a nice set of cornwalls in texas on ebay but shipping is over $200.00 and i also worry about damage. thanks for all the help, rockwell

what would be good speakers in the $800-$2000 range, used or new for a jolida jd1000a tube amp, disregarding size? thanks, rockwell

i own a jolida jd1000a tube amp and i am thinking about buying a pair of vintage cornwalls or something similar.i presntly use polk i9's which i think are to small and slightly sterile in sound.any suggestions of any types of speakers is welcomed as i am long out of the stereo "loop". thanks, rockwell
