  1. would that system work, or would i have any timbre matching problems, etc..? I use the system for 80% music and 20% HT. I am happy with my current B-3 system, but if i ca sell it and upgrade to reference for maybe a 200 dollar difference, i will definately do so.
  2. The reason is that those are the speakers i get accomodation on.
  3. the HK is rated at 50x7. I am only going to be running a 5.1 setup. Will it actually be able to push more to the 5 channels, or is there a limiter or something?
  4. Currently, I own the Synergy B-3 system, and am very pleased with it. I am looking, though, to upgrade. Currently, as many of you know, Magnolia started to carry part of the Klipsch line. This is good for me, because I now get accommodation on the reference series and plan to buy a system. Also, I just began to get accommodation on HK receivers, so I am looking to order one of those. Do you think that this system would match well sonically, have enough power from the receiver, etc... RF-62 RC-52 RS-42 RW-12d Harmon AVR-245 Monster power HTS 1600 (because I get it for half and it's stackable) or would I be better off going with the entire synergy F-3 system? from what I have looked at the reference definitely seems like the better choice.
  5. I actually own the Synergy B-3 system and am a big fan of it. I also work for Best Buy . If size is a problem and the 1000 dollar mark is good, I have a plan. Currently Best Buy is still offering an unadvertised deal with Klipsch and Yamaha. You get the quintents, sub-10, Yamaha HTR-5940 and Yamaha upconvert dvd player(not sure the model, but we sell it for 180) for a grand. I would check to see if it is available at your BB store. I sell alot of thsoe systems and also install them in peoples houses and am very impressed with them for HT. For music they are not as solid. Like Isaid, I own the b-3 system and Ilike it alot. Although, I plan on upgrading to reference in a few weeks.
  6. I am personally a big fan of the supercubes and bi-polars intrigue me. Still, I do really like klipsch. I'm thinkiing I might have to mosey on over to minneapolis and pick up a pair of RF-82's
  7. i just do happen to work at BB.
  8. they do still carry them. Tell the Best Buy employee to go log onto Toolkit, go into RSS, click on advanced search and under supplier type in Klipsch, there you will find the S-3 surrounds. I don't know why they aren't online anymore.
  9. It seems I have miss spoken here. Let me state, "My decision on marriage is infinitly more important than that of HT." The reason all of this is seemingly "hooped" is because everything is still in my head. This is a speaker forum, not eharmony, my fault. Anyway, back to the original question, what would be a fair asking price for the system?
  10. I am a big fan of the 1015 personally. One of the features I like is Pioneers MCACC, although many people around here will say that is a gimmik. You shouldn't need any more power....Why do you ask? Definitely go with the sub-12, very necessary
  11. you will need to buy the hi-def cables for the ps2 and an optical cable for surround. the 360 comes with component but no optical. you will definitely have to buy speaker wire, don't be fooled by all of the marketing on more expensive speaker wire. If you are running in wall and having an electrician come out make sure to get something CL3 rated to meet fire code. If you aren't having an inspector/electrician than run whatever you want.
  12. I was thinking, if future budget permitting, I would get some good reference mains, cd player, and amp because I barely have time to sit down and watch a movie, and I would have less time in the future. Music on the other hand, I can listen to any time.....I still almost feel violated for some reason bringing up information so personal on a speaker forum.
  13. ........My current girlfriend. I might get Engaged to her and then proceed to get married after the Engagment. I am sure glad she doesn't read this forum
  14. Very true. One of my reasons for selling everything is that i might get ingaged and married and move to minneapolis and live in a studio appt.. Don't tell my girl friend. Good thing she doesn't read this forum.
  15. It is coming closer to the time I want to sell my HT and hopefully upgrade. this has been my first HT sell nd upgrade so i am loooking for some advice. Mostly, how to advertise and what price to ask All of my equipment ist about 10 months ago and old. There are no scratches or any flaws. I am selling, as a whole, the following: [current manufacturer/Best Buy listings] B-3 system: $1,480 [manufacturer] Yammaha 5840: $349.95 [manufacturer] 150 ' AR Pro II 16 guage speaker cable: $75.00[bB] AR pro II 15' sub cable: $34.99 [bB] 2 speaker stands: $95.00 [bB] 2 wall mounts: $ 30 [bB] Total: about $2050, if you get slightly ripped off. Anyway, how much would you recommend selling this for?
  16. --ignore-- --double-- --sorry--
  17. So...what kind of money am I looking at for a decent 2 channel amp that would couple well with a Denon or a used HK or maybe a used Denon. Infact, is e-bay the only place to find good used equipment. There isn't anything where i live. ps- i believe "How many wpc do i need" would be much more correct than "what Wpc do i need" oops
  18. I am now out of my range of knowledge. I know reciever brands and can easily pickout differences in recievers but I have never dealt with seperate amps. Is there a I site I can go to that will give me the basics on what to look for in a seperate amp, what brands are good etc..
  19. Sorry, i forgot to give background to my rant. I just had just finished reading a forum on audioholics where many people could say enough bad things about the Synergy line. Raider, you are very right about the convenience. Most people have no idea more expensive stuff exists or have ever heard of Timbre matchinf or have any idea that Bose isn't the best speaker made. I had a customer a few weeks ago go on and on about how Bose is the best speaker made, period, so imagine how blow away he was when listening to the klipsch. I suppose the bottom line is if the customer likes the product. We actually run good deals alot of the time. Last week you could buy and speaker system 2,000 and up and get 15% off.
  20. Most of you know that I work at Best Buy. I have snooped around online enough to see a general respect for klipsch reference series. I have also read 2 things about the Synergy series. Either, it seems, 90% of the time people either love or hate them. I notice all the people that love them own them and most of the people that hate them have only listened to them in Best Buy. When I listen to any of them in Best Buy they have a major lack of mids, very harsh highs and the sub is always turned up too loud. They sound bad. When i go home and listen I like them alot. Yesterday i demoed a CD that i thinmk is recorded very well "The Everglow" by Mae. The second track sound awsome at home, the piano sounds like it is right infront of me. At Best Buy it sounded very bad, infact, i wish i wouldn't have shown the customer. Basically, I think the Synergy lne is a good line of speakers and most of the people that really don't like them have only listened to them in the store and I would challenge some of "those" poeple to listen to them when they are properly setup. They aren't perfect, and i would rather reference in the same price, but they by no means are bad speakers in and of themselves. Anyway, that was my little rant. agree, disagree?
  21. To keep in my budget could I power my center and surround with a reciever and just use a sperate amp for my mains using the pre outs on my reciever? or would the main sound different since they are being powered by a different amp than the rest of my speakers?
  22. the 1970 claims to do 85x7 and I will currently be running a 5.1 setup because i don't have room for a 7.1. I personally think 7.1 is worth the money because i really enjoy the sound behind me. Anyway, if I am only driving 5 speakers and it claims 85x7 than I would figure that it would work well. My current yamie sounds harsh at tmes, but with the 5960 do you think that the ypoa would get rid of that?
