  1. Actually Dr Who I think we have at least two members with Cornwall III's. Or one member who has already received thier Cornwall III's and one member who is waiting for thier Cornwall III's to arrive. BTW, I posted a little story under General Questions, 333. Thanks for the congrats. I am trying to work with CycloneCJ, he has offered to put them up on his website as he has plenty of extra storage, then we can post two links, one for high speed and one for dial up users of the forum. If it doesn't work I'll let you know and thanks for the offer. You guys are going to love the pics from the plant. Once again, Klipsch went out of thier way to satisfy our request for signatures. Not only did they fulfill our request, they went above and beyond by photographing the entire build, putting names with faces on the pics and providing us with a disc to share the pics with everyone. Ms. Donna did tell me in one of the earlier emails that she "was personally seeing the speakers down the line". Once you see the pics it is obvious that she did just that. I have to say, we now have eight Klipsch speakers in our living room, (plus the sub woofer) thank goodness we completed the addition before our addiction to Klipsch began. Like my kids would say, "It's all good".
  2. This post is not meant to be religious in nature, draw your own conclusions. Dtel's father died six years ago. Our oldest grandchild, a boy, Buddy was born six years to the day dtel's dad died on July 26, 2000. Right after Buddy's birth dtel and I both would awaken in the middle of night on different nights. After about three weeks of dtel being awakened he mentioned the episodes to me. He told me it was always 3:33 a.m.. I got immediately got goose bumps and told him the same thing and the same time had been happening to me. From there it seemed like the number 333 appeared routinely. A lot of times the appearance of the number could be directly linked to his father. In addition, dtel's mother was one of three children (girls), dtel was one of three children (1 boy, 2 girls) dtel and I had three children (girls). At the time of these revelations we had three granchildren (1 boy, three girls). The number 333 has continued to show up at the strangest times, and again most of the time it is something that we feel his dad would have been involved in one way or another. When dtel and I were first married dtel built a pair of speakers according to some specifications for the "perfectly balanced" speakers. Dtel's dad was a superior craftsman. He loved to build anything from wood. Doll cabinets, quilt racks, CD racks, toy chests, cradles, both doll size and life size, etc. Anyway, dtel's dad closely supervised the building of these speakers, as he did with other wood projects dtel took on (the mahogany entertainment center, our first waterbed, etc) Jump forward...dtel is the third person to win a pair of speakers being given away by Klipsch, he won Cornwall III's, Hope, Arkansas is located off Exit 30, on Interstate 30. Here's the kicker, the speakers dtel and his dad built were almost identical in size to our new Cornwall III's with a few minor differences in the components and bass. Dtel and I discussed this on our way to the plant Friday morning to pick up the new Cornwall III's and I thought it was something worth sharing.
  3. If I am reading your post correctly it appears congrats are in order. Hope you enjoy your new Cornwalls as much as we are enjoying ours. BTW, West Virginia is beautiful. The landscape of the state is awesome.
  4. The addition of our new Cornwall III's to the house and of course, comparing the Cornwalls to the Forte II's leads me to this question? How many of you have ever had the opportunity to audition the Forte II's? Your impressions, if any? Comparison to Cornwalls?
  5. Notice the border on the certificate, it has horns all around the edge. The names on the certificate correspond with the pics on the CD. This is like the coolest thing anyone can have. Knowing the history of Klipsch, the durability and reliability the Heritage line, combined with this documentation makes me realize how short life really is. It is entirely possible that the Cornwall III's, the two pair of Forte II's, and the pair of Forte's will one day be passed on to our children. Speaking of which, I have to say I am still extremely fond of the Forte II's. For those of you who have not ever listened to a pair of Forte II's you might really be surprised. Ms. Donna with Klipsch/Hope Plant told us she had a pair of Forte II's that she had not "even hooked up" in the past five years. I think she said she had them in a closet. I told her she might not want to give dtel any ideas because he might try to buy them from her. Ms. Donna said she had a pair of Fortes and sold them to buy the Forte II's. She said although she loves the Forte II's she wished she wouldn't have sold the Fortes. I couldn't believe she didn't have the speakers hooked up! She also said her daughter bought a pair of the Cornwall III's and they helped her set them up. Ms. Donna said, "the Cornwall's were awesome. I was shocked."
  6. I am not sure how this will turn out. I think the document is worth giving it a try. Hey, Skonopa check this out and thanks for the suggestion of getting everyone who worked on the build to sign the backs. The Cornwall III backs are painted black, so this was done by the folks at the factory. Here goes:
  7. After meeting with Ms. Donna at the Klipsch plant, we went to the Klipsch Distribution Center in Hope to pick up our new Cornwall III's. There were lots of boxes with the Jamo logo at the Klipsch Distribution Center. I am not sure what was in the boxes, but there were lots of Jamo boxes. Looks like Klipsch is up and running with Jamo.
  8. I have forty two pics from the factory build of the Cornwall III's and several of them set up in our home. I could narrow the factory build pics down to 10 or 12 pics probably, plus four or five from our home. That is still fourteen to seventeen pics. Even with proper resizing, I don't want everyone to get "antsy" waiting for the pics to come up on the forum. I know a lot of folks do not have high speed Internet. What do you guys think I should do? Is there some photo sharing space on another site I can use and put a link on a post in the forum. Maybe I should just send a copy of all the pics to someone more knowledgeable about posting pics. The factory build is really something to see. The amount of hands on work that goes into the Heritage line is awesome. Hey, for those of you that attended the Pilgrimage, the Cornwall III's went through the new paint booth!
  9. If you have any comments or suggestions on the sizing please let me know before I post anymore pics.
  10. Okay, I am going to give the pics a shot. I will start at the beginning of the pics provided by the good folks at the plant.
  11. I would like to post a few pics, but can't seem to get the resizing correct. I am not sure how to resize without distorting the pictures. I am going to try to get a few pics up in about a half an hour.
  12. We had the chance to listen to the new Heresy's in Hope. They are truly awesome speakers for the size. I told dtel last night they are probably the perfect speaker for a smaller living room. I would think they are awesome for a surround system. The Heresy's sounded great. The changes in engineering served the speaker well. We were told Klipsch may consider selling the newer components to upgrade older model Heresy's. I actually thought our new Cornwall III's sounded better without the sub. It is not surprising that you don't require a sub with the Heresys. I think it is personal choice when it comes to added bass with these speakers. The bright, clear sound is so impressive with all of the Heritage line. For you LaScala fans, the new LaScalas sound great and look just as good. IMO, the new LaScalas are beautiful and could be worked into any living room design.
  13. All of our children and grandchildren have been to Stennis, however dtel and I have not been. Michael's trip down will be a good time for us to go. Tom, we went down to the coast to eat dinner July 4 weekend. We try to get down there once a month. It is still so sad. I cry everytime we drive along the coast. It the most heart wrenching site I have ever seen. The Gulf Coast, eastern New Orleans and the Lakeview area of New Orleans, look like something from a nuclear war scene in a movie. Totally surreal, everything is grey and a significant portion of the devastation is just as the day Katrina rolled in and the water rolled out. It is a horrendous sad sight. You are right it must be viewed in person, photos and videos do not adequately portray the devastation and losses. Do any of you have any other ideas you would like to put on our itinerary for Michael's visit? We will have four or five days to spend touring. All suggestions are welcome.
  14. Coytee, Are you sure your wife would allow the Cornwall's in her living room?[] She might not like the "swapping" idea. I was thinking you could put your Jubilees in my living room anytime. I will even let you listen to both of them at the same time.[] And... I won't tell anyone about the ink pen fetish you have.
  15. I thought it was just a "high" from listening to the new Cornwalls, I could feel the low end in my feet while they were propped up on the coffee table. I'm glad you posted that, I don't want everyone to think I am just bragging. Oh well, let them think what they want, I am very proud to have these in my home.
  16. Twenty eight years. Somehow it doesn't seem that long. If the kids had not asked us to renew our vow at thier wedding we probably would have waited two more years. It really means a lot to my daughter and my niece, they admire and respect dtel and I's marriage. There is no way we could tell the four of them we wouldn't go along with thier plans. Hey, dwilawyer we missed you at the Pilgrimage. It was a lot of fun, wished you could have made it.
  17. Dtel's name was on the ticket, but I am claiming ownership. I am continuously amazed at the generosity of this company. Just attending the Pilgrimage in Hope was a special event for us. We were supposed to go to Hope last September with the small group that made the trip, but Katrina had other plans for us. The forum members we met while in Hope were all super people. (Not sure about the normal part) I don't think any of us are truly "normal" [] Yes we all win with a company like Klipsch. I can not say enough about the employees of this company. The outdoor temperature in Hope reached 102 degrees this past week. Working in the factory is a challenge when the temps are that high. The factory employees are some of the nicest people I have ever had the priviledge of meeting. Speaking of the paperwork, you guys would love the envelopes they put the paperwork in. 8 1/2 x 11 black with the Klipsch logo embossed on the front right corner. Way cool stuff. I am in love with these speakers. They are so clear, even at very low levels. They are probably the best all around choice for the type of music we usually listen to. The CD with the pics from the factory has forty two pictures on it. That is why I would really like to get with Amy on the majority of the pics. These pics are something everyone needs to see. The quality of the work is so impressive. We are talking real "hands on" people. Ms. Judy, the lady that does the sanding (28 years with Klipsch, I think) runs her hands over every pair of speakers. I got tears in my eyes when I looked at the pics from the plant. These people are in the middle of nowhere building speakers by hand. This practice is almost obsolete. There are very few things built anymore like the Heritage line of speakers. I will try to put up a few pics tomorrow.
  18. Cornwall's rock... I can't get the remote out of dtel's hand long enough for him to post. Klipsch photographed the Cornwall III's all the way through packing. Each person's name is shown on the first picture they took of that person. In other words, there are a couple of pics of each phase of the build. From the millwork to the packing. Additionally we were given a certificate signed by each employee that worked on the build. I will be posting a couple of pics, but I really want to get with Amy and see if she can help me out with the bulk of the pics. Will post a little more later.
  19. We got in from our trip to Hope about five minutes ago. The new Cornwall III's are in the house!!!! One good thing...with nine people living in the house, dtel had plenty of help getting them in. Dtel is "wiring em up" now. We can hardly wait to hear them. I will sit down after listening to the speakers and give you all the details. As promised, Ms. Donna and the good folks at the plant "did something appropriate for our new Corwall III's".
  20. Dee, We really hoped that you would be able to make the trip in December. I know we would have a blast. If anything changes and you are able to make the trip let me know. We have not yet made arrangements for a clergyman. You are always welcome to visit anytime you would like.
  21. Dee, We would never consider an encounter with you as harassing. You are well loved and respected in our home and I am sorry that we will not be able to see you on this trip. Stay safe on your trip and we will "meet" again soon.
  22. Nat King Cole is one of my favorites. After his death, his daughter, Natalie, re-recorded "Unforgettable" with her dad's voice (dubbed in) as a duet. IMO, it is a beautiful song.
  23. We will be celebrating a triple wedding in December. My oldest daughter and her fiance, my niece and her fiance will be getting married and dtel and I will be renewing our wedding vows. All in one ceremony. Wedding dresses, tuxes, cakes and all!!! We have asked Colter to document/photograph the event[ap] He accepted. How great is that? We are all so honored that Michael will be our guest for a week. That's right, Michael will be spending a week with us! I hope the "crazies" in this house aren't too much for him to handle. Oh, I forgot he will fit right in.[] Seriously, we can't wait for him to get here. He may love New Orleans and South Mississippi so much that he may never go back to Indy.[<)] What can we say? Just to have Michael visit for a week would be an honor for us. Not only will he be visiting us for a week, he will also be doing the photography for us. Aren't we special!!! We all (nine of us) can't wait to see you. The new Cornwall III's should be broke in by then!!! BTW, Michael the check is in the mail! How many times have you heard that before?[]
