  1. Broad Ripple Village can serve as our Quarter, and I have a personal friends as a bail bondsman and a prosecuting attorney, oh, a judge also- we're in pretty good shape!

party like Rock Stars guys, I'll be the DD.

    Michael

Michael you can be the DD the night we all go out.

However, you can not post any photographs of Lynn and I without our "express written permission.[;)]

Afterall, we wouldn't want anyone to think we would engage in any type of inappropriate behavior.[:P]

  2. Hey, I was coming down there for the HEAT WAVE- it's about that same temp here in Indiana- actually it was 63 last night when I went to bed.

I've got a girl watching the house who'll be stopping by every day and Macy is her fave cat, so I know she'll be on the lookout. Just now I remembered the last time I saw her. It was Wednesday night and I was trying to get them all inside. Macy just stood on the patio looking at me refusing to come in (as it gets colder, she really likes to take her time and I'm tired of letting the cold air in) , so I slammed the door on her... now I really feel bad.

I just hope she's safe somewhere.

It will be warmer during the day. I will check NOAA later and post more on the temps the week you will be here.

BTW, our cat "Mommy Cat" does the same thing. She will sit by the door waiting to go in or out, when we open the door she looks at us like we are stupid. So...we close the door and she sits in the same place until we open it again, then she runs out. As you well know, cats have their own personality. I still believe Macy will come home when she is ready. Cats are also resilient, she will find food and shelter.

And...she may just come running if you call her name...Mommy Cat does. BTW, Mommy Cat has never had babies, that's just what we call her, because she "rules the house".

  3. I got a new front load washer & dryer. Sometimes, when in the area, I'll pop in the room just to gaze upon them and say Hi.

    Where's Mr. Parrot?

We also have a front load washer and dryer. Whirlpool duet system. It is much more efficient that the top loaders. Comforters, blankets...all fit into the washer and come out clean with no problems.

We purchased the "Duet" right after Katrina (when our houseguests became residents). The Duet services laundry for nine and does a real good job of keeping up. The large washing capacity sure helps.

We also did not purchased the "pedestals", they are a rip off. Clothes baskets fit nicely under the doors, just like Meagain said.

Now...if only they could fold and put away the clothes for you...[*-)] Actually, I am particular about my laundry so that may not be a good idea.

Jeff, it's good to hear from you again.

    DWI, the Mercedes.

  4. The 930 is boxed and shipped.

Big brown truck headed towards Mississippi.

She came from Florida and is headed back home to play the southern rock she plays so well.

    arf,

Thank you so much. Dtel is so overwhelmed by the generosity of the people on this forum, as am I. Meeting a lot of the members of this forum in Hope and the Klipsch employees showed me something that I had not seen in a long time. Genuine friendship and compassion. You guys, all of you are the best of the best...

Dtel loves the "big brown truck". When he and the neighbor see "the big brown truck" they always say, "Someone is getting a new toy". This will be one of the times the "toy" is for dtel.[:D]

As for Dr. Who and Rivendell...are you guys trying to hijack dtel's thread?[;)]

  5. I'm glad just to see another Christmas.............................I would take an 07 Corvette SS though................

    Oldbuckster,

I was thinking this might be the year I ask dtel for that new Corvette.[;)] I mean I did agree to remarry him on December 9 and my birthday is Christmas Day, so he would be getting a break. One gift for all three ocassions.[;)]

I better be quiet, he might ask me for one.[:#]

  6. It's been a week that she's been gone and I'm just sick over it. The worst is that I'm going to be gone for a week soon and I hope she doesn't try to come back home when I'm gone and there's no one here for her......

Great...now I feel guilty that you are leaving to come down here.[:S] BTW, our low temperature for Monday night is forecast to be 28, so be sure to bring a few warm clothing items.[:D]

  7. I'm glad you guys got those Cornwalls, they must sound amazing.

We are still in awe over winning our Cornwall III's. However, the people we have met in this forum are by far our greatest gift. The Cornwall III's are incredible.

Hubby and I go round & round trying to design these bigass speakers into an HT situation in our future fantasy remodel. Forte's would be much easier to deal with.

Forte's are definitely easier to deal with as far as space and they sound awesome. I still can't figure out why some folks think they aren't true "Heritage". After listening to a lot of Klipsch Heritage speakers I still think the Forte II's can hold their place in the history books of PWK.

  8. Yes, I have a pair of:

    Khorns

    LaScala

    Cornwall (3 pairs!)

    Chorus II

    and my old KG4s :)

Khorns as mains, Cornwalls as rears, 1-Cornwall as center.

Chorus II, pair of Cornwalls, single Corn sitting doing nothing. I hope to make use of them when we bust down the walls to open everything up. I'd still rather have more khorns to tuck in corners. Less intrusive than most everything.

No wonder your house may collapse![;)] Didn't you say awhile back that your house/living area was small? Maybe I am confusing you with someone else, that is possible these days.

Why not pick up more Khorns and liquidate some of the other stuff?

Have you heard the Heresy III's?

  9. Who - Thanks. It's a bit of a hike, but I think we need to go. I'm anxious to see what the schedule will include, who's going and who's bringing what. We've only heard heritage speakers in my home so I desperately need to hear other's systems to compare.

    Meagain,

It is an further "hike" from S. Mississippi but everything goes as planned we will be attending also.

If you can plan to spend a few extra days in Indy before the Pilgramage.

A few of us forum members actually arrived in Hope on Wednesday, even though the "mixer" wasn't until Friday night. That gave us a little extra time to spend with friends we had met on the forum. It also gave Trey a few extra hands setting up the "circus tent".[;)] Those guys looked like they knew what they were doing.

I wonder, how many of them had ever set up a "circus tent" before then?

Meeting everyone in Hope was a wonderful experience.

I sure hope you guys make it.

  10. I am not well versed in all things audio. But here goes, depending on what size room you have (or will have) I can tell you...the Heresy IIIs are TOTALLY AWESOME. If I were looking for something brand new for a reasonable size room I would purchase Heresy III's, providing I had the funds available.

Dtel and I looked at each other in complete awe when the Heresy III's were playing in the listening room in Hope.

I thought you had purchased Khorns at one time? I haven't read or posted a lot the last six months. Our triple wedding/vow renewal December 9 has me running in circles. (Not that I need a reason to "run in circles")[;)]

Forte II's are awesome speakers...Colter picked up his first pair of Forte II's recently and posted a review under his "birthday" thread.

The Cornwall III's are also awesome speakers, it just depends on what you are trying to achieve. We use the Forte's in a 6.1 setup and the Cornwall's for 2 channel.

I am sending you a pm.

  11. Man I wish I could have seen the bruise Amy left on you for that call!!!!!

So Trey, exactly how long a drive do Seti and I have? Of course I'll have to add a few hours if we stop in N. Arkansas to pick up IB[:o]

    KaCha, "I got the fever"[;)]

IB Going, Tim. BUT, the old hide will accompany me on the 2007 trip. (she is my golden ear, and speaks her (ear) mind ) Gulp! Can't wait for her comments on an RF-7 system at volume. Shudder! Needless to say, I can't take her out for audio very often.

So, as one AR. delegation, we four will be taking two vehicles. Perhaps we could meet in the Rock and Lynn could ride with Seti? .......Or I could ride with him?

On second thought, No, I wouldn't do that to buddies like the you & Seti. You guys would never be the same. [:D]

Many thanks for the offer of transportation, but could I ask help from both of you in taming the audio shrew" when we get there? Thanks in advance.[:D]

BTW: She will bring fever per your request.

    Regards,

    tc

So...Lynn??? will be making the trip. Let's see, does Indy have a "French Quarter"?.[;)]

  12. Way to go wuzzer.

Dtel was so nervous about meeting everyone for the first time on our trip to Hope. He was on pins and needles until we met up with IndyKlipschFan, Coytee, Mike 2..., Larry C and a few others for dinner on Wednesday night. Dtel's anticipation must have been obvious to all the others. Indy, whom we had never met before took one look at Elden and said, "Man, chill out, it's gonna be ok".

Thanks Indy I needed that, because dtel was about to drive me crazy.

Then...dtel won the Cornwall's. I thought we were going to have to pick him up off the ground. When Trey announced his name, dtel just sat in his chair shaking his head in total disbelief. Trey had to tell him to come up to the stage. So...the excitement continues.

I can assure you and your wife that you will not meet a finer group of people anywhere ever again. The people on this forum, as you well know are like family to us.

Wuzzer it will be an honor to meet you and your wife.

  13. Dtel's wife - Thanks. I figured they were Fortes. Good use of space IMO. I like the concept. If I tried it, my house would probably collapse.

I am thankful that my house collapsing is one thing I do not have to worry about. Dtel designed and built this house, it withstood Katrina so I know it's pretty strong.

The brackets are actually bolted into a 2x12 support beam. The wall the Fortes are bracketed to was previously the outside of our home. We added a 780 square foot addition about two years ago, which is now the "living area" and a master suite.

Space is at a premium, even in our five bedroom/two bath house. Dtel designed those brackets and made them himself. Well, maybe space wouldn't be at such a premium if we didn't have six Fortes, two Cornwall IIIs and a subwoofer in our living room.[;)] Just kidding... the furniture would have to go before I got rid of the speakers.

You know, he is pretty handy to have around. I guess I better say I do on December 9 when we renew our 28 year wedding vows along with my daughter and niece's marriages.[;)]

  14. Those are beautiful. Nice touch by Klipsch with the special certificate.

Dtel - I've a question..... I see speakers hanging from the ceiling. What are they and what are those brackets holding them up? I've contemplated doing this and those brackets appear pretty solid.

    Meagain,

I know you asked this question of dtel, but I happened to log onto to the forum first.

Those speakers hanging from ceiling are Klipsch Forte II's. Dtel made the brackets himself and I can assure you they are most solid. They are actually mounted to the wall. If you want a more close up shot, let us know.

  15. Michael,If you've had her long enough,if she's able she'll come home. A few years back, I was backing my truck up and heard a thump! Got out to see my cat going around the corner of the shop. Went to look and saw that her head looked like a football. Off she sent went, six days later she came home skinny and hungry. Her head looked normal.Tuff cat!

    Hope it works out.

    Larry

I agree with Larry and the others who have said she will come home if she is able.

Our cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. She meows at the front door when she is ready to come in and sits by the front door when she is ready to go out.

About three years ago she was at the door crying really loud. We opened the door and she could barely walk. She had been shot. The bullet went in at her shoulder and exited the other side. We really thought she was going to die. A week later she was just fine.

About two weeks later our neighbor came over and told us he had shot her. Little did he know, our other neighbor had already told us that he had shot her

BTW, what are you going to do with your cats when you come down here?

  16. Do you think we can make Amy lock this thread down if we make some comments that it's the month of June because that is when the political conspirators (who are manipulating gas prices) will lower prices for a month, so they can then say "gas prices are expected to rise due to the coming winter months"???

    [8-)] [8-)] [8-)] [8-)] [8-)] [8-)] [8-)] [8-)] [8-)]

    Coytee,

Why do you insist on getting yourself in trouble? [*-)]

You were so "mild mannered" in Hope. I just didn't think you were the kind of person to continually create problems.[;)] Guess I was wrong again.[;)]

  17. dtel's and oldtimer...

you have my sincere condolences with your sitiations. I wish I could help, but this one stumps even Clarence. Its hard to look at a theif the same way ever again.

$3 or $105,000...I thiefs a thief. This is why locks keep an honest person honest.

Wow, $105,000...You seem to be taking it well!

It wasn't my money. It was my 66 year old aunt's money. The funds were from her insurance company and were to be used to repair her home after it suffered damage from Katrina.

She signed the money over to a very very close relative to perform the repairs on her house. Total insurance funds exceeded $150,000.00. Her house is only 1500 square feet and received no more than 18 inches of water. However, the house is located in an exclusive area of Metairie, so was a custom built home with lots of extras.

Being very generous and after consulting with several contractors the repairs they did perform were estimated to be $45,000.00. We (the family) made numerous requests verbally, and in writing for an explanation, receipts or whatever they could provide...to no avail. We went to arbitration and the attorney representing the "other party" refused to accept their "case".

And no...I didn't take it very well because we suspect this same family member "took" dtel and I for almost $100,000.00 when I was an independant insurance agent.

The district attorney advised a couple of days ago that he has accept the theft by fraud charges the sheriff's department filed six months ago. The case is going forward.

I can't understand why people have a problem admitting when they are wrong.[*-)]

And yes, if they had admitted the truth it would have been "swept under the carpet", as always with this particular family member.

So...they defrauded an elderly Katrina victim, who is a family member. They also had full knowledge this person was suffering from depression, as the aunt was staying with them while the "repairs were being done".

    Sad, really sad.[:(]

  18. I hope everyone has a wonderful holliday. Lets remember those that are not stateside and hope that their families and they have a great holliday in spite of the circumstances.

When I woke up this morning, at 4:30 a.m. the military personnel were the first people I thought of. I am thankful to each and every person that has served or is serving in our military. Their service to our country has allowed us the freedom to celebrate and give thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and your families.

  19. Sounds like some excellent southern hospitallity. I did Mardi Gras once & that was enough; to crowded & to many idiots for me.

Arky, we aim to please and always enjoy having company. Everybody needs "to do" Mardi Gras at least once. As a rule, we don't attend the parades. When we go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, we head to the French Quarter to see the sights and hear the sounds.

It makes me feel good to see there are people more idiotic than me.[;)]

  20. Is gambling back up yet in Bay St Louis? Last time I was there years ago I believe it was Casino Magic. Duran (Mr. No Mas) was fighting some no name that night.

Congrats on all the nuptials. That's jumping in the fire there Colter, especially if they are all on the same day.

We told Michael there is no pressure with photographing the wedding. We don't expect monkeys to jump out his...well you know what I mean. We are all pretty laid back and easy going. We really wanted him to come for a visit and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. There are not a whole lot of "triple weddings" and if I am not mistaken Michael says this is a first for him also.

    JT

According to my parents (they live in Pass Christian) - yes. Mom & Dad said it wasn't any where near as nice as the old Casino Magic (it's smaller) and the food isn't as good either.

We heard the same thing about the new casino. Actually we weren't terribly impressed with Casino Magic's food prior to Katrina.

OTOH - there's a new Casino opening up pretty soon in Clermont Harbor (east of Bay St, Louis and Waveland) that's suppose to be very nice.

There is an excellent casino in Biloxi. The Imperial Palace has some of the best food we have tasted, as far as buffets go.

dtel's....please make sure you take Michael to Beningo's (behind St. Stanislaus) in Bay St. Louis and show the man what a roast beef po-boy is with gravy and all the dressings. Heck - order him a shrimp po-boy and Barq's too! [:)] (sigh........me getting home sick.)

Dtel says he wants to find Beningo's. BTW, I heard from a very reliable source that Rocky and Carlo's, down in da Parish will be reopening after the lst of the year. They have completely renovated the place, from top to bottom, and it's "sparkling clean". Pretty amazing feat for Rocky and Carlo's. I hope the food is still good.[*-)]

BTW - I'l be visiting my parents for Christmas from the 23rd to the 29th.

My birthday is Christmas Day and I was hoping we could do something to celebrate within a day or two of Christmas. Let us know if you want to try to get together.

    Tom

We were going to drive along the coast so Michael could see it with the Katrina remodel, we will go look for Beningo's, I could use one of them po-boy's myself .

Also plan to show him St Bernard, 9th ward, NO East and the french Quarter during the day.

If dtel and Michael go to St. Bernard, 9th Ward or New Orleans East at night I think I will stay home.[N]

We will also bring him back to the French Quarter at night, wish it was Mardi Gras time, he would not belive Bourbon St on Mardi Gras day . [:o]

    That's what I'm talking about.[;)]

Also would like to take him to the House of Seafood in Bush La, it's not a fancy place at all, but they have a seafood buffet with all the local seafood boiled or fried, raw oysters and good deer sausage. Almost hurt myself last time we went there !

Any of you locals that have not been to House of Seafood need to get there when you get a chance. The food is unbelievable.[:)]
