  6. Ritchie Blackmore was probably the first well known artist to scallop the fretboard,he was doin it in the 70's...

  10. Tread mill is 4 my wife (i'm to much in shape to even consider using it) LOL!! Actually that gets moved away. I will be using those belle's for my rear speakers in 5.1. Factory Rosewood Khorns for fronts (or perhaps My custom soon to be, albeit expensive) Flamed maple vennered K horns front and 1 Middle belle. I have an Mc2000 millenium amp that I willl use for the fronts. I have a VPI HRX and manley steelhead phono preamp that will be used w/ "real" racks (leaning towards Adona's) Mac MVP 861 universal player and a MX 135 to control the home theatre. My C2200 will cover the 2 channel. The only thing left is to decide whether to go Plasma or 3 chip projector.... audioclassics.com will help w/ install. PS. audioclassics Has 2 pairs of used Lascala's 1 pair painted black the other natural, One pair of Khorns(in their listening room) And I think they have a factory "new" pair of lascala's in warehouse... I bought my Mac gear from them and My Rosewood Khorns,Khorns still their matter of fact,DON"T TOUCH!!
  11. I'm sure this has been asked befor But, how do you post pics?? Perhaps my pic is too big?
  12. I have belle's that you are more than welcome to have a listen. I run a pair of Mac 2102 tube amps and C2200 preamp. I live in Roscoe NY 12776. I also have 3 pairs of Khorns but don't have my room configured yet....
  13. Hi Chris re. force guage go to audiogon.com think they are about 100 bucks, acoustic sounds sells the same one I believe for $180 !!
  14. Thank you all for your recommendations.....It will take awhile to sort out,but it will be well worth it. I'm goin on vacation in a week or so........Where are you in Greece Max?? I,m vacationing there,Island of Kefalonia...... regards all....
  15. Def, i know your entitled to your own opinion but your a little to quick to judge and make assumptions about me. I do NOT want to go throgh the "discovery process".....Not fun for me. I would rather cheat and pick the brains of the good people on this forum! I know a "little" bit about Hi Fi,definetly no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I know what good music sounds like,to me....that I am an expert in. As for setting up the turntable, the good folks at Audioclassics in Binghamton NY (Ryan) will come to my house and help me set it up......and I didn't even buy it from them!! To have someone who knows what he's doin next to me will make that part of "discovery and leaning processs " alot more fun and less painful! He also called VPI for me and they suggested (for the type of music I listen to) the Dynavector PHA-200 phono stage and the Kaitora cartridge. It seems that VPI has a love relationship with dynavector, but listening to it and comparing it will be fun! to be continued....
  16. Thanks for the info jazz. I haven't even put my HRX together......still using my VPI scout, the dynavector 10x5 does not need a pre amp.... What stepus trans do you suggest??
  17. Thanks for the replies guys! Def, don't know why you seem angry...... I'm not buyying to brag, I buy what I like and what I can afford. There will always be someone who can afford nicer things than you or me,big deal! For your info, I bought all my Mac gear used from audioclassics,I personally would not buy new and lay down all that large $$$$$$. I will brag about my HRX though.....6200 brand new latest model in April (go to your dealer and ask how much he will sell one to you)! Back to the cartridgr. I am merely trying to narrow down the ones that you guys suggest will be worthwhile,of course my ears will decide for me,and i will also probably buy used/demo. As for phono stage I am checking out the Dynavector PHA-200. Has anyone listened to The "kaitora" cartridge?? In the meantime I am still using my Scout w/ dynavector 10x5. Thanks again, and keep em comin...
  18. Ok, i never thouhgt that this would be so hard.......but the further i get into this hobby the more money I end up paying, Ssheeesh!! Anyway, I 'm using Belles and or Khorns, 2 Mcintosh MC2102 tube amps, and the C2200 tube preamp, I have a VPI HRX turntable....still in the box. What is your suggestion for a cartridge???? I listen mostly to 60's to early 80's classic rock, folk, and jazz. What would be your choice for a cartidge money being no object??? Thanks, I eagerly await your respnses!!!
  19. go to www.audioclassics.com ask for ryan, they are the biggest mac dealer in th us. oh yea, they are also (coincidentley) based near by Mcintosh labs!
  20. Heh Meagain, I don't mean to rub it in I guess If you want to wait for the right thing to come along thats great! As for me ....I do NOT have the patience Because they do not come up for sale all that often, and it seems there are some pretty "tight" people on this forum,,unless they are sellin some of their own gear! I don't think you would get hurt at even $3500, It doesn't buy you much today!
