  1. You don't understand that in the business world, where profit is the motive/goal, EFFICIENCY means "cost," and PRODUCTIVITY means produce more at less cost. It is not as EFFICIENT to spend $15 an hour on labor when you can EFFICIENTLY spend $7.50. Exactly, the margin has to be there or why bother having a business for profit. At our place of work we are always looking at metrics and labor is a part of that. Efficiency would dictate making something quickly, cheaply with no waste and at the highest quality possible to be accepted in the market place, along with labor cost and benefits to attract and keep good employees engaged at their jobs over time. There are federal and state requirements and regulations as well as raw material costs, safety, development costs, marketing, sales, and shipping. A competitive edge must be maintained within the margin of profit as well particularly in these times. We all serve someone or something to earn money in this world so lets stop the silly servant and slavery comments. If you're work place does not treat you right, pay you right or you feel like a slave there, move on.
  2. I wonder what moral competition would look like and who would set those standards and enforce them. Personal conduct by players are the only moral guidlines in the NFL that I have ever heard of but I do not study it and that may not be the case IDK. The NFL may be silly to some but the jobs it creates are certainly not, Bloated or not it does a very good thing by employing folks and even dare I say make many very very rich. The people in the NFL organization making the most are certainly spending a lot of money and supporting jobs and families on down the line. I certainly cannot hang with some people here who either are completely consumed by politics and buisiness or work in an arena that demands that they are. If I were that guy I am not sure I would shove my opiniated views on folks on an audio forum at every opportunity as that may seem a bit self indulgent and self righteous, maybe even immoral. I would definitely never refer to the general population of my country sarcastically as sheep as some have on this forum in other discussions as that would also not be moral I think. People chose how informed they are and I agree it is a shame and a danger that many pay no attention at all. We all have to try to get people engaged in these things on a personal level in our own lives. That is far more powerful than anything else or preaching on a forum. To the point of this thread vote your conscience on minimum wage. As a hard working person for 35 years who has been given opportunity based on effort I know where I stand....your mileage may vary.
  3. "live in Paris " is my fav but have all her stuff. "Rag doll"I do not care for. I think she's a wonderful singer and tremendous piano player. She puts together great musicians with high quality presentation.
  4. Don't be swayed away from this driver, It does a nice job and is well regarded. I use an Edgar 300hz tractrix home built horn and I cant complain. I hear a very natural and convincing tonality that far exceeds the 400 horn and k55 v. I have used the k-55 on a 2" horn with an adaptor before and it was pretty darn good. When I went to the B&C the natural, easy sound they make won me over big time. Their may or may not be better out there but the B&C is definitely worth going after in my opinion for whatever that's worth.
  5. But it's "jelly-fishing" right where your hearing is most sensitivity! You are wrong, you do not like this driver, you cannot like this driver!!!! . Damn it John, all the trust I've built with my ears and you gotta do this to me. some nice guy you are. for some added perspective I will say one of the more noticeable audible changes I ever made to my Khorns was going from cloth to leather furniture in my room. Not that its relevant to what you are looking at specifically John but overall its worth pondering the big scheme of things I think.
  6. Its a wonderful sounding driver in my opinion. I've had a few in my khorns and this one is about perfect to my ears. Looks like it may be the smoothest of the 3 compared regardless. Maybe that little dip in that area is a net positive for human consumption? Odd how the JBL is very closely inverse in response at that frequency. Bet the JBL is a bit more etched sounding. Just my 2 cents. This driver will likely never leave my system
  7. It would be fun to have a 911 thread.I think you are agreeing that there was zero fight over the loss of rights under the PA. People always say they will fight over the Constitution but never do. The reason is that real life occurs in your home, and abstractions like the Constitution don't really affect people like they might imagine. Sent from my SM-T330NU using Tapatalk you two should go to lunch together, maybe chineese........in China would be best....a really long lunch n really talk. Im gonna remain here in the Matrix....good luck with everything....enjoy.
  8. your hopelessness is amazing. please enlighten us sheep on what to do next. I have wasted my life working hard, enjoying my family and hobbies, voting and enjoying food that is bad for me. Now thanks to you I see its all just a mirage. Should we sheep lie down and let the machine run us over and finish the job, Since you claim no one can or has the stomach to fight in this country I guess us sheep should just give up all. Please give us the solutions to our wreched existance. You sir concern me...I am very interested in what kind of music you like....seems with your intense depressing deep understanding of our crummy society that listening at all would be silly.
  9. Well I am listening? What is the solution? Welcome to the forum! Thank You! I was hoping you would tell me. Well, as I said, we are being assaulted, so let's devise a defense to at least mitigate the damage. I think we could all agree that schools seem to be the favorite target right now. So let's devise a defense to keep our children safe, shall we? I propose immediate defensive measures to include additional police resources. Yes, defend the schools with armed guards. Permanently? Perhaps no. But at least until we can get our footing and identify what our issues are so that we can eventually work towards a workable solution. How do we fund this effort? Well our government spends billions on needless crap every year. I'm sure we can rummage up a few billion to finance this program. Some might see armed guards at our schools as a drastic action. I would like to point out that we guard our courthouses with armed guards and metal detectors. We guard our state legislative buildings with armed guards. We guard our airports. Heck, I've even seen police officers sitting in their cars at road construction sites. Now tell me, are our children any less valuable than these people? My child certainly is not. It's a start. It's not necessarily the final result. And frankly, it's better than what we are doing now. sounds bout right. welcome
  10. My point of view is what it is. Blame it on Fox if ya want it only hurts your credibility . Typical. Your article site you referenced has some interesting sponsors by the way
  11. they shot his *** as soon as they could or more would have died. Thank god the good guys had gunsthis is ludicrous- gun nuts still skip over the point. I thought good guys with guns on site would prevent the shootings?I thought gun free zones were the problem?! Here "good guys with guns" were there and it did NOT prevent anything. Whatever the hell that is? Show me two guys with guns... Who's the good guy? Have you ever served in the military? I'm guessing not as there are standing orders on separate storage of arms and ammunition at military bases. You will not see people serving there carrying around loaded rifles, etc.. According to the current US President the mass-murder that occurred on that horrific day at that base was merely 'workplace violence'. Again--- it was workplace violence... The shooting was a place of significance to the shooter. Guns Being present on a military base did not sway his decision. it was an inside terrorist attack by a Muslim extremist nut job. And people were not armed there enough.
  12. Reagan huh. Reach much, in sure that's the problem there today not ultra liberal politics. Peace through strength works with crazy people here and abroad. And were we not attacked prior to using supreme force?
  13. they shot his *** as soon as they could or more would have died. Thank god the good guys had gunsthis is ludicrous- gun nuts skill skip over the point. I thought good guys with guns on site would prevent the shootings?I thought gun free zones were the problem?! guns prevented more deaths there. Plain n simple. As it would in any situation. I do not own a gun, I do own common sense. Name the gun law that will stop crazy people?
  14. they shot his *** as soon as they could or more would have died. Thank god the good guys had guns
  15. how many times has an instance like this happened in a place known to be protected by armed security? They attack where we are weak.
  16. yup, When the cops show up and kill the SOB. That ends it. Glad they have guns
  17. The problem is that most of the shooters are guys who go to that school and would be let right in. Heath High School has a lot of fences and automatic door locks, didn't stop anything. I hear ya but doing something for security for at least faster response on site may save many in the long run and the targets would at least be more difficult to get at.But you are right its not likely we can prevent these things totally on that level, Its a social problem we got to figure out.
  18. Whoa, there! You are defending the former practice because the law protects the right to engage in it. Yet, when taking the side of gun opponents, you are arguing that it should be against the law to have guns. Wouldn't this position on guns, as you say, "require a logical fiction?" I am nit dedending, nor advocating, anything. His premise was (paraphrasing) abortion is killing and it desensitizes society to the point that we have devalued all human life, including kids in school. We should therefore report these deaths. That is a moral judgement, not a logical or legal progression. His argument actually supports gun control. Ban abortion, and you end them, and save lives. Ban guns and eliminate mass shootings. I don't see either one as legally ir constitutionally possible. sorry you have misread me...to sum up my stance: I am saying Guns can save lives n crazy people take lives and that abortions are taking lives for no good reason, and yes since you mentioned it we are numb to that issue of killing babies because its convinient for some and something to pretend is about a womans rights for politicians. Its a Human rights issue period.
  19. Actually what would be wrong with fences around our schools. They work to protect goods and places of buisiness, factories etc......why not kids. Hey, I think I found one of those rumoured shovel ready job to save the economy.
  20. So, you'd be ok with each school having metal detectors, fenced entries, cops with guns protecting it? Do you see that as a solution? Do you see that anywhere in the world, right now? dont know about cops n fences n stuff but yeah an apropriate amount of armed security people n some id badges to get in seems right. It should not be any easier to get into a school than the DMV or a state building. I don't know what other countries do but I live in here and we have an issue recently. Crazies have figured out how easily they can attack our kids n citizens. They also see the media attantion and our president n politicians reacting to their horrible acts to use as a tool to stir the pot. They make a name for themselves this way i guess. We must then figure out whats going on with these people committing these acts. Guns are not the problem.
  21. It weakens your argument. Gun ownership and abortion are both constitutionally protected rights. If you intertwine two completely separate issues it tends to obscure whatever valid points you have concerning the discussion at hand. They cannot be compared or treated the same because different arguments apply. To accept your proposition that a termination of pregnancy be counted as a "death" or treated equally would require that one assume that it's availability is not protected under the Constitution. That is clearly not the case under current law. It requires a logical fiction. I don't see abortion as being related to mass shootings, but I could be wrong. On a more important note, congratulations on your granddaughter, she must be bringing you quite a lot of joy. I wasn't trying to equate the two constitutionally but one can certainly see it that way I suppose. I am saying many who are anti gun are pro abortion. Guns are considered by their owners to be a positive tool to discourage, protect and defend and not an instrument to kill, I cant see many instances where abortion has any positive side to it except occasionally maybe to protect the life of the mother. Its simply my take or opinion. Thanks for you're congats!!! She is a joy in our lives and we feel blessed.
  22. That's why I said based on the violence alone. By legitimizing it we took away the seedy underbelly and black market for tobacco. If people want to destroy themselves by using it, that's their problem, mainly because they're going to use it anyway. That's the thing with marijuana... if you want it, it's already stupid easy to find. People who want it will get it. You're not stopping much of anything by continuing this war on it. But, the only way to get it now is to utilize a black market which is fueling the violence. Take away that black market and the violence goes WAY down. I understand what you are saying, I'm just not sure we should make things legal as it would be seen as condoning it. We are bound to one another in our society in every way and I just see a lot of bad things for us all if we become to willing to legalize drugs any further. I am conflicted on this in some ways but ultimately I just think "where does it stop"
  23. My initial point was lets be consistent and address all the things that take human lives, not focus on just guns. What are the stats on guns saving lives I wonder....better than abortions I bet. unwanted children are the one mistake in America it seems we can just throw away n forget....no special reports on those deaths. I am sorry for my distracting from the topic of this thread but its all related and all equal in regard to our human condition and what many politicians try to sell us. I've just been given my first granddaughter so I have been stewing lately more than normal on some things.
  24. When you legitimize something, it takes away the black market, which is where the violence occurs. For example my ancestors were victims of the Black Patch War which nobody has ever heard of. Drug related deaths will not end regardless, and by legalizing we are taking the last possible deterrent for someone to NOT go down that road. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Patch_Tobacco_Wars So, based on this violence alone, should we ban tobacco? Sure...its a huge killer and a terrible burden on our health care system. But its legal now and funds many campaigns( see my consistency comment) Columbine had an armed guard, that did a lot of good huh. We would have to have a full time swat team in every school as well as metal detectors for every door. Should have had way more security there cause guns will never go away and neither will evil people. Id fund that in my taxes if I had the choice. Or teach others to use and carry guns safely to protect themselves...maybe teachers should carry. The rights of the law abiding folks should not be taken away by the criminals. It just shifts power to those who want to harm us.
