OK guys, the noise is gone. I took it all down and went back with just the amp, pre-amp, cd, rtr, and tuner.
No more sound processing equipment, no more noise. Thanks for the advise.
Jay.
The noise does respond to volume control, a little you have to really turn it up to hear it from a distance.
As far as both channels, yes some time both, others just one side. I am going to take down the complete system and put back just the essentials and see where it takes me. I am pretty sure it is in the pre-amp,
but I want to make sure.
OK guys, everything is off except the amp pre-amp and canhere this local talk show.
Is it possible that one of the connectors has gone bad or the shielding gone amuck?
Jay.
Some one please help me, I am getting bleedover from one of the local AM Radio Staions.
My tuner is turned off, it does not even have an AM antenna hooked to it, what is causing this?
How do i fix it.
A little help, can i expect some noticeable improvment in sound by adding a tube pre-amp to my SS amp?
I have k-horns in front of a Marantz 300dc amp @ 152 wpc. Please explain pro' and con's. Thanks Jay.
My budget for this first time is $1000.00 for both amp and pre-amp. I like to tinker a little, but until i know a little more about what iam doing let's keep it simple. I have a pair of 1977 k-horns all original. What kind of power do i need and so on? Thanks Jay.
I need info on some tube amp pre-amp combo's, Iam looking into a possible change, I know nothing about
tube equipment. someone please help me out. Give me some names of some reliable equipment in which to start with.
We have all decided that the k-horn is king of the speakers, agreed. Now who is king of the amps and preamps? In the less than $3000.00 range. Cleanest and purest is what i'm looking for.
Jay.
It's all about acoustics, size and space have a lot to do with reproduction; also placement.
this is my opinion and experience. you must decide for yourself the desired sound you are looking for.
