  1. Colter, I'm sure your a busy person. Yet you took the time to do your part in helping others. I look up to you.
  2. I live in an old farm house and I burn LP. Last year we were coming back from Oklahoma (my mom's funeral) and a ice storm chased us into Missouri where I live. The storm hit really hard. We lost power but we still had heat. All our neighbors have really fancy homes and they were out of heat. So they came over and were more than welcome. With the Man Above's help and a Warm Morning stove we had a good time and ate good. Thank goodness for LP. When the chips are down propane is the way to go.
  3. I have a RF RC62 and love it. But if you have the money you might consider the RF82's with RC62. Listen to them both. Like my wife says, the bigger the better(LOL). I'm sure someone else will chime in and tell you what will go good with your room size as well as your budget. Good luck my friend.
  4. My RC62 sits on top of my TV at 4' 6" to the top of TV. My couch is a low rider so it seems to me that it was missing something. Like the sound is going over my head. But then again I've been questioning my '62 for about a month or two,so I took it to the place I bought it and the tweeter has gone out. They suspect the crossover is or has gone out. I can only hear sound coming out of the left speaker. Maybe when I get it back it will sound really good sitting on top of my of my TV. But like you, the placement of my center channel is limited. I would like to have it about 3' 6" high but then, where would I set my TV.
  5. Amy, with all do respect, there are a lot and I mean a lot of unauthorized dealer out there, how do they get your product? Klipsch is a big time name and it comes with a big price tag, Yet, there are so many sold that aren't authorized. OK, I'll drop it. I was just thinking, I don't do it very often
  6. Oldtimer, sir , can ya see what I'm saying. Maybe an employee wil chime in.
  7. I kinda been thinking about this "Unauthorized Dealer" thing, and I know its for our own protection. BUT, Klipsch builds the speaker and releases them and stamps them with a serial #. Does Kipsch sell there product in bulk for a much lower price to individuals or unauthorized dealers? They all can't be stolen or B stock. There are a lot of New line products for sell by unauthorized dealers and you would think they would not be B stock as in repair type a thing if there is a 5 year warranty on them. Can't Klipsch keep track of the serial numbers that they release and only to Authorized dealers. I know there are a lot of Klipsch cabinets(enclosures) that have different drivers in them, but if the driver/ drivers went bad, why not take advantage of the 5 year warranty. Does Klipsch sell speaker without any warranty?.... Confused
  8. I'm not an audiophile, I'm a construction worker. Please don't ban me.
  9. Dr Who I would love to buy that kit from you. But... not a good time for me. I have 2 boy starting school, 1 boy starting college and my wife is a teacher and they all need new clothes and shoes and this and that. I need new work boots, nothing a little duct tape won't take care of (LOL). Can you tell me a little bit about your kit? Will it go good with my '62"s? Is it ported? Can a dummy put it together? If you still have it when I get out of this rut I'll take it.
  10. I can't afford a sub to match my system so I have been reading a lot DIY threads. From what I gather, TC sounds are one of the best. TC 1000 single was looking pretty good until the price went up. It went from $169 to $399. Thats a little more than a 100% increase. Lying, greedy bastards. I was told that a little guy wouldn't be able to buy from them. Only retailers. The tech guy told me that. Maybe he meant the little guy can't afford to buy from them. I wish I would have had the money to buy before the prices went up. Anyway, is there another sub driver I can get for a price that is resonable. I mean, I want the best I can get without getting slapped in face even if I have to save up to get it? One other thing, the terminolgy that comes with the specs on these drivers are Dutch to me. Is there a link or a site that explains all the Xmax or the Xmas, QM, Le and Qts and all that stuff? Thank you for your time.
  11. No I haven't. My system isn't complete. No sub and my back speakers don't match( RSX5's). I don't know where to get a SPL meter or how to use it. Don't get me wrong, my system sounds great. But I want to get all I can out of my speakers. And I don't mean to slam the dealer I bought my center channel from. They are very professional. Very attentive and helpful. Its sales people that spook me.
  12. So I should hear the lows on both speakers equally. But the high's will be different. One will go higher to blend with the tweeter. Is this right? I now know it is not the woofers because I swapped the woofers around in the cabinet and got the same result. If it is a crossover problem then I have 5 years for it to go out. I might take it in just for my own peace of mind. Also.... you guys are great. Thank you for your input and your time.
  13. I listened to CD's on 5 channel stereo and heard very little sound coming from the right woofer. Alot of sound coming from the left woofer. Friday will be the first day off I've had in a long time(Monday thru Friday speaking). I've been working a lot of OT. I guess I will take it back to the dealer. If I don't get a different speaker I guess will contact Klipsch and send it in for repair. Maybe I'll call the dealer first and see what they do in a case like this. I live 20 miles from the Springfield Mo. Don't want to make a wasted trip. I got too much to do at home. I hate to be without a center channel for a long period of time. But anyway... Thank you for your response and your time
  14. I got up close to my center channel and noticed that the right woofer was weak. A lot weaker than the left. I had my wife listen to it and she said yes there is sound coming out of it but it wasn't as loud as the left woofer, and that was fine with her(LOL). I bought it local 2 months ago. I wonder, should I take it back to them or should I return it to Klipsch? I would fell more confident with Klipsch looking at it and repairing it. Money doesn't come easy for me and I want it done right. I don't want to return it and get a returned speaker in return, do you know what I mean?I don't have the box anymore, my 5 year old boy got ahold of it. What do ya think? What should I do?
  15. Fini, it takes to long to upload pictures. Dail-up, 26.4k out here in the sticks. The racoons found our corn. They eat it like we eat it, peel the husk back. 6 ears where sampled. I figured it was just one coon. A whole family would have cleaned it out. So my beautiful wife got mad and pick all of it. Most of ot was ready but some wasn't. We have a lot of corn to eat. Steve, you have a nice place and a clean garden. I would like to visit Virginia some day.
  16. Nice, clean looking garden. Raised garden are great. Alot less weeds and no rocks. We don't have a raised bed and we produce more rocks and weeds than vegys. Have you tryed growing cabbage? It is so much better home grown, not as bitter. Isn't great to run out in your back yard and pick your own salad. It taste so much better than store bought stuff. Good luck my friend.
  17. Mine looks great. We planted two different kinds of corn. Honey and cream, and peaches and cream. The honey and cream is a early producer. That was the first time we tryed it and I didn't care for it. It is creamy but it wasn't very sweet. We sowed 3 rows of it(30 by 30 garden). I'm ashamed of it. We give our friend and neigbors vegys and I want it to be the best around. But the peachs and cream will be really good but it hasn't produced yet. We grew it for the past three years and always had good luck with it. There is nothing better than open your windows and listen to music as loud as you please, sitting under a shade tree with a cold beer and watch the wife work her butt off in the garden. Very fine looking Lady. Throw some Tri-tip on the grill and fresh salad out of the garden, corn and potatoes and what ever else is ready to eat. Now that is living. Man.... you city folks don't know what your missing.
  18. If your dropping that much money in one store I would try to get a RC62 for no more than $360. If they would not go for it I would give him my phone # and walk out the door and wait for him to call you.
  19. "Blessed is the man who hears many tiny voices calling him father." Happy Fathers Day.
  20. I have RF62 as mains, RC62center,RSX5 for surround and no sub..... only becuase money is an issue. I build as I can afford. I have no regrets with the '62s, the sound is like....wow. But if money was no issue, I would buy the RF63's, RC64, and what ever surround sound that match them and a kick *** sub.But I have that need for the best sound I can get. And my need might never be satisfied. But these good people on this forum know there speakers and won't steer you wrong. Good luck my friend
  21. Looks like one of my old girl friends
  22. My Grandma killed three. As for spyware, I run Ad-aware and spybot seach and destroy. And HIjack This every now and then. I have dail-up out here in the sticks running 21.6 Kbps. LOOK OUT. If some one wants to scan my comp, they better be fast. We get kick off about every half hour. Running a wall would be good for high speed internet but I don't think I have to worry about that.I might be wrong. I try to watch where I surf. I have no degree in computers. But alot of it isn't that hard to figure out if you take interest in it.

    RC62

The more I listen to my speakers, the more I like them. When I bought my RC62 I seen bigger klipsch speaker like the floorstand 82's, 63's, and 83's. But I have no regrets with the RF62's.I agree a sub will top it off nicely. But the RF62's are under estimated.
