  1. I have the opportunity to pick up either a Dual 1246 or Concept 2QD turntable. Looking for reviews on either of these or comments on which would be the better choice. Thanks..Gary
  2. Bob, Back in August there was a thread re: Cornwall II crossover rework http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/thread/774572.aspx I would like to take a shot at doing the rework myself, however was wondering if you would sell me all of the materials I would need to complete the work. You had a picture of the "after the rebuild" posted. I would like my crossovers to look that good after I finish. My email is gwolfram05@yahoo.com Thanks, Gary
  3. Bob, I would like to rework my Cornwall II crossovers. Do you or could you sell me all of the components I need to do the rework myself like the one you pictured in the "after the rebuild" picture? Email me at gwolfram05@yahoo.com Thanks, Gary
  4. Thanks Oldtimer, great instructions. It was self explanatory. We'll see how I did.
  5. Thanks for the clarification Russ. I wasn't sure I was using the correct description. Yes, I am looking for the Cornwall that can be either set horizontal or vertical. More specifically, the mid horn and the tweeter horn are mounted vertically in the cabinet. I doubt this clarification is going to make one magically appear now. [] Gary
  6. This player has the wood base and does come with an Audio Technica cartridge.
  7. Anyone familiar with the Pioneer PL-570. Found one locally that is going for $150 in craigslist. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/ele/254783804.html Does this seem like a fair price? Is it a decent rig? Not sure if belt drive or direct drive would be preferred. Just starting my quest into the world of analog. Gary
  8. I had a feeling the pond was going to be crowded.[:'(]
  9. How do I add a picture that shows up under my forum name?
  10. I would like to get my hands on a horizontal style Cornwall to use as a center channel speaker in my HT. Anyone got one sitting around collecting dust? Thanks, Gary
  11. Wow.....No one has this combo? Does my question make sense? Hellooooooo anybody out there?
  12. Taking a quick poll on what your LP crossover setting is for an RSW12 running with mid 80's Cornwall II's. Usage is primarily movie watching. I'll use this as a starting point to fine tune the sub. Thanks!
  13. I found a great deal on a RSW12. Just received it this evening, and had it fired up within 10 minutes. I must say that I am very impressed. This thing keeps up just fine with the Corns. My favorite part is that the couch rumbles with every explosion on the screen.........AWESOME! Thanks to all for the great advice. This forum rocks!
  14. Thanks Fish. Just checked onecall....sure enough they're still running the sale. Very tempting.....When you went with the cherry did you go 15"? If so, was there a huge difference?
  15. Thanks Gary. Appreciate the feedback. Seems obvious the bigger the badder. I'm pretty much a money miser when it comes down to buying stuff. Having the option to go with either 12 or 15 inch sub will give me more opportunities. Now it's just a matter of time til I find that elusive "great deal".
  16. Arthur.....I agree, my question was kind of vague. I do not understand the dynamics of sound but I know what I like to hear. I appreciate the excellent scientific reply but its over my head. Let me ask another way. Currently I have a 8" Polk Audio subwoofer and when I installed the Cornwall's I can even hear the sub anymore. Was wondering if the rsw12 would provide enough growl that I would hear and feel bass again. Gary
  17. I'm in the process of converting my surround sound system to the heritage line. Just installed Cornwall's for the front channel. Will eventually add a Cornwall for the center and Heresy's for the rears. Not sure if I should go 12" sub or 15". Looking for some free advice. The room size is 16 feet wide by 20 feet deep. Would a rsw15 be an overkill? Can the rsw12 keep up with the Cornwalls?
  18. I would like to hook up one pair of speakers to two amplifiers and switch between them depending on if I am listening to music vs TV. Does anyone know how this can be done?
  19. Bob, I just took it apart and put back together, piece of cake. Just sent you an email. Thanks much for the help. Gary
  20. Thanks Bob. How much for a pair of K-79 diaphrams? Do I just take off the three nuts that attach the cone to access the diaphram? Gary
  21. Just picked up a pair of '86 Cornwall II this afternoon. Hooked them up and found that one of the tweeters wasn't working. I swaped it with the other (good one) thinking it might have been the crossover. It was the tweeter. Where can I get a replacement tweeter? Can these be re-built? Do I need to replace both at the same time or can I just replace the bad one? By the way....the good speaker sounds excellent. Can't wait to hear them in stereo. Please help! Gary
  22. Congratulations on the new speakers. That was a great tour of the plant, much appreciated. I should have mine fired up by Thursday night.....I can't wait.
  23. This makes sense. Hopefully I can lay them flat and stack them.
  24. Just bought a pair of '86 Cornwalls and will be picking them up in a couple of days. Is there any issues with laying the speakers on their side for transportation? Or, do they have to stand upright for the ride home?
  25. Appreciate the tip on freight. Fortunately these are within a 2 hour drive. That'll save me a couple hundred dollars.
