  1. I highly recommend the Panasonic, but not the consumer product (although a very fine product). I install about 10 to 15 Panasonic Broadcast units a month. The 50 would be the TH-50PH9UK (720P). There is a 1080P model (TH-50PF9UK) but I can not see the price difference. The only thing is that these broadcast units do not come with multiple HD inputs like the consumer units; they only come with one component, one VGA and one composite video input, although you can add any type of input you wish such as HDMI, and they do not have speakers, not that I think that should bother anyone on this forum. In most of my installations the AVR does all the video switching required in almost every system. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The Panasonic site can be found at: http://www.panasonic.com/business/home/flash.asp The units have adjustments that consumer units do not have that can make all the difference in the world such as black levels and so on. One other thing to consider, currently these units are provided with a 5 year parts and labor warranty from Panasonic. This would cost hundreds of dollars on any other unit. That would be my three cents worth. Downlighting
  2. I am currently using RF-83s as surrounds and mains. The room needs have changed and I now require the space that the RF-83s now occupy. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The side walls will not work on either side of the room, this leaves only the ceiling. My question is obvious; will either the KS or KL work in the ceiling, and which one would be superior in this application? I know I can mount either pair there, the question is will I be pleased or disappointed? The product description states; WDST, this no-compromise approach gives the KS-7800-THX much more placement flexibility than conventional designs. The product info says nothing about ceiling mounting. I am with a dealer and have the full THX Ultra 2 system on display but have no experience with either 7800s. (See pictures of the system at the link below) Visit: http://mediaroom.homestead.com/ for room details. Thanks
  3. I have the Revel Performa F52 next to the Klipsch RF-83 (replacement for the RF-7) in our soundroom, it depends on what you are looking for (or listening for). These two speakers practice totally different religions, only you can decide where to worship. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> If you are truly disappointed with your Klipsch system, there is absolutely something wrong with the room or equipment. Depending on what your dealer tells you during his visit, I might contact a different dealer and get a second opinion. I use the RF-83 for fronts and surrounds (RC-64 Center) and I am astonished every time, movie and music, and I am only using a Denon AVR-4306 (130 WPC). Good luck
  4. May I suggest the Denon AVR-1906, I do so for these reasons: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> In a 5.1 system, the surround back amplifiers can be assigned as a second set of front channels. This allows you to passively bi-amp your RF-63s bi-wire connections for improved sound quality. Price Passive Bi-amping is superior in sound quality than simply bi-wiring. http://usa.denon.com/AVR1906.pdf $549 Retail
