  1. Cal; Home at last...like the fretful parents looking for a foster home, we can at last sleep knowing that the Quartets are in a supportive family setting! [:'(]............Dave PS......don't forget to update your profile!!
  2. Cal - Enjoy the Quartets while you feast on popcorn! [][][] Let me know what you think when you hook them up.......if you don't respond via email right away, I'll understand.....most likely, the grounding you received from your wife as a result of your buying more speakers will include a ban of any fun electronic toys such as internet access....[]
  3. tychicum; I got your email and klipsch post, but I was off the grid for the last 4 days, so I am only catching up tonight. As per Cal's note - he's interested in kicking the tires when he drops by on Monday. If Cal passes I will let you know whether you need to start looking for a bottle of 18 year old Glenmorangie....[]
  4. When you pick up the KG1s, you'll be able to check out the Quartets - I don't know if that will help you or torment you ([:'(] But if you see what you like, I'm flexible on timing and prefer they find the right parents..... Does Monday work for you for KG1 Pickup? - let me know........Dave
  5. Cal; I was just thinking about that the other night because without the KG1's I don't have a use for the mounting brackets, but son of a nutcracker.........those bad boys are somewhere in storage from before I moved overseas. I can't get into the storage either or I have to accept delivery and then storage is on me....so to make a long story short, I can't get to em. The KG1s are a great size to mount - a good sturdy bracket holds them up well but they are still big enough to look cool and undeniably Klipsch.......
  6. Thousands Standing Around......lol Good point on the risks to checked luggage.....if nobody were to mess with the packaging there's a passable risk that an original packed klipsch would make the journey but nowadays, you never know when someone will %$#& with your wrapping job in the name of national security........no way.
  7. Check this out; I list my Quartets for sale on Craigslist, listing weight and all (@ 52 #/ea) and get the following post after the first hour: "I will like to make the quick payment of this item of yours through(U.S.P.S) Money Order. So all i will be needing for the payment to proceed is your full name, address, city, zipcode and phone number...So i will offer you $380.00 so that you can remove the posting as soon as possible. Also i will like you to know that once my payment is approved by USPS i will like to pick up the item with my personal FedEx account.Get back to me as soon as you get this message so that i can order USPS to proceed with the payment." Thanks in anticipation. Mary" What sort of fool uses Fedex to ship 105# of precious Klipsch hardware??? A few additional questions confirmed that this hoaxter was fishing for a scam....I asked for their location and number to discuss logistics and got a response that the person was "in England right now". Its amazing to think that folks are duped everyday into thinking that someone a continent away is gonna pay for your stuff and come by and pick it up for you and all you get out of it is a fake money order........ When buying/selling, always Check your 6............
  8. KG1's...........SOLD to the man with the Anvil. I am glad they are finding a home with a Klipschofile who will care for them for their next 15 years.....
  9. Cal - check your email for detailed message on the KG1s
  10. Obviosly Not my FS Quartets/KG1's.....you never even called ([:'(]). I'm guessing you scored some cornerhorns but whatever you scored, you sure taped it up well........
  11. Any Chance that you live in Houston? I do visit there on work fairly often and would consider bringing them as checked luggage on a flight in the original boxes+ crating if there's genuine interest and they don't move here in the LA basin. I have read a lot of the forums that talk about shipping pros and cons and it seems that anything less than a household move has some real downside risk. My biggest concern would be in-transit damage - even if I took them on a flight. On the plus side, I do have the original boxes and packing which make for an excellent fit. On the negative side, I offer three initials......TSA! If a Houston delivery is possible, let me know and I can keep you in the loop if these don't find a home over the next few months.
  12. Price reduced.............350$ / 50$. See initial post for updated details.
  13. I'll second (or 3rd) the recommendation that you get a good thorough medical assesment and thorough vehicle assesment - such a high energy impact can do everything from bend the frame to make wiring harnesses jump out of their clips .........if these things aren't diagnosed and addessed during initial repair, you could be plagued with follow on problems down the road. As Mr McGoo said so well - us humans are much more fragile - get that medical check up, take a few hot baths and chill out with the drink of your choice........
  14. Quartet Pic #3 - email me if you want to see higher res pics......
  15. I've cracked the code on pic uploading - here's Quartet pic#2
  16. More pics further down in this discussion string......
