  1. ask him.......I see some of those on ebay that he built...
  2. I looked at the autoformers real good and I think they are fine no signs of heat so I think I am going to buy those autoformers from you...and I did buy them..thank you. I have a friend that can test those so I'm going to take a day and visit him. One more ? on the med driver there is a white dot of paint next to one of the terminals ...I always took them for (+) am I ok with this? again thanks.....
  3. Brought home the Fluke today... 12 " 5.1ohm med 11.4ohm tweeter 7.7ohm does this look normal to you? where do i go next? How can I check the autoformer.... I also brought home my OTC meter, it can test digital freq data, if that means anything to you. I use that for testing some of the Ford MAP sensors..... again Thanks..... I'm going to pull the autoformer...(is that what they call it??) and ohm it.
  4. Thanks Bob.........the way I look at it is, if I have a 16 ohm driver I can rule out the 8 ohm theory and move on to the next...... again Thanks.
  5. Why, Yes it would. (He said modestly). Bob Crites Sorry hope i didn't offend anyone........I had no idea you sold this stuff, thats great, I'll get the stuff I need from you. So I am going to test the drivers first, see what I have for ohms.....do you know what they should be?
  6. something like this work...if I needed it.... http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Audio-Autotransformer-Pair-Klipsch-Crossover_W0QQitemZ110190740034QQihZ001QQcategoryZ14993QQcmdZViewItem
  7. ok I'm starting to get it. I see it in the pic, it has three connections on it..1 input, 2. 3db to the mid horn and then whatever the third one does to the tweeter. ok I have that, could that be the problem? How do I test it? and could I have gotten 8 ohm replacement drivers for a 16 ohm setup......would that make it louder. is this setup 16 or 8 ohms??? Sorry for all the ?'s and I thank you all for your time and knowledge.
  8. So what am I missing. I have that same schematic.....Like I said all I did was replace the caps. is there something missing?
  9. I have no idea what you are talking about. Autoformer??? Lower Tap???? All I did was replace the caps..... Thanks
  10. I have had these speakers forever, they are not the newer KP 250 but the old ones. I have cooked the cossovers in the subs (KP 115) a few times and had to replace the med drivers in the KP 250 once. I just re-caped the whole network with bigger and better caps and replaced a med driver again....but I am still not happy with the sound ...the med horns are way louder than the rest and I have to eq the snot out of them just to listen to them. Nothing has changed the horns are still way to loud they always have been even before the re-cap. some pics KP 2.5 B network Before................................................................................................After Kp 115 before Kp 115 after Is it possable the network calls for a 16ohm med driver and Klipsch sent me an 8ohm driver making it way to loud. Thanks for all your help....Steve.
  11. 300.00...I had two of them never a problem, they have fans and a filter that needs cleaning. rated for 8 and 4 ohms and I believe they are 750 watts a side @ 4 ohms 500 @ 8 Great for low end.......but if you are going to push them hard you need to feed them power, like there own 20 amp curcuit........I drove my subs with them. and check the input settings it has three I think.
  12. Well I found out what I needed to know after I talked with a friend of mine (he's an engineer) and he set me straight on what I needed to do, and that schmatic you sent me realy help a lot and I mean a lot......Thank You....
