  1. Fanboy? Hardly. Have you used the Panny? The Panny is no more limited than the Yamaha you refer to. I have the funds and tried the HK avr635 and Pioneer 56txi. Even added some Adcom 555 amps. I have owned the Yamaha flagship RX-V1 and demoed the HK 7300. I wish I had kept the yamaha however it was not leaps and bounds better than the digital amps. Since the OP is looking for a budget receiver, I think the Panny should never be overlooked. For me, I kept climbing up the food chain of receivers and just did not see the returns. The HK 635 (645 know) was pretty nice and one I would recommend it if price allows. Or a used RX-Z1. For $200 there is nothing close to the Panny digital amped receivers-that comes from in home use and ownership-not being a "fanboy."
  2. I have single owner KV-1 for sale for $95 shipped and the a prof KG 1.2's in oiled oak for $120 shipped. Both are in fantastic shape.
  3. What are you using for a cleaner/polish on the veneer? I have an sw-12 and the kg-2's that could use some "polishing" up.
  4. The HSU deals going right now are near impossible to beat. I had an HSU VTF-2 and regret ever selling it. I liked it better than the SVS pb-10. At the clearance prices, it is a no brainer.
  5. JM-that is a cool thing to do. I just found a similar local deal. It was supposed to be an all Klipsch set-up. However when I got there the only thing Klipsch was the SW-12 sub and a pr. of KG 2's. The other speakers were all Snell. I bought them but wanted Klipsch. How he could confuse the two I have no idea. He had been using them for 8 years and thought he had an all Klipsch set-up.
  6. I have used HK 240, 430, and 635, Yamaha RX-V1, Pioneer 816, 54tx, 56txi, Onkyo 604, 803, and Denon 2805. I have used these all with my Klipsch speakers. Up until know I would say the HK 635 was number one followed by the RX-V1, and the 56txi. I currently am using a Panasonic SA-XR55. I thought this may be too bright but it sounds fantastic. Very detailed and the best value. It sounds far better than the Denon or Onkyo's to my ears. I think I even prefer the digital panny to the Pioneer Elite 56txi and an Adcom 555 combo. That is a $200 receiver compared to a combo with a street price of $1100.
  7. Where does the KG line fall in terms of quality? Is it closer to the synergy line or reference in terms of build quality?
  8. I used to do the same. I will never sell on E-bay again. I have had several fraudulent chargebacks and for whatever reason have had several difficult transactions where I ended up losing out due to trying to please an unreasonable buyer. Now I only sell on Audiogon and HT Forum.
  9. I used Dish Network HD for some time. I currently have Time Warner cable as I could get the HD dvr without paying a fortune. I can't tell any difference between the picture quality. I made the switch based upon channel lineup. I needed to have NESN in HD to watch the Red Sox in HD. What stinks though is I don't have CBS in HD. That means I don't usually get to see the Patriots play in HD. I did like having TNT in HD on the DN package. I prefer cable overall...
  10. This sub works perfectly and I got it from the original owner who stated he paid $1000 for it 8 years ago. It works perfect and is in good shape. The grill cover has a couple pencil eraser size holes and there are a few light blemishes on the veneer that can be polished out. It weighs about 60 pounds and shipping would be from Maine-04364. $245
  11. Thanks Bill. I bought a complete set-up locally. I am keeping the SW-12 and selling off the rest. My wife is patient but only wants so many speakers around!!!
  12. Ebay and Monoprice sell any cable you would need at a great price. I have bought cables at Rat-Shack but several of them have gone bad over the years. They don't always seem to last.
  13. I have seen these sell for $200 on E-bay fairly regularly. I bought a new one awhile back for $260 shipped.
  14. These are just solid speakers. Decent all the way around.
  15. I decided to keep these and don't really want to ship them. I know i would regret selling them.
  16. I don't have a camera. Although you can check my feedback on Audiogon under pats3of4 or on Home Theater Forum under Dorian Bryant. I bought these locally from the original owner. they have never been shipped and are in fantastic shape.
  17. These are in fantastic shape $100 and shipping
  18. I picked one up locally used. Are these any good? What were they selling for originally? I found some specs but not much else... I am cleaning it up now and going to fire it up tonight.
  19. Title says it all. A decent pr of KG .5's for $60. These are black and in nice shape. Only very minor blemishes.
  20. This is a mint pr. of RF-35's in black ash for sale. I paid $800 shipped from AVB Direct. I have a ton of speaker sand am selling these for $425 and shipping costs. Shipping will be actual weight with a small surcharge for packing material. Shipping will be from Maine (04364). E-mail me at zoneblitz_5@hotmail.com
  21. Looking for a decent pr of used book shelf speakers for under $200. Anyone have anything? Thanks!!!
  22. Huge difference. Like going from 8-track to CD. Just don't feel you need to pay huge money for a brand name HDMI cable. Any cable will pass the digital signal.
  23. I am looking for a bookshelf speaker with an 8" woofer or any floorstander. If you have something, let me know. Thanks
