  1. Soundog,

We could not have written that any better ourselves. Thank you for your input. Our goal, as it has been for the last 50+ years, is to produce the highest of quality product and support that product the very best we can. We look at a customer that buys an older product as part of the family. (maybe once removed.Wink.gif and are glad to help when we can. And yes, we do hope that kind of service for those customers will lead to them choose our product from then on.

    Bryan2,

We hope you are happy with the new grill.

  3. If I want to remember the old days I just walk into the living room...there sets the 1967 cornwalls with the 1982 Yamaha receiver...1982 14ga speaker wire...

It all still sounds just like it did way back when...

  4. You all should have come to the show. The Klipsch booth was one of, if not the busiest booths at the show. Standing room only, most of the time.

We had "see through" RSW subs out where everyone could see what they are made of. (pic's to come) We all had fun.

One of my favorite parts was the Megadeath tune at the end of each day. (at no less than 115db from the RF-7 system driven by the Aragon 7ch system) Now that drew a crowd.

Another fun thing was watching people walk by the booth while we demo something like U-571 or Pearl Harbor. I think the record height a person jumped when the bombs went off was 4.3 inches.

One of the problems we had was keeping some of the "pretty pieces" held on the booth with Velcro to stay on...

BTW: Donna, I will take care of you later...

  6. They do now have a computer but they don't look at the board. Paul is doing well. I visited with him at Thanksgiving. At 98 he still loves to laugh.

  9. Ray,

If he swaps the channels on the amp and there is a problem with the amp and that channel did hurt the original driver, he could hurt the other driver. This is not where I would expect to see the problem, but never say never....

That was one of those "just in case" statements.

  10. Sunnysal,

If you try the amp thing you could hurt the driver. I would look at the back of the driver. If it is a "M" driver, I have seen the black plastic back air chamber get loose. If this is the case, the sound will happen at a certain volume and frequency. You can sometimes find this by "tapping" on the back of the driver.

If it is not loose, then you may be:

    1. Over driving the driver.

A: dont turn the amp up that high...

    2. You could have a cap that is braking down. Letting to much bass into the mid driver. It may hold up at low volume and not at high volume. A: you could send the amp into Klipsch for repair / testing. You will need to get a RA and pay $60.

    3. A problem in the electronics.

A: do as Ray suggested swap the channel. to see if the problem stays with the speaker or the amp.

Let me know what you find out. You can call me or e-mail me. trey.cannon@klipsch.com 1-800-554-7724.

  11. Hey Guy,

We have been having problems with the phone.

I may not have gotten your mesg.

I suggest you try a fuse from radio shack

part #270-1022 this is a 1.5 amp slow blow.

    It should work fine

If it blows, then you have a posiable bad amp.

    Good luck!

  13. There were 3-4 "running changes" in the epic line. What you have is one of the early woofers. You may be lucky and find that part number still in stock. The way to find out is call customer service (1-800-554-7724) and ask if they can still order that number.

Your woofer has a little heavier cone than the new woofer. The port length was cut in halve and a network change was made.

If you go to the new woofers, change networks and shorten the port.

If you can get the older woofer, do that. It makes the repair easier.
