  1. At work, we all use Radio Shacks' digital spl meter because of the excellent price($59) and ease of use. They seem to be pretty consistent with each other +- 2 db. I just figured this difference was because they get a little banged up being thrown in & out of a service van. The next time I get to use the spectrum analyzer(it's kept calibrated), I'll test my Radio Shack meter to see how accurate it is.
  2. Art, the discs showed up today....I can't believe they're here so soon. Apparently you don't waste time! They're in excellent shape too. Other than the cases not being sealed in cellophane, I would swear that they're brand new. Thanks again. -Tony
  3. Switching the receiver to 6 ohms should(in theory) decrease the amount of watts that it pushes to your 8 ohm speakers. It shouldn't make a difference in sound. Since you're using 8 ohm speakers, it is best to just leave it on the 8 ohm setting.
  4. Typically the Reference series(RC-62) speakers sound better than the Synergy series(C-3), although I haven't personally listened to the C-3. Also, the RC-62 will be slightly louder using the same wattage due to it's higher sensitivity. The most important thing when deciding which center channel you will use, should be finding one that will match your front speakers. -Tony
  5. I would like to buy a few of your DVD-A titles. I sent you an email through the Forum. Please post here if you don't receive the email. Thanks. -Tony
  6. Very unlikely that the speakers are the problem. I would lean toward the receiver being the problem, except that you tried another receiver and had the same results. Do you still hear the buzz with the volume turned completely down own your receiver?
  7. I can't do that.....my wife knows the combination to the gun locker.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I would really like to buy the RC-64 being the new flagship model. However, like you mentioned, it probably won't match up as well as the RC7 would. My plan now is to see if any one else has had any experience with this setup before I take the plunge. If not, then I'll most likely buy the RC-64 and find out the hard way. If the RF7's and RC-64 don't sound great together, I can probably find some one willing to trade me center channels.
  9. I'm planning on upgrading my center channel soon. Can any one tell me how well the new RC-62 or RC-64 would sound with my RF7 front speakers? Would I run into a problem with them not being timbre matched? Also, does the RC-64 sound so much better than the RC-62 that it's worth the huge difference(double) in price? I appreciate any help or advice that's offered. -Tony
