  1. They creep me out, always have. They have such benign yet terrible looks on their faces, with their sympathetic eyes and blood-red mouths shaped into creepy half-smiles. Predatory. Luring you into their monkey-lairs.

    They just aren't "right".

    Yeah, I may have issues.

  2. What's interesting to me is that there isn't a concerted attempt here to capture, distill, and archive the best information in a way that is easily retrievable by newcomers.

It's a good idea, but there's just no time. It would have to be a very concentrated effort by someone who could verify the knowledge as completely accurate. I'm not the person for that job. :)

  3. Interesting post on the AVS forums about Klipsch... "I'll let others share their experience, but on Thursday of last week Klipsch parent company's stock was hitting an all-time low and they seemed to be preoccupied at CS...Ironically, they made good in the end, but I had a bad experience when Indianapolis won the Super Bowl and the following Monday no one was answering the phones."

Ha, I remember that! Yes, they closed the office after Indy won the Super Bowl several years ago. Perhaps it inconvenienced some, but it's just one more reason I love working at Klipsch. They are good to us, and treat us like human beings. Plus we don't outsource our CS to a foreign country. They are just upstairs from engineering and marketing.

Incidentally, who ever posted that clearly is confused, or I'm misunderstanding their post. Indy won the Super Bowl in 2006 -- when we were still privately owned, 5 years away from being purchased by our current parent company.

  4. Maybe Amy has been reading all this and she will let them know what I'm expecting to be sent

Sorry, I was just alerted to this thread today. As always, contact me directly if you're having any kind of trouble with Klipsch! I just don't have time to read through every post.

I have to be honest, I'm still not entirely sure exactly what happened or what is going on, or why the lynch mob mentality (as someone called it). Our customer service team is top notch, and they consistently bend over backwards in situations where there is a clear problem/solution.

Facebook is not a fair gauge of anyone's customer service, IMO. After all, rarely does anyone seek to post on Facebook if they have a positive experience. Just sayin.

Please send me an email detailing what is going on. I have a feeling the gray area here may be because these are Pro items. We typically do not deal direct with consumers for Pro products - dealers/installers are responsible for these sales, but of course we want to make things right.

Let me know how I can help.

  5. Is it just me or does Sarah Fisher not seem pleased in the background . Looks like she's thinking , "will somebody please get that woman out of the car now" .

She does! But nothing further from the truth. She is so great, so nice...her and Josef both. The car was actually disassembled when we went in... the mechanics scrambled to put it back together without us asking. Then they told me to get in... I was leery -- scared I'd get stuck in there. Unbelievably tiny space they have to work in. But so glad I did it. I love that place!

  6. WHAT??????? How the? WHAT????

    Ha, Chad! You missed it.

This was taken Friday afternoon, not too long after qualifications. We were wandering around the garage area, when we were unexpectedly escorted back into Sarah's garage for pics of the car.

  7. Very nice Amy I would love to go see that, I love the water behind the car.

Why do they do that in the rain ? Do they race in the rain ?

    Thanks!

This is a picture of qualifications for the very first Indy Car Grand Prix at the track (held tomorrow). Since it's a road course, they do use road tires and race in the rain. Regular Indy Car racing is not rain-friendly, In fact, the track has to be completely dry.

I hope it catches on. It was fun watching the big name 500 drivers run in the rain for once!

  8. You are the second one that has mentioned the Zeiss. I've never heard of them. Do they make them for nikon lenses?

Carl Zeiss, German. They've been around a long time. The lenses are things of beauty, sharp as a tack. Gorgeous glass, and heavy. Only downside is lack of auto-focus for many OEM models, but I'm ok with that most days. Until my eyes start to go, ha.

After Christmas, I was stocked up with Amazon gift cards, so I splurged. :) Otherwise, I probably wouldn't drop that kind of cash.

All my other lenses are Canon, except my 70mm-300mm, which is a Tamron (with image stabilization). I'm very happy with that one for the price. I take most of my wildlife shots with it:
