  1. In search of a gently used KT-SW for my system. I live in SW Minnesota. Thanks RG
  2. I used a Quartet for center between Chorus II's and it was great. I laid it on it's side and also used the other in the pair for a rear center. Worked great.
  3. I just got the Lynyrd Skynyrd live concert DVD and it rocks. Also I must agree with the prior posts on the "Eagles: Hell Freezes Over" DVD. Also check out Journey's 2001 DVD another very good performance.
  4. I thought that it may be a ground problem. I'll check out all the connections. Thanks
  5. Do all subwoofers hum? I just purchased a KT SW and it seems to produce a very slight audible hum. Is this ordinary? Is this a ground loop hum? Thanks RG
  6. Yeah, it's like sending your kids off to college. I am going to miss them.
  7. I have sold the Quartets and Chorus II's. If anyone is interested in a pair of KT DS's just let me know. Robert
  8. The wife factor has taken over. She was tired of the "big" speakers in our "small" house. I got a great deal on a complete Klipsch THX system and with the smaller footprint, it seemed like a good idea. I have only ever owned Klipsch and see no reason to change. Started with KG 4's with and SW 10, went to Chorus II's and Quartets plus Forte II's. I am also ashamed to admit this, but I had a pair of Academys that I traded along with the SW 10 in to get my Chorus II's. At that time the blue book was only $150 on each Academy! Boy was I and idiot! Someday, bigger house - bigger speakers. Would love to get some Khorns just like everyone else. I should have mentioned that the Quartets are in a walnut finish. RG
  9. Lyle, Thanks for the insight. I haven't had a chance to tweak the system yet but will certainly utilize your comments. Robert
  10. I am selling my pair of Chorus II's, Quartets and KT - DS's. I have the Chorus and Quartets on ebay, the DS's not yet. I am the original owner of the Chorus II's and the are mint. No blemish, every corner, edge and driver are perfect. They have an oak finish. I will post the serial numbers later. I am the second owner of the Quartets. I bought these on EBay 1 year ago and have used them as my centers. Cosmetically they are 7/10, sonically 10/10. They have some blemishes but no gouges. If somebody took the time I'm sure they could make them look almost new. One of the passives has a slightly dented dust cover. One of the grilles has some candle wax from the previous owner as well. I just purchased the KT-DS's with a complete set of THX Klipsch gear. One of them is missing the THX logo that you can still get from Klipsch. One of the speakers also has a very, very slightly damaged corner. I am going to keep my KSP S6's for surround as the mount on the wall better than the DS's do. I have the Quartets starting at $300 with a BIN of $375, the Chorus II's starting at $750 and a BIN of $1000 and I will sell the KT-DS's for $250/pair. I don't have boxes for the Quartets or Chorus's but would travel up to 180 miles to meet someone. I live in southwest Minnesota. I would ship the KT's for actual shipping. I have pictures and they are dark. I will try to retake them and post them. Thanks
  11. No, are you interested? I still have the Chorus II's as well!
  12. Orange Peel, You can look them up under the search at KT LCR, KT SW and KT DS. This was the original THX certified system by Klipsch until their new one comes out shortly. I just bought a complete system. I haven't calibrated it yet. It sounds good but I'm not sure I made the correct decision yet. I had a pair of Chorus II's for the mains and Quartets for the center front and back with KSP S6's on the sides. I wanted to down size the foot print of my system (wife factor). Robert
  13. Are you still looking for a pair?
  14. Video Essentials Laserdisc for sale! Jacket and disc are mint. First $25 takes it. I'll pay shipping. Robert
  15. THX WOW Laserdisc for sale! As you can see it still has the celophane on it. The disc and jacket are mint. It was only opened and played one time, honest, just to see the "WOW" factor. First $50 takes it. I'll pay the shipping. Robert
  16. A Video Standard Laserdisc for sale. The disc is mint in conditon and the jacket is 9/10 with just some normal wear. First $25 takes it. I'll ship for free. Robert
  17. Yes I did. I want to down size. Wife factor. Any comments?
  18. I just bought a Klipsch THX system KT LCR (3), KT DS (2) and KT SW for $635. Was that a good buy? I was thinking of down sizing as now I have Chorus II's for the mains, Quartets for the centers (front & rear), KSP-C6 in storgage and KSP-S6's for surrounds. I also have a pair of Fortes as well. If this works out I am going to sell my Chorus II's for $1000, they are mint and my Quartet's for $500. I am going to sell the KSP C6 as well. If interested, please contact me!
  19. Anyone have a pair of Quartet grilles laying around? Price? I know I can get them from Klipsch, just wanted to check with the brotherhood first. Thanks
  20. What are you going to do with your Chorus II? For sale?
  21. intend on building a new home theater from scratch and need advice on speaker placement. I have read numerous times that the speakers (outside of Khorns) need to be placed maybe as far as 1/3 of the way out into the room. Please correct me if I am wrong. If the speakers do need to be placed farther out into the room, would it be wise to build an accoustically transparent "false" wall with accoustic material and place the speakers behind this. I would cut out a window for my viewing screen and install the equipment behind this accoustic wall. My idea would be frame out a "false" wall with 2x4's and attach accoustically transparent material to this frame. Any ideas? Thanks RG

  23. I might just have to take one of the Quartets and give it a shot! Thanks for all of the help and insight from all of you. I think the Quartets would fit better under my TV than the Forte's. I'll let you know how it turns out. Jerohm could you email me a rough design of what you did? I would appreciate it. Thanks. RG
  24. Jerohm, I noticed you have the tweeter below the midrange. Any reason for that? How would you rate the sound before the modification and after? Did you replace the internal wiring with upgrade wiring (monster, etc.)? Thanks RG
