  1. Like I said, more ignorant liberal thinking: "Ah yes. Is this the mantra I use to hear that if Bill Clinton was out, this economy would really be booming with a republican President. Well now that the all but one half of one branch of the government is controlled by republicans, I can thank them for their sound economic thinking and this bustling economy? I guess I should pump more of my dollars into the stock market, especially those favored by Cheney, shrub, etc." Thanks for proving my point to the logical thinking here. Oh and by the way, if must pin everything on the Pres, then please note that the Nas average was down 50% and business spending had fallen off a cliff and both were in well established trends, & all before W took office 1/01. Of course we wouldn't expect a Liberal to understand established economic nor market downtrends now would we? And that corporate, accounting and wall st. antics plus Bin Laden's master plan for 9/11 were all in place long before 1/01. I don't think Liberals realize W has been in office only about 1.5 years. Must seem like a decade to them. ------------------ live long & prosper This message has been edited by cybergeek on 07-23-2002 at 06:45 PM
  2. CS: "I hear the constipated mathematician worked it out with a pencil, $350 tax refund divided by 12 months of 5 day weeks of 8 hour work days comes to about an 18 cents per hour raise. Wow, that's pretty good. If the refund was $700 that would be about 36 cents an hour. How much was your refund this year" I was waiting for that Liberal bull. Funny how they can use cumulative effects for tax hikes and whine about those with the deficit, but when it comes to a cumulative effect on our economy when putting a few more dollars in consumers and investors pockets, then its back to how much effect for the individual. Shows the Liberal mind at work. Tax cuts are an economic stimulus. The primary fiscal stimulus the Gov has to offer to the private sector. Liberals look to the Gov for their money. The wiser know that to get more money one must work, and the more economic stimulus the Gov can provide, the better the chance that jobs will be available from the private sector. Keep in mind the employment rate is now about 94%. Also we have the fact that the Democrats put an abrupt halt on more of a tax cut and sooner in the first place. Also THE DEMS put in the kicker that the tax cuts are not permanent. Why is it we get encouragement for cuts in wasteful spending so much more from the GOP side. All the Dems can do is fixate on the deficit being paid currently at astronomically low interest rates. And they do this with nothing but Tax Hikes in mind. Thank god for Al Gore and his brand of thinking. He and his kind of Dems are a godsend for the GOP. Face it, when it comes to sound economic thinking, the Democratic party is a disgrace. ------------------ live long & prosper This message has been edited by cybergeek on 07-23-2002 at 02:41 PM
  3. Hey welcome back Forrest. Great to see your return. Although Forrest may be somewhat abrasive, he brings up a good point. Why do liberals as above agree that business and the consumer do a better job at running our economy, yet they support policies for bigger government with more control over our lives? hmmmm. ------------------ live long & prosper
  4. Moon, That is what I was talking about too. I was going to show you some of my para. I have no trouble not bringing it up but if the opposition to Forrest reinstigate it with false facts and their biased interpretations of the events, I'll post the clarifications. That's the trouble with censorship. It deletes historical fact too. ------------------ live long & prosper This message has been edited by cybergeek on 06-10-2002 at 11:09 AM
  5. Again to state what really happened: Kain started a thread to lobby for the banning of Forrest after on another political thread Kain supported the Palestinians' terrorism. SoundJunkie posted a pic of Forrest as a chimp on his own personalized drivers license. I thought it was funny and it seems to me so did Forrest. Forrest retaliated with pics of both Kain and Soundjunkie. Kain as Richard Reid and Soundjunkie as a male posterior with a star shining from it. I couldn't tell whether Soundjunkie was suppose to be the posterior or the star shining, but i think it was the star shining. I thought these were funny too. After more barbing between the gang and Forrest, the Webmaster stepped in and posted that Forrest could either delete the posts or he would do it himself. Forrest posted a thread that cited his first amendment rights as an american. Nothing derogotory toward anyone here. And BTW Jon Albright, the 1st amendment means there can be no law that prohibits free speech. It's not just for congress, it naturally applies to all in the USA. If there is no law prohibiting, then no public oriented entity can legally interject or condone it. The Webmaster, apparently feeling his ego was threatened, then did an about face and told Forrest remove the Pics or he would be banned from the board. The Webmaster did not apply the same seat of the pants policy to the others including thePoster of the Chimp pic. Forrest, being backed into a corner obviously, invited the Webmaster to lower the boom. I think he was bored here anyway. BTW, Moon, if you truely want to meet up, I'll meet you half way in Centralia. Name the time and exact place like the Outlet Mall. Before you go making offers and threats you better think first next time. I might be a Green Beret. ------------------ live long & prosper
  6. Rationalize all you want but just know that what led to Forrest being banned was his beating you at your own game and only when getting defeated did you cry foul to the webmaster. he mentioned all the emails you sent when you were getting your butts licked. All 20 or so of you on one. You know you're the losers now. Another thing I mentioned that was deleted was Moon and his degradation of Forrest seeing action in the special ops. First I think Moon is lying but if he was in the military I'm sure the only action he saw was at the local hump haven. LOL Have a nice day. And don't bother WM. I don't have time for fools. ------------------ live long & prosper
  7. Wanted to open for public comment. My posts also went down with the ship when the webmaster decided to delete numerous entire threads. Seems he can't delete individual posts as he bluffed that he could in giving Forrest that option then turningcoat to an outright ban of our lovable Forrest. As I mentioned, in summary, I think many agree that those who Forrest took issue with had it coming. Now it is those that dance on his grave while they carry on with their slamming of Klipsch, LLC for ignorant reasons, start their political agendas, etc. On deleted threads: Michael Hurd threatened to take a chainsaw to Forrest and make his wife a weeping widow. Soundjunkie posted a driver's license of Forrest as Cheeta the Chimp. Numerous others made derogotory remarks toward Forrest. Kain previously decided to join a lop-sided thread in support of the Palestinians with his own support for their terrorism. Kain supports terrorism and brought it up first in this thread. If I remember Forrest's last words were inviting the blade to fall by said Webmaster and his cry of in the words of William Wallace: "Freeeedommm". This was 1/2 strike and you're out, and the rules were changed in midgame. In the end, Forrest's cause cannot and will not be deterred. But I call for the lifting of the ban on Forrest. The man some love to hate, but always entertaining and informative to me and most in one way or another. ------------------ live long & prosper
  8. WM, trouble is you also deleted my remarks in favor of Forrest and the case for fair play. I think you committed a total injustice in that you forced him into a corner. First you asked him to simply delete the posts hisself or you would do it? Why didn't you just delete the posts yourself instead of assuming the position of a hand spanking school marm with ruler in hand? You never mentioned banning him until Forrest apparently bested you by simply citing his rights. Did you forget you initially gave him two options: remove the posts/pics or I will do it? I don't get this at all. Now the dweebs have free rein to bash him just as they always have, but Forrest has no right to present a countering opinion? Klipsch has lost my business over this. I will instead get JBL Pro over the new Klipsch Horns. I don't do business with companies that think they're so large and grand that the individual consumer doesn't matter all that much. I can see where you and Jason the Kid bond so easily. What are you about 2 Years older. LOL Trouble with computer nerds is they obviously don't have much for people skills. But don't get too comfortable forum dweebs. ForrestHump has allies. ------------------ live long & prosper
  9. Ear, show me the review where 2 Ultra beat 4 Hgs-18 in output anywhere below 100HZ. Below 20HZ 1 ultra is about equal to 1 HGS-18 give or take a DB. Just look at the comp graph in this review and subtract 6db from the Ultras. And it looks to me that the HGS-18 does better down low than this test indicates. Maybe they werent let loose for the sake of that better quality. ------------------ live long & prosper
  10. Tom, I don't fault you at all for offering up the most subs the reviewer would allow. But you have offered up 3 or 4 of your subs before on this BBS when others have talked about using 2 of the higher price subs in comparison. So the question is where do you draw the line? A friend of mine uses 4 Vel HGS-18. You would have to use 4 SVS Ultra to at least equal those in loudness. And then there's the quality issues. ------------------ live long & prosper This message has been edited by cybergeek on 12-22-2001 at 08:46 AM
  11. YE One could get 6 KSW-15 for less than 3K. How would that stack up to the SVS ULTRA? Why did SVS get to use 2 subs but Klipsch for there KSW only 1? ------------------ live long & prosper
  12. quote: Originally posted by talktoKeith: Oh,I don't own a trailer cybergeek! Keith Oh sorry to hear you haven't made that step up yet maybe those tax cuts will help oh no you don't want that. it might make a rich person richer. you're willing to give up your own dough before that happens. If YOU read this thread this political debate started with your can't no difference in audio cables friend disco stating "Like so many things, we didn't appreciate the good we had until we begin to experience some real crap. As a President Clinton supporter, I think more people will realize how good things were during his term. When things are good why fight it. all everyone else but you did was debate such thinking, albeit a little heatedly at times. i agree with audio flynn mostly that a president isn't so much to blame. but you showed your true colors by calling everyone that didn't agree with your viewpoint stupid. you haven't and can't come up with anything to support your position that bush jr is to blame for the current recession. name one thing HE did. i think you find that your thinking is the true minority opinion and that irritates you. maybe if you could come up with any intelligent proof someone besides a brainwashed bitter liberal would support you. i've made my case in simple terms that bush did not cause this recession nor the terrorist attacks, and i've seen no real intelligent counter arguments to this. in fact i think he's done a great job in just a few months time. i think bush sr did a great job too but simply didn't win the personality, marketing contest. dole of course didn't have a chance in that since the initial disco political statement has not been proven and more so discounted, this debate seems over to me. this thread would best be closed. ------------------ live long & prosper

  14. but we didn't have a deficet when the tax cuts were passed. we did & still do have a surplus. now after other events like 9/11 that it's clear we probably will have a deficet you blame W for that. obviously either side can dance in hindsight all they want but nothing W has done will have any real impact until 2002-03 and beyond. the real reason you're upset over tax cuts are they put $ in the pockets of people with more money than you. face it disco & move on. ------------------ live long & prosper
  15. quote: Originally posted by discorules: I hear ya keith. I wondered about this lag time too. Would this mean that the glorious reagan economy was really the resposibility of Jimmy Carter. high. the negative consequences of bad policy START while the offender is in office but get WORSE as the solution takes office and on into that, 1 or 2 years max. that is called momentum. the 1st couple years of Reagan were the worst the economy got. nearly 12% unemployment in '83. then after the carter lag things got much better. then we had a normal recession under bush sr (the fed has a lot to do with things too). but it was already pulling out just as clinton took office. 3rd qtr GNP rose and was reported just before the election in '92. it's common knowledge the market started dropping in April 2000 and business spending began falling off a cliff in the Fall of 2000. it's now worse due to momentum, a snowball going downhill like effect. it's plain & simple bush jr inherited this recession from clinton. you guys can provide all the spin and hot air you like. i'm just providing historical documented facts. just give the guy at least til 2003 and then you might have some real facts to state. until then you're wasting time in any intelligent political discussion. like forrest pointed out, if you're still bitter over bush jr winning the election maybe therapy is your best option ------------------ live long & prosper This message has been edited by cybergeek on 11-30-2001 at 04:21 PM
  16. So Willie made up for Nixon so now we're all even. guess we touched a nerve with the southern dem keith. they're the scariest of all. keith you should have stood by your previous words and stuck with audio advice and selling out of your trailer. we had moved on. you obviously know a lot more about audio than gov ------------------ live long & prosper
  17. quote: Originally posted by discorules: By the way the people were serious when most of them voted for Gore. Yes, seriously wrong Disco I'm just giving you a hard time. these are endless debates. otherwise we wouldn't still have shows like Crossfire and all the others. i realize we have to come to a happy middle ground with government or we'll have a revolution of the proletariat on our hands I'd just suggest we agree to disagree and not mention politics or political figures on this forum. as for the lag factors or effects that goes deep into monetary and fiscal policy and economics like money velocity and momentum. it's really all about human behavior with money. Clinton could have gone for a tax cut last year and we might have avoided a recession this year. Just an example but the point is policy changes in such a large dynamic economy take time to work through it. When you get your money from a tax cut do you spend it right away, pay off debt right away, save or invest it for 3 years then spend it, pay a debt in 3 years? If you spend it right away does the person you pay spend it right away, save it for 3 years, and so on and so on? STL is right that the stock market is a great leading economic indicator. And it peaked in March/2000. And that the concurrent economic indicators showed a slowdown in the Fall/2000. I thought this was common knowledge. But the spins and opinions could go forever. Instead of wasting time philosophising about it, we just need to work hard, save/invest, pay off persinal debt and spend as we see fit. Oh, and vote. ------------------ live long & prosper
  18. hilly as pres? don't get no scarier. that Would be enough to bring back the beegees "Stayin Alive". Funny her 1st initiative was to eliminate the electoral college. she knows that with a popular vote she could win New York, lose every other state in the US, and still get elected president. then guess where all the tax dollars would flow - NY. don't even get involved here Disco. this involves math Anyway it's time to forget HillyBilly because the days of fun and games are over. We really have to be serious in choosing a pres now! ------------------ live long & prosper
  19. well it is easy to see why discorules loves clinton so. he works just like him. its called spin. that is twisting the facts to make a lie into a truth. very effective on people who have trouble following logic and common sense, also known as the average liberal. you take credit for good things for which you had little or nothing to do and blame your opponent for bad things for which they had little or nothing to do. you also don't take into account something for which you obviously have no comprehension after your Greenspan fed remarks. LAG FACTOR. the time it takes for good or bad policy to have an effect. what we're NOW feeling are the Clinton tax increases and mostly just that the guy didn't get anything done. same with anything proactive on terrorism. THE EMPORER HAD NO CLOTHES, literally in the oval office many times It's hard to plan when you manage in the rear view mirror based on popularity polls. Willie didn't get out soon enough. but he's gone now and his only legacy is that he taught us how to recognize spin and lies. that'll help in future votes. Discorules you need to let it go. ------------------ live long & prosper
  20. just as good an argument can be made that the deficits when clinton started were the result of out of control spending by a then dem dominated congress. that changed in the '94 vote didn't it? and the economy was already slowing under Clinton his last year. despite the longest peacetime expansion ever, the pres changed to a republican in '00 right? hummm maybe some connection there. the people of the states have and will decide with their votes. let's just leave it up to that ------------------ live long & prosper This message has been edited by cybergeek on 11-29-2001 at 03:44 AM
  21. quote: Originally posted by discorules: 1) In the 1993 Economic Plan, Clinton cut taxes for lower income Americans and small businesses while only raising taxes on 1% of the wealthiest tax payers. 4) Despite the sky is falling arguments from republicans, raised the minimum wage which inevitably raises the level for all American workers. Guess what, the sky didn't fall. The economy continued to flourish and the market continued its upswing. 5) Opened foreign markets through the signing and agreements of NAFTA, GATT, APEC etc #1 is false. doesn't deserve rebuttal. #4 is true. clinton did back this though it didn't make a big dif as min wage workers dont make a big dif in our economy. chalk this 1 up with his 1 other major accomplishment - the family leave act. #5 was a repub idea, but I do have to give Clinton credit for backing it. and Gore's job against Perot. but forrest is right. clinton only became a somewhat more moderate democrat because he had too. and most economic policies take 1 year minimum to just begin to show effects (btw Disco, your comments on the Greenspan fed show how misguided you really are on economic issues, but then again most true liberals are). the economy and the markets fell before clinton could sneak out of there. not so lucky as when he started in office. the first thing clinton did was raise taxes and cut taxes slightly only for the poorest of the poor. for bush it was cut taxes for everybody. let's just see what happens. ------------------ live long & prosper
