I am looking for speaker stands for a pair of RB-61s. What have some of you used in the past? And what is the best way to stablize the speaker since there is no place for a bolt or screw on the bottom of the speaker? Would neoprene pads work? I have been looking at these stands here

Yeah I found the 36" Stands on B&H for $97 shipped versus Sanus list price of $109, so I think I will order through them. They look pretty solid and I have not seen much in regards to complaints against them.

Link This is my current favorite, however, I was wondering if the 6" plate was too small for the RB-61s?

I am in need of a pair of speaker stands for some RB-61s I will be picking up later this week and was interested in what you guys would recommend using. I would like to keep the stands under the $150 for the pair. The RB-61s will be used as rear surrounds so the taller the better...I have been looking online at various stands however, I thought it would be best to gather a few opinions before I decide to buy anything.

I have decided to go with either the RB-51 or RB-61 as rear surrounds for my current setup. I have a Pair of RF-63's and an RC-62 for a center, all in a cherry finish. I was browsing through the spec sheet an noticed that only the RB-61 was listed to have the cherry finish available. I was wondering if anyone new if the RB-51 was available in the cherry finish.

I usually ask for prices around 25 - 30% of what they are selling the stuff for. If you know what you want and know how much you want to spend its a little easier to get the price down. I normally suggest whatever they offer is a little bit more than I'd care to spend and suggest that I might need to take a look at some other stores. Normally that gets at least 20% off the price tag, if your a frequent visitor it ends up getting you a little more.

After looking at that I might be in the market for a new receiver...

Fair enough, I have seen recommendations to use Outlaw products many times, but I have never had any personal experience with any of their products and was curious as to if there was a product that stands out or if it was simply look and find what you need.

What are you recommending, outside of the brand itself? I currently have an AVR 645, and granted 75W per channel isnt exactly the greatest in the world, but its more than loud enough for my living room, 16' x 16'. I live in an older apartment so I cant turn my system up too loud but its more than enough for my RF-63's and RC-62. You can find the 645 on JR.com for around $660, but if you willing to spend a little more ($950) and have any devices that use HDMI, you might want to look into the Yamaha VX-2700...it supports audio through HDMI and provides 144W/ channel.

I dont want to High Jack this thread but I am curious as to what the difference is between a direct radiating and the WDST surround speakers in terms of sound quality? Like I said in my post I am relatively new to all of this.

That really is a great idea...Thats how I got my RC-62 for $375...I purchased a pair of RF-63's from the same guy about a week prior, and walked in knowing I wanted an RC-62, I asked if there were and sales going on he says no, I suggest that the $450 price tag is a little too high and begin to leave, he says there might be a sale going on, talks to his manager and boom...$375 for an RC-62... Thats the one nice thing about going to stores where sales people work on commission. Of course the RC-62 is fairly large for a center channel so be sure, if you purchase one, that you have somewhere to put it, I had to build a hutch of sorts in order to support the 30lb beast of a speaker.

Okay besides WDST versus a Traditional style speaker, whats the difference between a pair of RB-61's and a pair of RS-52s?

Currently if you live in the KY, or Southern Ohio area, or even near an Entertainment Solutions I would check it out. They are having a pretty Huge Sale on Klipsch Speakers, recently I purchased a pair of RF-63s, and an RC-62 for $1300 total. As far as receivers go I have a Haraman Kardon AVR645 I got for $600 from JR.com. I think the three combined sound amazing and with the addition of some RS-52s for rear surrounds your only adding another $600 or so. However, I am fairly new to this whole deal so maybe it would be better if you take the advice of the posts above mine.

Alright Im just going to run this by anyone that might read this and let me know you thought on the setup I am proposing... Currently I have a pair of RF-63's Looking at purchasing a RC-62 for center channel RS-52s for surrounds and and RSW-10d... If anyone has any advice regarding this, whether it be, for or against the purchase of these additional speakers it would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking into purchasing some speakers to match up with my RF-63's and found a seller, AVB Direct, that was selling Klipsch Reference speakers at very low prices... I had searched around attempting to find out any reason not to purchase products from this seller, and the only information I could find was a random post in the AVS forum stating that purchasing these items at wholesale prices results in loosing the warranty support from Klipsch. I would like to know if Klipsch authorizes the sales of these speakers through AVB Direct and if the speakers sold by this Ebay seller are still covered by the Warranty offered through Klipsch.

My thoughts exaclty.... One somewhat off topic question; Has anyone purchased anything through a company called AVB Direct, they have a lot of Klipsch speakers, infact all of the speakers and the subwoofer I was looking for for really nice prices compared to local retailers. I just rarely order anything off Ebay and was wondering if they are good as their feeback makes them look?

Yeah thats true...Im just struggling to justify the $1600 for a sub?...I dont know. The center channel will certainl by an RC-64, I have heard the whole 60% of sound bit enough times to not want to skimp on that...Rear surrounds though are an even tougher choice...I mean not only is there the choice of the WDST or Direct sound from a traditional speaker, there is size coming into play.. I have never used a speaker that uses WDST so I dont know if I would really hear a difference, but, I have read posts in this forum of users not liking it all that much in comparison to a non-WDST speaker.

Thanks for the reply, I was basically trying to find a way to save a couple hundred bucks by using the RS-52 surround speakers instead of the RS-62, the only difference I saw in the spec sheet was the size of the drivers... Same with the Sub, the recommended sub is a 700W three driver sub, the one I was looking at is a single 12" and only 340W... Im just curious as to whether or not the difference in driver size or output will make all that big of a difference in terms of sound quality

I recently purchased some RF-63's, I got a fairly good deal on them, $950 for the pair, and I would like to build a 5.1 setup around these speakers. I notice that Klipsch reccomends the RC-64 for a center channel, and then RS-62s for surrounds, but my question is could I get away with using the RS-52's? As far as a sub is concerned I was looking at the RW-12d... Anyone see any reason as to why the RF-63s , RC-64, RS-52s, and RW-12d wouldn't mix?
