Tom,
To me I think 3D will go away........just like the Quadraphonic Stereo Units of the early 70"s did.................
-
Price wise.........www.crutchfield.com has it listed on sale for 499.00 for the Yamaha..............
-
Don't know if they would beat..............both are good.
wwstereo has the 660 for 129.00 ea which is a hell of a deal.....IMHO.

Also look at the C 717 receiver/dvd combo...............

I have heard both. Myself, I vote for the Jamo C 407. Three way speaker that has a smooth sound, granted it is only 6 Ohms but price wise and listening wise you will enjoy it more...........

I owned the 600 series and really enjoyed them...........
The RF 10 is the bottom line of the Reference Series..............

Check with Professor Thump, Klipsch Employee. He did this in his Basement and it worked out just fine.

Remember, your talking about a 30+ year old receiver. Just marvel how much Technology has changed and things have gotten smaller...............
Enjoy and don't get wrapped around the axle with the Numbers..................Enjoy the SOUNDS............[H]

To achieve more Presense, you would want to upgrade to the RF 83 series. (getting the RF 3 is going backwards). It is an expensive hobby........for sure..............upgradeites.............[] Getting a bigger Sub, I don't think will really satisfy your needs........
To my ears, the Older RF 3's hurt me and I could not listen for long periods. Where as the Newer RF series is much smoother and to me gives more punch..................

Stick with present setup..................62's in Front. Ain't broke, don't fix it..............

Another Idea is an Integrated Amp.
Creek Audio makes one with 80 wpc . Nice units but fairly pricey............ Lots of good deals on Ebay or audiogon for these. I used to have one that was 20 years old and worked like a champ...............
Don't know if it is still true, but Cambridge Audio, used to provide the Parts for Creek. Creek being less expensive.

Your welcome. Saw that Crutchfield was doing the Video.............knew you couldn't go wrong.
