The hd sound of blue ray is almost a bigger for me than the better hd picture. There are inexpensive ($350onkyo) recievers that will capture the hd sound from the hdmi connection and pass throught the hd picture via hdmi or component to your tv. It is worth it.

I agree the PS3 hd sound from the the hdmi connection really sounded noticably better any thing else I have heard. I even have a HD DVD that did not sound as good. I like to watch (listen) to concerts and I have noticed a huge difference in the music. I notice the quality increase to a lesser extent on movies. This may be due to the mastering/recording quality of the movies.
Does anyone have a reference sound track that they think diplays the best of HD audio?

Unbelievable pair of 1979 WO heresies. Brand new in the plastic, in the original boxes, with the owners manual attached. I picked them up in NYC. The address was west 192nd street. I was a little worried about the location. The seller offered to meet me in CT but the traffic was light and I was early so I drove in. I did a drive by and the area was not bad, lots of people on the street. The 20 something kid was very nice and explained that the speakers had been stored in the back of his family's beauty salon. I checked them out at the car and they loaded them up. Can wait to hear them when I get home tomorrow night.

I started with quartets. My illness has now progessed to cornwalls. I flirt with selling the quartets to try some belles or lascalas. If you love the sound its hard not to try all the flavors.

I have a Onkyo 674 that will be going to a friend. Looking at the new 606 and the pioneer elite 01. Wanted nad but they do not pick up the hd sound from the hdmi connection from my ps3. I have 2 other cheaper onkyos in the house and 2 others at school with kids. No problems with any of them and I think the kids really abuse theirs.

How did you obtain the code? Do they have codes for other products like an onkyo receiver?

I am looking for options for my new 5.1 setup. My room is 15 x 15 with a big right angle sectional in the middle of the back wall. See the picture. I am moving to heresys for the right, left and center. I have wall mounted PSB bipolar surrounds currently. I am worried that if i add 2 heresy surrounds they will be to close to the outboard listeners ears if they are on stands behind the sectional. Is there a wall mount that would voice well with the heresy?

I am very picky about choosing my veneer. I just about drive Oakwood Veneer crazy making them send me pics of veneer. It took me about 6 weeks to buy the veneer for this last pair of Khorns.

The seller asked for offers and I offered $300. I was going to have a friend pick them up for me but I decided to make the 4 hr round trip to pick them up toninght. I am moving to a full klipsh heritage theater set up. I will be selling a psb image 5 speaker setup soon. I will be loaning my truck to another friend on Sunday to pickup a pair of oak khorns. Horns for everyone.

Can't wait to try them. They will be used for travel and outside chores. As for my tastes I have had several grado headphone I am very happy with sound. I do not use them as much as I did in the old days of college. I still prefer cornwalls, tube power and vinyl to any headphone setup. How is the effiecency? I have noticed that I tend to listen to in-earphones pretty high in the volume range on my ipod classic.

No idea. I only talked to him briefly yesterday to tell him I wanted them. I am waiting for him to call me back to arrange pick up. I will ask him a few questions.

Decided to part with some american express rewards points. Should have a pair in a week or so. I will report back. I have been using etymotics but they developed a crackle in one side. I really liked them before the crackle but I am hoping for more comfort from the images.

I have another PS3 question. I am considering some receivers that do not have HDMI connections. Has anyone compared the component out (using an adapter cable) and the optical audio? How does look and sound compared to HDMI?

Very nice find. I have had new Pro-jects and highly modified older ARs. They don't sound as good as my TD-150. Happy spinning.

Saw Buddy Guy and George Thorogood last Saturday night at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. We had a group of 16 for my wife's birthday. Good time had by all. I have seen George fo each of his NH appearances over the last 7-8 years. Always a good show. He may have lost a step this year. I had saw Buddy Guy last year and he talked for most of the show, this year he played and played well. I think Buddy outshined George.

How do you reset the lamp timer? I was not able to find it in the menus.

I have kids so I will get an extra bulb. The clock on the first bulb was 1600 hours. I hope I do that well.

I got a demo 80g unit back in April and it worked for a couple of days and did the same thing. When I got sony on the phone I explained that I had done an update to try and solve the problem as well. They asked a couple of questions about what I had tried and gave me a return authorization. They sent a box and I sent it back and they sent me a new one in 2 days. No problems since.

Thanks for the input. The seller allowed me to try the projector and it blew away my Optoma HD70. The color saturation and the definition is great for my purpose. The price was good at $1500. By the way, the bulbs are $400 and are the same ones that are used on the benq 8700 and 7800.
