  1. Aren't the RB-75's timbre matched as well? I suppose that you could also use some RF-5 or RF-7 towers as well, but some may think that is overkill. It depends on what kind of listening you will be doing (movies/music).
  2. I have never noticed any difference in the speaker wire that I have used, but I have always just used the Monster Cable 12 guage zip cord and a Monster Cable Z2 for my center channel (someone gave it to me).
  3. Just remember to hook it up to a TV to configure it first.
  4. I think you'll really enjoy your current set up. Don't be in any hurry to upgrade unless you actually think that the sound quality isn't adequate for the kind of listening you are doing. I'm sure though that you could enjoy those CF-2's for many years to come though. I had 4 KG 3.5 towers that I enjoyed immensely for the last 7 years until I upgraded just this week to a pair of RF-3 towers. I really think that the funnest part of building my Klipsch setups has been finding the speakers for really good deals on craigslist; and then of course listening to the reward []
  5. Hahaha, I only wish that was my M1. I do love BMW's though and have had quite a few different ones. That happens to be the Andy Warhol ///M1, it would be worth millions of dollars if it were for sale (I think it is in a Museum somewhere though). Thanks for the suggestions of the KLF-30's you guys. Here's a good question though. How much do you think some black KLF-30's in good condition are worth, and how about a KLF-C7?
  6. I just got the opportunity to buy a pair of KLF-30 towers for about the same price I can get a pair for RF-5 towers for. I also have the option of buying a KLF-C7 at the same time which would replace the RC-7 that I currently have if I got the KLF-30's. What do you guys think... would you take a KLF-30 over a RF-5, and if I were to take it one step further, how does the KLF-30 do up against a RF-7? Thanks for any feedback!
  7. Definitely do not get the Reference center with the Synergy towers. I currently have a RC-7 with my SF-3 towers, but only because I'm in the process of moving front configuration of Synergy to Reference. The Reference and Synergy really don't work well together... mostly due to the titanium vs. aluminum tweeters. I think that your equipment looks great, but I think that you could step up to a RF-52 Home Theater System and probably only spend $400 more than you were planning on spending. The Reference series definitely has a more refined sound when compared to the Synergy series. The RF-52 system contains: 2xRF-52, 1xRC-52, 2xRS-42, 1xRW-10d http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rf-52-home-theater-system.aspx Hope that helps []
  8. A quick easy answer to your question would be that I wouldn't worry to much about it either way if one works out for your wallet significantly better. But there are few things to consider... Something important to take note of is that the S-2 surrounds are actually a more sensitive speaker and are thus going to be easier to drive at louder volumes with less watts. S-1 sensitivity = 88.5dB S-2 Sensntivity = 91dB Case in point is that because of the large sensitivity difference, you should probably stick with the Synergy 2 line from this point forward so that you can easily maintain a similar volume level and sound from all your speakers. Not to mention that the Synergy 2's are going to be easier to drive with so little power. It seems odd but true (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
  9. I like DVD Audio a lot, but have mostly just had a problem with the fact that it tends to need a monitor to navigate through the menus. I love my SACD's though!!!! I just wish that they were pumping them out. It's so sad that SACD and DVD-A didn't really make it, but what can you expect when most of the world listens to music through either a $100 boombox, some $40 computer speakers, or iPod headphones. Definitely stay as close to having all tower speakers as you can. I have 6 Klipsch towers and then a RC-7 center channel.
  10. So basically at this point I just need to wait it out and find either the RF-5 or RF-7 towers it sounds like. Thanks for the help you guys. I guess I'm just going to need to be patient [^o)]
  11. So now I'm just really confused actually.... I don't think I mentioned this earlier, but I actually have a RC-7 center channel as well. I previously didn't have room to hook it up, but at my new house in two weeks I'll have plenty of room. Is the RF-5 a better match to a RC-7 or RC-3?
  12. Ok, so now you guys have me really want to try to find some RF-7's, but I have no idea where to look. There is only 1 Klipsch dealer in Seattle and they are really just more of a commerical/professional install place. I have yet to see some RF-7's show up on eBay... Anyone want to sell me theirs? ;-) When you guys talk about a good amp, just how good are we talking about? I have an Onkyo TX-SR875 receiver that I just recently picked up with 140Wx7; is that good enough?
  13. I have four Klipsch KG 3.5 towers I got 7 years ago that I have been using to make up my 5.1 home theater along with a RC-3 II center channel. I have decided that I want to move to a 7.1 set up and am going to be retiring the KG 3.5 towers to the surrounds and purchasing some reference towers to better match my reference center channel. My question now though is which towers should I buy? I really don't mind replacing my center channel as well if the RF-82's don't match it correctly, but sonically which is a better speaker... the RF-82 or the RF-5 towers. I can pick up the RF-5's for about $100 more than the RF-82's and am having a tough time deciding so I was hoping that all of you guys could help out. Thank you for any suggestions. Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say. BTW, I know that the RF-5's are supposed to line up more with the RF-63's but I figured that maybe Klipsch is using the old RF-5 quality in the new RF-82's. I really hope to hear from someone that has experience with both.
