  1. No afil…: https://okaloosa.craigslist.org/ele/d/vintage-sansui-sf-1-end-table/6641730745.html
  2. He can keep his kisses...for my part...
  3. Dressed up like a deuce!
  4. There is much to be heard about old turbo...Romeo.😄
  5. You may be more inline with modern as opposed to older Jazz. Nothing wrong with that.
  6. Try Bill Evans for one. He has a tendency to bringout the vintage side of you. Very good in my and other's here taste.
  7. Think I read his stuff before. One guy has an external crossover that is able to quickly swap out different caps, resistors, etc. He has a crew of listeners over for a listen and to criticize each variance. Owned the 1's for awhile and had a pair of 2's briefly here. Must say the 2's blew me away, just as I thought they would. Was referring to an old Stereophile review when I was referring to the 1's. Article written by the two state, they were very reluctant to return the forte' back to Klipsch. It is in the archive here still somewhere, maybe.
  8. Looks rarified indeed...refreshing to see any masking tape on your collection. Rare also...thanks!
  9. Confessions can be good. Just remember that live yardbird album cover I posted. There are 3 and very collectible. One for each of the leads, it is a good place to start for Beck and the other 2 monumental legendaries. Good evening there, I say...;)
  10. Just remember to remember, a day without music is a day without sunshine(converse works also) or, to quote Denver Pyle, You got time to breathe you got time for music...😄
  11. In other words, a 3 way speaker being in spec, having all in balance doing their job, tends to give me a more balanced sound thereby having a clear and succinct message from the bass dept. The bass may then appear more enhanced when really, it was always there. Forte 1...according to a review by others is a hard speaker to ignore.
  12. Lol, you are very discerning...
  13. Lol, to lighten for a minute, is not it fun . It is very interesting subject matter. To feed the kids or not to. I can tell from your posts here tonight, you have read and take varying opinions seriously. Part of that may just well come down to taste what our aural cavities impart to the pleasure center of the brain.
  14. The history of the LaScala is another very interesting conversation that can be had here. To be short, it was a purpose built PA speaker in original and following model rom the original, with some variance in the preo version(s). Apparently it served it's purpose well and remains what it is and was, either a very good PA speaker and one pressed willingly into service as a musical reproduction speaker. Physics as it turns out from my research of the bass, remain a function of size as to it's lowest frequency range or bass response. Once again, I defer to others for elaboration.
  15. Typically speaking, the same brand of caps are used to recap x-oversEDIT(for the high and mid)The value of the caps are meant to be exacting as to replication of the replacements. Although this is not sacred, it is typical. Those here and suppose elsewhere like to experiment from experience so, they could mix and match brands, and even values to some extent, as to what they are trying to accomplish. Whether or not Mr. Crites would agree about the caps improving the bass or not, I would say both he and Dean would basically be in agreement. Air core inductors of a more than usual inductor, read size, quality, are of course more costly and may well improve the bass response. Whether or not it is an improvement, I do believe it can be measured, and felt, heard. It just seems that in regards to physics, size may well matter. Discernment to the ear however may be more subtle. Others can make a more consise answer to that. There is and remains an ongoing discussion as to regular good quality caps versus, their more exotic counterparts. Once again, I leave it to others to debate that question. There are vast conversations in the search archive about that here, of course. So, tweets and mids generally speaking have the same type or brand to refresh or some say, upgrade. The question is, are you doing it, or the people like those spoken of here do the task. All in my very limited opinion versus the vast knowlwdge of others. EDITED
  16. DeanG would be an opinion to guide you . He has done nearfield listening with them. Thing is, mine had the AL crossover that had not been recapped yet still sounded nice to me. Thinking mine had the K-33 woofer. I was satisfied with the bass, yet others add a sub for lower bass support. Satisfied all the way around I was. My next pair per forum member(s) would be to have the K-43 woofer. BTW, recapping the Chorus per DeanG does not improve the bass. The perception I had with the Clarity caps I got from him is that by improving the mid and tweet, my ears could more readily define the bass, if makes any sense. Having a speaker with fresh caps/ read in spec. varies from one ear to another per their taste. Yes, I see LaScala's again in your future, even Pro LS.
  17. Think so and look at my last post about the LaScala edit...
  18. Those look about the same shade as my oiled oak Chorus had. Never thought too much about it. Another thing is having all black, the gray tint/color could stick out more. On the LaScala, they are abit more sensitive and mine were lovely midrange to listen to. Will continue to read but, you may have to rethink and look more into the LaScala. It opened my ears for me, on a different level.
  19. Your thinking and mostly my experience goes along with yours. I would put the Chorus 1 in place of the 2's just for fun and, experience. The Chorus ! I had until recently satisfied my, in the chest bass needs. After recapping, the ones were even better. It would be a recap first and listen for abit as the Ti for tweet or mid can and do mellow or come into it after awhile. Same with new caps, having a burnin time to settle in. Will say more but thinking you are spot on. There is nothing shabby about the ones and, I am thinking you would appreciate the detail of the Tractrix more in a HT environment. What do you think.? You need to test drive those 1's at volume, in my limited but dedicated opine...
  20. From my limited understanding, a passive is basically the same as the material used for regular woofers. Probably works for polyurethane as well. May be a better choice the paint you mention. Now I will read your entire post. Thanks!
  21. That is one of the ones was thinking about...good stuff there...thanks but never saw them live Use the title on websites I go to to explain things. New Riders now with Dim Lights and thick smoke...is the only life he will ever...understand? Guess ya'll figured out, over at Hacienda #1...so keyboard happy.
  22. The Outlaws rocked! Really liked them and New Riders of the Purple Sage! Sounds like the Charger rocked as well...rolled...;) Think I will listen to Fleck or the JT...Mike good albums...
