  1. Hello, i have some questions about klipsch subwoofer RSW 10D. and that iz... are klipsch subwoofers same sounding like RF 82's? Coz my RF 82's sound good at bass only when the volume is between -3 to +6 Db. and above, but at the cost of all unwanted higher frequencies at ear piercing harshness as though from an ancient loudspeaker (most probably like the first one when it was invented). It does sound somewhat okay for ears at lower volumes (or at good times of our mind or the so called debatable/doubtful break-in time) but with little bass with much distortion when playing music DVD's (for movies there isnt any distortion). The performance of RF-82's prompted me to discard my plans to buy a klipsch subwoofer. Instead i was searching and visiting sites of Velodyne,REL,Paradigm etc.,(musical subwoofers). So if i buy one of 'em will it match RF 82's? or On the other hand if i buy RSW 10D,will it be a waste of money for low volume (peaceful) hearing? what could be the preferred room size for RF 82's? Does it sound good in BIG rooms? pretty confused... thanks everyone.
  2. Hi, Can anybody tell from where i can demo /shop velodyne or paradigm subwoofers in Dubai -U.A.E ? Thanks.
  3. no option to delete this duplicate posted stuff here. sorry again.
  4. I never beleived in speaker break-ins till recently. I am having RF 82's and it sounded harsh at higher dbl's. After almost one month use i suddenly perceived a drastic change in the quality of sound. i would put it as a kind of sound reduction similar to the Dolby thing with superb highs and lows, though i was using Mp3's (PCM). Earlier, i couldnt even raise the volume above -16db due to ear piercing sounds and had to cut down upto -26db to feel good to the ears and ofcourse with poor bass. But now i could start with -6 to -4db range. At first i thought my ears got break in! and was so astonished that i even inspected all speakers whether all of 'em are still working. Above -3 db still sounds harsh but i hope it will also change if this can happen. []
  5. Pretty confused nw! but my amp is Yamaha RX -V1500 (120W-170W). It doESNT have any impedance switch instead the impedence change is done with remote on OSD. Did you see Dr. Who' s post? what to say bot that?
  6. Ok. Thank you once again (it seems that you are some kind of Engineer from Klipsch[*-)] )
  7. hello, i hv a similar problem. i got a Yamaha amp. and the speaker impedance options from it are 6 or 8 (i prefer to use 8 ohms). As far as my front speakers are concerend, it can handle 8 ohm (RF 82's), but if i connect a subwoofer, does this impedance matters? Moreover, though i searched the specifications of Klipsch RSW-10D the impedance is not mentioned. so my question is does speaker impedance setting from amplifiers matters for Subwoofers also? suppose the input impedance & sensistivity of Subwoofer is 5 Ohms, then the sub gets damaged by the 8 ohms setting in the amp? Thank you.
  8. Will lighter gauge of wires could damage Speakers (RF 82) /Amp?
  9. Will a lighter gauge of wires could damage Speakers (RF 82) /Amp?
  10. Now that i decided to try bi-wiring, i would like to know expert opinions from you. i am using 2x2.5 cable for my RF-82's (it was written on the cable roll). In the users manual of Klipsch speakers it is recommended to use 16 gauge AWG cables. Those cables are fattier in looks and it have big sized copper strands in it. Can anyone tell me 2x2.5 is 16 gauge (AWG)? My second question is about another set of cables i have, which is thinner in looks and have many thinner strands in it. is it ok to wire using these two different gauges? if so, the lighter gauge should go on where? i.e., to the HF or LF section of the speaker? My yammie has provisions for biwiring. Thanks.
  11. Yes Mr. James thatz the advantage being there in US. [] Well, yesterday i played RF82's with a Muvee with Dolby/DTS EX recording (the old Titanic). man, no words for the quality! i feel that these speakers are designed for muvees.i dont know why harshness dont feel when movies are played instead of music. i have seen the same movie in a BOSE AM 15. And i feel the real difference now. i dont have surround or sub., but it was far better than AM15. But if we play PCM signals, the quality comes down. i never play in 2 channel stereo. i use standard/PLII in the Yammie.
  12. Finally all blames on poor Yammie! thatz no good. Actually i have heard RF 82's with my friends Denon 2308 (japan) also. Same effects for highs & mids.Yammie was even more nice sounding, user friendly and its YPAO was perfect when compared with Denon's. i think most probably (as some say here) its all about the break-in time of speakers.Try playing 'Guns n Roses' or any Jazz Song & 'Enigma' in RF 82, then you'll find the real difference. RF82 handles 'Enigma' perfectly and 'Guns n roses' will sound little noisy .i.e, the highs & mids are too much than expected. i am not an expert in the settings, may be there also lies something.
  13. Mr. Dee, i can even post a pic showing "made in china" written on the back of RF 82's!
