Not yet, I just finished the back enclosures this evening. I have been jamming for a few hours! The wife and son came out and both commented on how great it sounds; corners must be divine. I'll tell you this, no two support pieces are in the same place. I went a different way.

Why did it matter where the support pieces were located ?

I followed Davis 419's instructions and it went off without a hitch. Its so simple it makes me wonder why so many don't just do it. A $50 sheet of 3/4" gets them both done. There is also enough left of to cut a piece to fill the trim void at the bottom as well if its bothers you. I had plans to cut the small pieces, paint it all black and so on. I covered them pushed them in the corners the best my room allowed and it was so good I haven't pulled them back out. No screws in the cabs either, just shoot two screws in the side vent supports, top and bottom and two in the tail board supports and you're done.

To enclose them "properly" and keep a closer number similar to actual wall use requires cutting off the tailboards and cutting a new top, bottom and tailboard for the dog house, etc, etc. Even then you don't get the wall extension.  One day I will have useable corners, but I really like the ability to toe them out instead of being stuck with a 45* angle.

Max you did a great job of enclosing the backs on your khorns, I had my khorns stuffed back in the corners for 1 1/2 years and they never imaged. Once I enclosed the backs and toed them out the image is spooky good !

Always an option Don. I have been looking for ways to do that. Questions like how do I install them, do I have to screw into the bass bin.....

They do not screw into the bass bin anywhere they are attached to the braces of the side grills and the braces of the tailboard. I always use 3/4" birch plywood.

I suppose I will find out where the angle formed by left and right half walls puts the sweet spot or if I need to build moveable corners for toe.

Just enclose the backs and be done. It only takes about 3 hours !

    Hi E, Welcome!  :emotion-19:

First of all, superb choice on looking for the Forte II, what a great speaker.  The bad news is those who have them don't tend to let them go.

I track Heritage speakers on an informal basis, which means if something comes on the market from a forum member or if a forum member finds a Heritage speaker, I keep notes.  In the last three months there has only been two sets of Forte II speakers to come across my radar, both of those in the Dallas Fort Worth area.  A quick search of Ebay found a pair in Washington, and a set in Illinois.

Posting on this Klipsch forum I think may be your best bet to find some.  Good luck.

I also have a mint set of Forte II WO that I would sell in the DFW area but they are way too nice to consider shipping them !

It is possible but, not needed or should be done.  What is the problem?  One center channel should be enough for most rooms.

1 is great I just want to see if 2 is better. The second was has just been sitting idle for 2 years.

I've ran dual KG 2.2's as a center before and it worked out great. I placed them end to end under my TV, called them my poor mans 64. I'd be careful on how you wire them as stated above, some Receivers can't handle a low ohm load and will likely trigger it into protection mode. If you want my advice, I'd sell both of those Academy's or move them to rear surround duty and buy either a RC-64 II or a RC-7, you'll be much happier with a single, nicer center speaker.

I think I want to stay with heritage centers to hopefully sonic maych my Khorns better.

Just like batteries in series to increase voltage...connecting plus-to-minus connection between the Academies, and the remaining minus and plus terminals connected to your center channel amplifier circuit...it's much better to have 2x higher impedance than 1/2 lower impedance--like if you connected the terminals minus to minus, and plus to plus.  Having too low an impedance load can cause real problems with your amplifier.

Adjust the center channel output gain to match the two fronts.  Voilà!  You're done.

    Chris

I have been using 1 Academy for years and bought another one 2 years ago with this in mind. They both have Popbumper networks in them so they should match each other. One is great I just think 2 would be better. I will wire it like you said.

I have the same TV. It is a 2015 model so I hope you're getting a good discount. It's a good TV. Go to AVS forums a try out some of the color setting there. It has a good picture.

I have a Denon AVR-X4200. I have the receiver hooked up to the ARC HDMI, so I can control the receiver from the TV remote. This receiver also has Audyssey Platinum DSP Suite, which is the top consumer form of Audyssey out there. It also has DTS:X and Dolby Atmos for movies. Happy with the way it works for music and movies. Since it is last years model, I picked it up online for $750 out of Las Vegas.  Its will go up to a 5.2.2 system and will handle 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 with an external amp handling the extra two channels.

I had a DAC for music, but I'm liking the internal DAC in the receiver better for music.

Sorry my son has the c I am going to buy the d which is this years model.
