My old Hitachi plasma tv quit working so its time to upgrade to a Sony xbr-65x850d tv. I hate it but I am also going to have to upgrade my receiver to hdmi. I have had a Denon 5803 for the last 8 years without any issues at all. I am definitely going to miss the big power. I want to stay with Denon does anyone have any recommendations on what to buy ?

I have had K-horns on 13' wall since I joined the forum 8 years ago. For the first 1 1/2 years they were tucked back in the corner like they were supposed to be but they never imaged at all. I put backs on them and towed them out and they have imaged like crazy every since. Put backs on them and tow them out till you get the image you want !

I didn't get much response around tax time so I decided to wait awhile and try again.

Are the tags I'm seeing say Ch II OO?
Mark
Sure looks like it Mark. Owner says he bought them in the late 90's but those tags are from 1990. They look like they have never been applied to anything.

Surely someone has one of these cd players they are not using anymore now that a lot of folks are using music servers.

I think you are mistaken the picture you have was Mark's personal proto type pair and the one in this thread was indeed the final and only production version that was ever built and as far as I know 5 sets were the total sold. I could be misinformed but the number 5 came directly from the horses mouth (Mark himself).
I know for an absolute fact the amplifier I had in my shop was identical to the amp for sale in this thread and it was absolutely part of the original intro buy.
You could be right. I'm going mostly on memory which can be a dangerous thing sometimes.
My recollection was that the new design was initially intended to prove to himself if he could build the amps at a lower price point than the original version. He needed to build at least five (volume pricing I presume) and would give a discount to the first five that took his offer. Prices for subsequent builds would be at the intended price point after that initial offer. He ended up getting more than five people taking his offer and ended up honoring it to everyone.
I have in my posession serial numbers 15 and 16 which came from that initial offer. I assume that means at least eight sets were built. I also assume he did not restart the serial numbers with the new design, but that's just a guess on my part.
From what I can remember reading somewhere Mark built 10 sets. My serial numbers are 13 and 14 but I am not the original owner but I bought them from the original owner but I have no idea what he paid.

JMON I agree with you. I guess it is tax time and money is short but maybe the refunds will start coming in shortly !

Tubes seem to bring out the low end and dynamics on Heritage stuff. I've also noticed that big old receivers with big amps bring them to life pretty well. I'm not sure why exactly. Perhaps there is somebody who can shed some light on that.
Don't have tubes but my 8080db sounds phenomenal with KP250's Cornwalls and everything else I hook it up to.
+1 Best vintage SS receiver I have found to date.

Also, the ones in Wichta Falls were version I, the ones in Fort Worth are version II.
The ones in Wichita Falls were 83's so they could be 1.5's.

Those are a different pair but these will show up very soon !
oh, haha. looked close enough.
They look the same but they are different year models. The ones still on craigslist are WO and the ones that just sold were WL.

Is someone bringing these to Hope for me?
Hope it was someone on here who scored
I don't think so ! A flipper out of Ft,Worth got them as I was 2nd in line.
To me, they look like real keepers
They were keepers or I wouldn't have been willing to drive 2 1/2 hours each way to get them !
