It was very close as we just got the music system going mid morning today. I got to listen to it most of the day and then had to move it into the living room system. I had to make sure it was working before Rudy got here in the morning ! Lucky for me when I hooked everything back up and fired the computer up everything worked as it should. I now somewhat understand how to hook it up and play the music but just didn't know how to make it work the firdt time. This makes me happy. So glad you got it up and running! Thanks for your help !

Haven't heard from you in awhile hope everything is good ! I still have the SVS sub but like you I use it only for movies ! After adding 2 rsw-15's instead of the 684 sub I was using I was so pleased that I added 2 along with the Khorns front mains and very happy ! I have that same berhinger in my living room system that Rudy set up to active and I said I would never change it right to the point I saw the Oris horns.

The 402's will go in my collection . Who knows I may put them on top of a set of Khorm bass sind domeday !

So do all the Emos offer 24 bit sampling, or just certain ones. All three Emos are 24 bit. In order of production XDA-1, -2 and Stealth DC-1 (shameless promotion to crap Don's thread; I have the -1 available in the Garage Sale, the -2 will be when Don is done with it) I have some bad news for you . I will never be done with the dac so I am just going to have to buy it ! I am going to look into the xa-1 verses the dc-1 as I am going to buy another one. I know have 2 Cambridge Audio for sale. Good thing is I only recognize a few of them so there is going to be a lot of new music to try. I have heard different artist mentioned here before but would not buy it just to try it. Now I will try everything atleast once if I live that long. I am listening to Diana Krall right now and really like it.

Joe first let me say Thank You very much for pointing me to the Oris horn deal ! It is the only horn in the house that is not Klipsch. I think its ok since they will be sitting on top of KPT-904 bass bins with 2 RSW-15's .Since I will be doing this over the next 3 days I will have 3 different comparison's. I definitely think I am saving the best for last ! This is a meesage I sent to Blair., Rudy is coming over Sunday to get the Oris up and playeing. I don’t know if my old heart can stand 2 major improvements to the music I will be hearing over the weekend. Today I will listen to my K-horn/RSW-15's system and tomorrow I will move the music server into the living room with the 904 bass bins / 402 horns / RSW-15's and I already know that is going to sound better. Sunday Rudy and I will put the Oris horns on top of my 904’s / RSW-15's and I am pretty sure that is going to sound AMAZING !

USNRET you are "THE MAN" ! T fellow I bought this system from finally got a chance to come make it work. After 2 hours still not a peep. He said it was going to take someone smarter than him to make it work. "THE MAN" done told me to use a optical cable rather than usb. I stole the one off my dvd player and used it.. When he rebooted now you could hear the sounds it makes when coming on line. Clicked on an album and hit play WOW isd all I can says. I spent 20 minutes hanging up moving quilts where he said and noe with both these K-horns and RSW-15 subs is the best I have heard them since purchase. Thanks to everyone who tried to help !!

I have been working on it for about an hour with no success ! I got it to load the driver I think but still no music. I called the guy I bought it from and he tried to help but I couldn't get the screen he wanted to come up .It appears you have to go into foobar and tell it the new device you want to use. Believe it or not I am learning a little bit but not enough to make it work.

Hey Rudy, All 5 boxes with all of the Oris horns and drivers came today in perfect condition. Blair did superb job of packing. I wasn't sure how I was going to like the Audi blue horns but in person they are stunning. Can't wait till we get time to get them up and running. This Ebay deal seems to be good as all you need is the electronics and you are ready to go.

I also run my Oris without the back plate. I liked the sound better, more open in my opinion. However, I did leave the felt in the loading chamber. I had the pleasure of going to Rudy's house this weekend for a listen to his Oris horn"s and opem baffle bass speakers and first word that comes to mind is OUTSTANDING ! I wanted to know what they sounded like prior to Rudy setting mine up this weekend. My Oris horn's will be sitting on top of KPT-904 bass bins.which I absolutely love the bass they put out. I was looking for somewhat of a different sound in my 2-channel system and I can already tell I wont need to look any further. I never thought I would change the system I have now with the KPT-402. KPT-904 and RSW-15 on each side of the room but once I saw these after knowing how much Rudy liked them it was a no-braimer !

Patience is one thing I don't have a lot of when it comes to stereo gear, That's why I have always had plug and play stuff until lately. No need to make a special trip as the Oris horns should be here by mid week and we can do it all on the same day. Also Mike's Emotiva x-over will be here by then which should make it much easier. Thanks Rudy for all of your help !

This helps the OP how? Cambridge audio got back with me this morning verifying that the unit I have will not do 24bit from the usb port. USNRET is sending me one of his Emotiva 24bit dacs and this should solve the problem. Thanks Again Mike !

I was about to wonder how we got 7 pages in one afternoon. Unfortunately it is fairly elementary. 1. List the hardware products 2. List the software you are trying to use, operating system and player 3. List what types of files you are trying to use 4. List settings in the sound configuration 5. List connections and cables 6. Tell us if the devices show up and recognize each other, if not you're in big trouble. 7. With most of that info and going pure digital to a dac, an answer should be in short order. You are either doing and using something wrong (file formats, etc) or the hardware is broken. About all there is to it for non-video encoding and surround sound. (basically stereo). Sorry not trying to sound bad but all this info should be itemized in one place as a reference point. Just trying to help because 7 pages in one afternoon is a little like shooting bird shot. If I missed it in seven pages, please let me know. Yes you missed it ! Problem is I don't know anything about any of it so that's why it is taking so long.

4 boxes are on thier way today and the box with the horns will ship tomorrow as Blair could not get it in his car. I haven't got a clue why this line is going thru my post.

Do you have the newer dacmagic 100 or the older one.

I was not being disingenuous. This is the point where I went to someone who was more computer literate than me. I do not understand what you mean when you say that mine does not say "Dacmagic 100 in the corner," Are you talking about the webpage or the DAC itself? No the dac itself does not say dacnagic 100 on the front like the one on their website does but the last 4 digits in the serial number say 0100 so I do think it is an older 100.

I don't have a clue which set up guide to use.
