  1. Hey Jesse, this is Matt the guy who sold you the RF82's. So glad you're enjoying them. I would have loved to had heard them on a proper amp - they must really come to life. Sounds like your system has really come together. Congrats man!
  2. hi nezff, until last week I had a pair of RF-62's as my surrounds in a 5.1 system. I have the RF-82's as my fronts and have compared both pairs side by side. If you're using a sub then the difference between the 82/62 isn't very noticeable. At least to me! I'm now using RS-52's as my surrounds and here's my conclusion: the sound is more enveloping, but not as *rich* or full. It's a tradeoff that I'm pleased with though because my room layout was a little tricky. We now experience that "surround" effect and very happy. I say if you have the space and funds go for the extra 62's.
  3. The Descent (Uncompressed PCM). Incredible sound. Sharp/detailed picture with cool splashes of color...when it's not pitch black. Fun horror movie. The surrounds really make you feel like you're down in he cave. The echos, the water dripping, dust/dirt flying around, etc etc etc. When the shxt hits the fan some low thumpin' John Carpenter-ish music starts bumpin and it's a barrage of sound coming at you. Love it! I vote for Blade Runner too. Feels like it could have been made in 2008.
  4. Thank you! The Misfits sound insane! All I'm missing is the pit. [6] You just made me think of this: I've got a copy of some crazy Cramps concert at a looney bin I have to throw on the system. Probably sounds like garbage but I gotta give it a whirl!
  5. So far I'm pleased. The rug we lay down in front helps, and I get plenty of bass back at the couch. The little Sony sub I have is front firing and really does a decent job. I'm in a townhouse so I can't really get too crazy with the bass right now. One day!
  6. Thanks guys! I borrowed a little Sony 8" sub that sits next to the sofa. It doesn't too sound bad, especially for free! Thanks for the advice, I toed the fronts in (and the backs a little) and re-ran Audyessy. Sounds even better now! Good idea on the projector. I tried to get my wife to go that route, but she said to wait until we have a basement. She is eager to get out of our townhouse so hopefully it won't be too long! []
  7. Howdy! Got a good deal on some speakers to replace my surrounds....so here we go. Room treatments are next. We usually move the sofa up for movies and angle the speakers in a bit more. Also a rug is thrown down. I love the sound of the Reference series for movies. Klipsch is where it's at. STOKED! 5.1 Sytem: RF-82 / RF-62 / RC-62 Onkyo TX-SR805
  8. Hi, new to Klipsch with a quick question. Here's my dilemma: I'm about to finally sort out my surrounds and upgrade to some Klipsch Reference to match my fronts and center. I would like to get the RS-52's, but not sure if they are the best route. My sofa has to be up against the back wall, and this is the only place I can mount them. Putting them on the side walls is not an option. On the paperwork I've seen it looks like they should be placed on the sides slightly in front of the seating area. Wish I could do that but I can't. I currently have some bookshelf speakers on tables in the corners. Would I be better off getting some Klipsch RB's and sticking to the same layout (with stands instead)? Thanks for the help!
