    RW-10d help

is there any certain sub interconnect that I should use, also is it better to have those sub interconnects that have the Y split so that you can plug in to the right and left sides of the sub?

    RPW 10

I was going to get it, then I upgraded at the last minue to the RW10d. WOW
  4. they seem very similar, the onkyo has one more HDMI input. also it has THX select 2.
  5. for some reason full band sounds good. but i did run my RF62s at 60hz, my RC62 at 60hz and LFE at 120hz. I had to bump up the sound volume to +6db for some reason it sound like less bass when I crossed them over. dont know why, I guess because when you run everything at full band, double bass setting is on inside the ONKYO. thanks
  6. that a boy! i could have sold you mine, i want some 82s now or even 63s.

    RF-82

    what exactly is muddy?
  8. i dont think RF62s are double the price of RB61s. I think just another 200 bucks here. you can get a pair of 62s for about $620 plus tax.
  9. alexandria. New Orleans=NASTY [:$]
  10. Are you being sarcastic? Is this a bad choice?
  11. Youthman was right, I was in between the RF 82s and RF 62s. I opted for the 62s, the 82s had a little more bass, but for the money they werent worth paying an extra $175. I was already over my spending limit because I was originally getting a $1000 system and ended up upgrading to the RF62s,RC62, and RW10d for a total of $1482 with tax. onkyo receiver was $400 also. The RW10d is a monster also. I have a 31x15 room and it hits very hard.
  12. I am wondering the same thing. I just biamped my RF62s on my Onkyo 605. It actually has a place on the rear panel that says BIAMP. I just removed the straps and ran an additional + and - to the right rear channel and the same for the left channel. They do sound a little stronger, could also be just my imagination. I know there is more power going to them correct? My onkyo is rated at 90watts per channel. My 62s take RMS 125 and 500watts peak. Not sure if I did it any good, but I had some leftover speaker wire and bananas laying around, so what the hell.
  13. you can always upgrade and sell the old stuff.
  14. get yourself a RC 62 center along with the RF 62s. I just purchased the same setup. very nice. I actually demoed the RF 82s compared to the 62s. The only difference were they were a little more bassy than the 62s. For $175 more, they didnt sound that much better plus I was already over budget since I upgraded to the RF62s from the RB61s, and upgraded to the RC62 from the RC52. hope that helps.
  15. I ended up getting 14AWG wire from partsexpress.com. It is made by Dayton Audio. Oxygen free copper.
  16. OK, OK. I think I finally got it after days and hours or tweaking and listening. I have moved my sub to the right side of the room next to one of my RF 62s. I ran audyssey the other day and was pleased with it, so Im keeping that setting. I now have the RF 62s and the RC 62 crossed over at 60hz on the receiver. The sub is set to LFE mode with the DEPTH setting engaged. A +6db increase on the subs digital display and a +6db increase on the sub on the reciever. +3 on the RF62s and 0db on the RC 62. I ran numerous movies and it sounds great! The volume sounds very good at around 45-60. Guitar Hero III and Rock Band sound great in Dolby Digital too. wow. thanks again guys.
  17. sorry man. I just placed my sub in the front of the room facing out. the left and right sides of the room get the most bass. I cranked the sub up a little to +6db. I cranked the subwoofer level up to +6db on the receiver also. It feels like there is enough bass now in action scenes.
  18. I just got off the phone with michael colter. I talked to him about crossover frequencies and sub placement. I now have my sub up front on the right side of the tv. I also bumped it up from 0db to +6db. On the receiver I bumped it up to +6db there also. I also changed from PUNCH setting to DEPTH. Sounded strong. I also cut my RF62s at 60hz, and my RC62 at 60hz. I will tinker with 80hz on both in a bit. I need some good material to test this stuff out on. Does anyone know some good action scenes with good bass output? I have a ton of movies. thanks
  19. I would put it in the listening area FACING the tv correct? Then crawl on the floor to find the sweetspot?
  20. yes yes, i read that also. ill try it
  21. you dont think maybe i should put in the center of the room facing the listening area?
  22. here is my setup, not really sure if I could do better with sub placement. I would like to try though. any feedback guys would be greatly appreciated.

    Two Subs

let me ask this. I have the RF62s,RC62, and 1 RW10d. I have the onkyo 605 which has one sub output. Would I need a splitter or RCA Y to hook another sub up, also would it matter if I got a RPW10 for the second. Or maybe just get a RW12d instead of two subs. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I think I may have gotten it. I ran Audyssey again on my two RF62s and RW10d. I made myself a somewhat of a tripod out of two pieces of plastic sticks taped together and set the mic on top of that about 4feet from the floor. I ran the test and it measured the speaker distance almost right on. I changed a couple things but now the Audyssey EQ settings seem a little brighter than before which is very nice. the speakers sound more full. I have them set to FULL BAND and I am playing around with setting the front speaker crossovers to 120hz. They sound better by setting them here since my sub is set to 120hz. I found by setting the floorstanding speakers to 40,50,80,or 100, the bass seems a little lower in volume. these speakers frequency response is actually 38hz-23,000hz. but I see by setting them to anything lower than 120hz, them take away the bass that would be going to the sub. I think the sub is taking everything from 120hz and down, and the floorstanding is taking everything from 120hz and up. Just a guess.
  25. Would it be the setting that you see after you run the Audyssey program? Say you set everything to "0" then you run the program, can you go back and look thru every setting and see what it is? James you can see speaker distance, speaker crossover, and speaker level calibration. that is fine, but you cannot see the actual eq settings it makes for you. It actually sets a eq curve for the subwoofer also. just wish I could tweak it a little.
