  1. I found this one in the apple store .... http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC598ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOQ#overview Can somebody tell me if they work on the iGroove SXT dock ?
  2. Hi everybody, I own a Klipsch iGroove SXT dock. Works great with my old 3G but since the day before yesterday, I own a second-handed iPhone 4G. The shape of the phone is different so I searched between my adapters, which came along with the dock, for another adapter to make the 4G fit into the SXT dock. There is one that almost fits but not completely. It workes, but sometimes It looses one channel because of bad connections with the socket also caused by vibrations while playing music. The back of the phone is also not supported, not lying down in the dock ... if you know what I mean ... Is there an adapter availible from Klipsch to make the 4G and maybe also the 4S fit nicely into the socket of the SXT ? Help appreciated [:^)]
  3. Can you tell me more about this magic marker jacksonbart [*-)] It's probably a kind of a tool but what does it and what does it look like .... I'm from Belgium ... probably we have a same kind of tool too over here but called different you see. In the mean time I'll google it @ironsave ... I think it's lacquer finished .... if I look very close at the corners .. it looks like there is a kind of a finishing layer on top of the used wood ... I suppose that's what you mean
  4. Hi guys, I noticed that one of my classic maple coloured RF-7's ... the one that is place closest to the window ... a window which is at the north-west side of the house and allthough not much sunlight is coming inside from that direction ... I can notice a colourchange at the side which is directed to the window. It's getting a kind of old coloured yellow [] Maybe a stupid question ... but is there a way to get the colour back in it's original state ... that nice maple colour ? I've been very carefull and closed the curtains each time when in summer the sunlight did get inside the room from that direction .... but still ... [:S]
  5. Ok,.... this will be a no go [] The problem is that the RC-7 is hard to find for a reasonable price in europe .
  6. Hi guys, got my eye on a rather cheap second hand RC-10 over here in Belgium .... on eBay. So ... I wonder if it will be matchable, if the timbre of the speaker will go along with my RF-7's as main and RB-15's as surround-speakers My AV receiver is a Marantz SR4001 and has the possibility to crank each channel up some dB's in the menu. I could do that to match the sensitivity of the RC-10 speaker. I did this before with my RB-15's and it works fine. What I like about the speaker ... it isn't that big ... and I can easily put my Panasonic plasma television on top of it. What do ya'll think ... should I give it a try [*-)]
  7. $100 ..... you're one hell of a lucky guy ... have fun with the RF-7's ... you won't regret your buy for a minute ... be sure of that [Y] What a deal ... what a deal !
  8. Believe me wuzzer,.... iI already tried that and .. the main issue over here is that my room doesn't allow me to do a lot of shifting with my furniture so .... I decided to go for the SUB-12 Also because I used to have a Harman Kardon 5.1 set with a 10" downfiring woofer 250Watt ... I had a nice low back then. The SUB-12 in combination with my RF-7's .... hmmm I could get a brand new one out of germany on eBay for a nice price ... so I decided to go for it. 389€ ... that's at this very moment 517$ US and that' a very nice price for that kind of sub over here in belgium.
  9. You got it completely right CEC ... my friend has the same speakers .. same amplifier. Listening position problem ... hmmm ..... I already noticed that when I bent over my table that the bass response gets better. And the room doesn't allow a lot of moving around with my furniture ...
  10. A kind of both realy ... HT and music ... it's also a kind of an acoustic problem that I have over here and I want to fill up the void spaces where there is a lack on bass. I have a nice low ... like in my toilet downstairs .. not the place where you watch HT or listen to music offcourse ... That's why I'm looking for an affordable good sub which will have as main purpose to support my RF-7's. I have a really nice receiver .. Marantz SR4001 ... but it has already the bass upped at it max. --> +6dB to get a decent low. A friend of me has exact the same set-up ... other kind of room ... sounds great over there ... perfect low ... all inputs set to "source direct"... perfect. My room is like this ... Distances are in metric meters so I converted them for ya'll 8m60 = 28.21 feet 5m60 = 18.33 feet 3m60 = 11.81 feet 1m60 = 5.25 feet The little brown rectangles are where my RF'-7's are located ... turned in to the listening position ... both on Soundcare Superspikes .. about 1.5 feet away from wall and corner.I tried all kind of positions ... a bit forward, backwards, sidewards, angle ... believe me ... there at there best position possible at the moment. Red are seats .. in front of it a rather big low marble table, underneath a carpet .. tile floor. Listening position is in the middle of the room and there is no possibility to turn everything 180 degrees around ... not enough space on the other site. Low is good in the top part of the picture where my kitchen is and at the opposite wall of where the RF-7's are So ... I guess a sub should or could help over here .. what do you think ...
  11. So you mean a Sub 12 ...not a KSW-12 ....right ?
  12. Hi everybody .... KSW-12 Your opinion about this sub please. I'm looking for a rather cheap sub to go along with my RF-7 speakers ... just to give some support in the lower frequency's. I can do a nice bargin over here on eBay ... only 198€ for the KSW-12 which is not much money. I listen a lot of cable radio and I don't have lot of low when I listen to that source ... DVD, Movies are fine .... Would the KSW-12 be a bit of a match with my other speakers ?
  13. Not enough current even at low volume ... is it that what you mean tkdamerica ?
  14. And how do you connect a sub like the RW-12d to a receiver ? I have a Harman Kardon receiver which has a sub-out connection. Now what I have read here and there is that there are different ways to connect a sub; - using the high inputs should be the best for pure stereo-mode - using the sub-out on the receiver ... the best way for movies ... the LFE channel you know - I've read that a combination of both is also a possibility in some cases .... ???? So ... what do y'all think about how to connect a sub to the amp ?
  15. I power the RF-7's with only 40Watts a channel in stereo-mode which is more then enough for me askbob1 [] Even in surround mode,.. where there is only 30Watts a channel, they still go very very loud. Today a guy came by and brought his Denon AVR-1909 receiver with him to check if yhe Audessey-function on that receiver could solve my "low"problems. Nope ... not really .... the sound enhanced a bit but I'm still missing those very low frequency's at my listening position so the option of buying me a sub ... probably the RW-12d ,.. is open again.
  16. Roger .... the RSW-15 is way above my budget so that's a no go [*-)] I guess,.. if I buy me a sub,..it will be the RW-12 or the RW-12d but I cannot exactly figure it out what the differences are between those two. It looks that the spec. differences are not that big ... the price differences over here in belgium are !
  17. Hi Roger,.. first off all, a pic of my room over here ... sorry guys .. it's in meters and centimeters,.. I live in Belgium Europe you know. So 5m60 = 560cm = 18.37 feet 3m60 = 360cm = 11.81 feet 1m60 = 160cm = 5.25 feet The pic. is not so accurate ... but the distances are. The big couch is exactly in the middle of the room. Distance between the RF-7's --> 7.9 feet Distance listening position to RF-7's --> 8.85 feet brown: RF-7's turned a bit to the listening position and rather close to the wall ... about 1 feet .. to have a little more bass. red: 2 couches .. the biggest is the listening position. black and white : plasma TV and in front of it, a rather big marble table Harman Kardon receiver AVR132 (2x40Watt stereo mode, 5x30Watt surround mode) I'm rather a stereo listener but I do like a very good surround sound when I'm watching a movie. As surround speakers,... I have a pair of bookshelf's RB-15 which do the job very good. The problem over here is that I'm missing the really low frequency's,.. the ones you hear in explosion scenes in movies for instance. I feel them .. but I don't hear them. When I hold my head above the table or stand 3 ... 4 feet behind the couch ... plenty plenty of real eartshaking low. It's like I'm sitting at some kind of a dead spot for the low frequency's so I hope that a sub can fill this void a bit.
  18. Hi there,... I need a sub that will match good with my RF-7 speakers to fill up the void spaces in my bad acoustic room over here. Will the RW-10d be a good deal for me ?
  19. I live in a little village about 5 miles away from Ghent (East Flanders) You're from Dallas,... been in Fort Worth about 7 years ago to visit family of my former wife that migrated over there. All I can remember is that it was the end of april and it was already getting hot over there, + 90 degrees F ... nice. To talk about my amp,... it's like I'm missing a "Loudness" function on my HK ... something that gives me that extra little bit of power on the low at low volumes because that's what seems to be the trouble over here. At higher volumes ... it's rather OK ,.. low volumes ... [*-)] I wonder if Marantz is better in handling those things,.. the low at low volumes ....
  20. No ... no pré outs available on my AVR132 .. pitty. I'll see what I can do ... I'm a bit tight on budget now. Maybe I'll buy me a Marantz AV receiver or so ... later ... not really a high-end amp ... rather something like the SR4002. Looks good enough for me .... has pré-outs,.. hdmi switching ... and has 80W RMS/channel. My HK has only 40W RMS/ch.
  21. I have my RF-7's hooked up for about a week now on my HK avr132 and .... I don't t know ... it's not what it's suppose to be I guess. I have a problem with the low frequency's ... they don't seem to sound right ... I'm kind of missing a warm sound on the low,.. mid and high are more then ok. I've tried to experiment with the position of the RF'7's ... with the rubber feet, .. now there on the spikes ... the source seems to be important to .. DVD, HTPC, cable radio, TV ... but the overall sound doesn't satisfy me [] At higher volume it's rather ok but not on lower volumes ... It's like I'm missing the sound of a "loudness' function which I don't have anyway on the HK. Is my amp the problem or do my RF-7's need to losen up a bit .... [8-)]
  22. It's all about those currency's between the US and Europe. The $ USD stands rather weak compared with the € these days. A couple of years ago at the start of the € here in europe ... you had approx. 1 $ USD for 1 € ... not anymore though. Ratings are now like 1€ = 1.47$ USD at the moment. For us europeans,.. america is a lot cheaper then it used to be .... cheap to go to and to buy things ... thats without no customs calculated in offcourse []
  23. About the XFS standalone post ... or how do you call that thing .... is it suitable for use with the bookshelf series RB-10, R-15, RB-25 .... and so on ... or is there another one that must be used with those kind of speakers.
  24. Just to give ya'll an idea what a RF-7 costs in europe ... I live in Belgium,.. we use the Euro over here. I ordered myself a pair of brand new RF-7's for 1.250 € in the Netherlands, should be now 1.849 $ USD Normally you see them go for about 1.500 €'s over here .... 2.217 $ USD 2 years ago a friend of me bought them too in holland for 3200 €'s ---> 4.733 $ USD !!! Still,.... 1.250€'s over here is al real good bargin .... very cheap [] ... and that's all without shipping costs !
  25. Thx. DrWho ... good advice. I didn't think about the fact that indeed a possible 70% of the track is going through the center speaker and no ... I don't want to buckle down extra €'s .. a pair of RF-7's and RB-10's is enough money spend at the moment. 1250€ for the RF-7 set and 199€ for a RB-10 setto be exact. I live in Belgium you know and I'm going to get the speakers in The Netherlands ... they are cheaper over there . Tax difference.
