  1. What sub is that in the picture.

And nothing wrong with starting young. I got into stereos and purchased my first setup when I was around 11-12. And I spent like 700$ on it. Did a lot of chores, mowed a lot of lawns, and hit a ton of home runs. (Dad always gave me 10$ for a home run).

That is the Outlaw Audio LFM-2. Quite the sub for only 8". Discontinued now, sadly.

Now that I'm a bit older (25) I have even MORE respect for what I bought at 18 and have managed to maintain thus far. I agree with you though, Bust your A** and you can get what you really want and it's worth it.

  2. I talked to trey on the phone the other day and he said he doesn't get on much more. But he definitely is still in the Klipsch family.

Well that's good to hear. It was a pleasure meeting him oh-so-many years ago and doing business as well. I told him that these speakers will be VERY well taken care of and that's been true so far. Hard to believe it's been 6 years since I picked these up and completed my HT. I was only 18 when I joined here. Very humbling to look back at my experience

  3. I never knew the Synergy line had cherry. Those are very nice indeed. Nice system!

Indeed they did! Klipsch marketed them as an overseas item and that made them VERY desirable to me and pretty much anyone else in the US haha. The serial numbers on my front speakers end in numbers 1 and 2 B) Very cool IMO. Not too many of these stateside.

  4. Just a little update to my HT here. I haven't signed into this site in quite sometime so, I'm happy to say that I'm back and I've added an Xbox 1 and a PS3 to my Cherry finished Syngery F2 5.1 setup. All these years later it all still looks and sounds AMAZING.

Is Trey Cannon still around? His old speakers (my Cherry F2 fronts) are still in GREAT shape. I love my Klipsch speakers. Enjoy :)

  5. Hey everyone!

t's been a LONG time since I've posted here but, just wanted to chime in and say that after all these years I am still happily enjoying my Klipsch speakers and haven't felt the need to change a thing. Here is my setup. (1 of 5 pics )

  6. Honestly, I like Bose but don't dislike anyother brand! I have heard many Klipsch speakers over last 1 month. I liked them, but then, If I am forced to avoid Bose, then I would prefer Mirage. Klipsch, Definitive sounded very inferior in front of Mirage and Bose.

Bose bashers target this brand through following arguments:

    a) Bose thrives only on Marketing
    B) Bose uses cheap material (Paper) for making spearkers
    c) Bose speakers doesn't give you highs and Lows
    d) Its over-priced

Let's take it one by one.

    a) Marketing gimmick:

Well.. if Bose can do great marketing too, why it can become or must be treated it as its 'weakness'? If other 'great' brands can't do even average marketing then it speaks volume about their capability to 'attract' good Marketing Talent!

The so called audiophiles 'hired' by competitors to throw mud at Bose seem to be the only 'talent' these companies can acquire!

Second, if a company can reach pinaccle in Brand recognitions and loyalty surveys charts only through Marketing, then General Motors would have been best brand too! :-) Please check this: http://bink.nu/Article6625.bink

    B) Cheap Material:

That make me laugh even more!

Wow.. if Bose has such a tremendous design and engineering prowess to make sound paper as good as speakers with "space age" materials from other makers, then again it speaks volumes about other companies and their 'Engineers' and Products! :-)

Other 'giants' must close their shop in shame. However, I must say, there are some brands I mentioned above of which I am aware of, they are wonderful too!

    c) No High No Lows?

If true, then there must NOT be any presence of highs and lows in the source sound. The sound has to be produced as such without 'tinkering' with it! That's the philosophy of good sound quality in my view. If one want and are habitual of hearing accentuated Bass, Treble etc., then I won't debate!

However there is NO proof with facts that Bose speakers don't produce range of frequencies that are produced by other. In my view, it may be othreway round.

    d) Over Priced?

Possibly. I am ready to concede. However, the other "Much Greater Brands" which can produce far greater sound and quality pact are priced at a level of Ghetto speakers sold at Wal-mart then it speaks confidence level of those "Greater Brands".

Its like arguing BMW and Benz are 'overpriced' against price offered by GM! :-)

You know I've been reading all these posts of yours and the only conclusion I can come to is a question. That is...WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH HERE?
  7. Alright well here they are. I am going to say without a doubt in my my that theses are substantially better than the S1's as surround speakers. They have a larger sound field and reveal alot more detail in the surround channels. Sonically, they are a near perfect match to the F2's(6.5 IMG woofer,1" Aluminum dome tweeter) making them one of the best upgrades to my system. I'm much happier now with my sound and I feel comfortable enough saying I have a complete 5.1 cherry synergy set-up.

With the fan only being $10 and fitting my needs quite nicely and I already had DC converter laying around (Cell phone charger). I feel a little less worried about my receiver overheating. It is noticeably cooler to the touch and I'm sure it's running better with less heat strain. I mounted it on the back right side of the receiver with case screws, just above the large internal heat sinks. I appreciate everyones help and suggestions with this so, any other questions just ask. Thanks guys!
  9. Okay sorry to get back to you guys somewhat late but, here is my experience with it on top of the entertainment center. It did run a bit cooler partly due to the fact that the ceiling fan is moving more air around it. The fact that it was noticeably cooler out in the open, would leave me to believe that it will be fine in the entertainment center but, with help from a fan. I REALLY like the look of the whole kit and having it mounted directly on top of the receiver. I wasn't looking to spend more than $20 though.

  10. I just looked up the specs on the fan you are thinking about ordering. 47.5 dBa. I think that it may be a little loud for your application. I'd be looking at fans rated 15 dBa or less.

Okay, ya I totally overlooked that. That is just a bit too loud for my tastes so, thanks for pointing that out. When I get time this afternoon I'll try it on top of my entertainment center and see if anything changes.
