You don't have to match the Atmos ceiling speakers but you want to stick with approx the same size as your LCR divers. The more important spec in looking for Atmos is you want to look for a coaxial speakers with conical 90 degree dispersion.
If your wanting to stay with Klipsch they recommend these for in ceiling.

I went with a cheaper version but basically the same specs wise and I'm super happy with the results, the up mixing is fantastic since the content is limited as of now.

RF-35's are rear ported BTW they need to be pulled out from the wall a bit or they get muddy IMO.
Unless your talking about the RB-35's?

One common misconception is that you get "more bass" with bigger drivers, but in my experience, most all Klipsch models are well balanced.
You sure about that? RF-3 hits as hard as RF-7's? RSW12 vs RSW15? I've owned all 4 of those speakers and can attest to hearing more bass with the larger woofers. That's mere physics. Larger woofers move more air.
My RF-83's had 8" woofers vs 10" woofers in the RF7 and RF7ii. They were equal in bass but they are close in surface area too (3) 8" woofers vs (2) 10" woofers.
In my experience, the RF-35s I had were much more bass-heavy speakers than my RF-7s.
Are you sure about that? My listening tests between the 2 are exactly opposite to your results. I can hardly see 2 8" woofers in a far smaller cab produce more bass than the larger 10". It's like comparing the RC-7 to the RF-7, no chance IMO.

its insane how little difference there is. I've always pushed the 6.5" model over the 8". And as far as sub and center those can be substituted. I used 260 mains with the 450 center and of course always big subs for me.
According to my ears, the 260 and 280 towers are VERY VERY close in sound and output. Which is why the efficiency is only 1db difference. The man differences I heard were in the center channels and the subs.
The strength of the bass is about the same, it's just that the 260s don't go quite as deep as the 280s.RP-260 vs RP-280 - Very, very, very subtle difference. I had the guy switch back and forth between the two about 5 times, and not until the 4th time could I start to hear a very little difference. The 5th time, still very little. In my opinion, and from what I heard, these are probably the closest 2 speakers of the mid and upper RP line.
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.
G-Rod: What is difference between RP-260F and RP-280F - i mean bass. The woofers have a 1.5 inches difference. The differences are bit, little, average or maybe large? The 260 and 280 are the same efficiency +-1dB.
The main difference, imo, is the size of the horn.

So, the difference in the depth of the bass is small? Truth? I like quiet but deep bass. My room is small, about 220sqft. Which set is better 260f or 280f? Maybe set 260f+110sw?
Your not going to be getting your deep bass from your Main speakers if your running with a sub you'll want to cross at 80-120hz depending on your room setup etc. So your Mains only really have to go down to 80hz.

I have narrowed it down to the Denon AVR-S710W and the Yamaha RX-V667. Both are pretty much the same price. Which would be a better purchase?
If you can swing it I would go with a X series Denon, those specs on the S series are so far out of wack I have no idea how there testing that output.
The X1200W will give you far better room calibration and I would bet my bottom dollar it will be more powerful than the S710W.

Sorry I've been drinking a lot but i thought someone had mentioned rc3 as a choice. Regardless i say get the best center you can afford and be done with it.
RC-35 is the best for the LR he has, what has been suggested.

Rc7 walks all over the rc3. Not even close. I haven't heard any center klipsch or otherwise in the same league
Who said anything about a RC-3? The OP is trying to match to his RB-25's, the RC-3 would def not work . RC-7 is a supposed to be a nice center but not a match in the least for a set of RB-25's, largest he can or should pair with that to get proper timber is the RC-35.

I would stay with the tower speakers if your able to, also good choice on the center. I was going to say the sub is a bit weak but if your worried about playing while babies are sleeping in the house it's a non issue.
If you can place your speakers in ceiling you can save yourself some $$ by going with a non Klipsch, I run 4 OSD ICE640 6.5 in ceiling and I'm super impressed by the depth even with the upmix. I paid $110 shipped for 4 on a deal they had going last month.

If I were doing this and just wanted to try a few things I would make the Mid and Tweeter on a removable mount so you can rotate them easy to see what sounds the way you want. Like this guy.

They probably had them configured poorly. I've heard people liken them to the RB-5's. Scrappy - if I remember right - preferred them almost as much as the P-17B's.
I really like the RB-5, but the 160's just walk all over them. They're pretty much on par with RB-75 in my opinion.

That crossover in a heresy is designed for it sitting the way it does. Not any other way.

regardless, the crossover is not designed with regard to wave dispersion patterns. its function is the splitting of electrical signals between drivers. right?
No there design with the baffle and layout of the drivers in mind as wel.

Yes. I picked up my Denon for 399 from crutchfield. I would like to buy from them again as returns are easy. They have been good to me over the years
They have a pretty good deal on a scratch and dent SC-85, it was the model I was going to get if I could have gotten a way better shipping rate(Canada) went with a Denon 4100W instead (saved me $300)

Scrappy in Post No. 5 above did say why; it's because of lobing.
Horizontal is a compromise and you immediately start running into lobing issues...(snip) Scrappydue
Klipsch deals with this lobing issue in the RC-64 (four midbass/woofers) by changing the crossover points slightly to the two outside midbass/woofers. There is also some math and wavelengths involved regarding the size of the woofer and the center-to-center distance between them. You can't just randomly stick the woofers in the cab and expect it to work properly.
In general I see MTM designs with the woofers as close to each other as possible, and they almost always use a truncated mounting frame. I've read a good discussion about this by Dr. D'appolito, I'll see if I can find that paper so you can get better answers than I can intelligently present.
Just get out the old hack saw.

Clinton - I haven't properly placed the RC-25 in the center yet since it just didn't sound good to me. I currently have it in place of my front right speaker (about 2' space to the back, 3' off the ground) to compare to the RB-25 on an equal ground basis.
Youthman - I'll probably have to live with this for a while until my wife forgets when I bought this and then go for an upgrade...
I see, it might sound better between the 2 setup properly. If you a AVR with audessy you should run that after you place all your speakers where you will be leaving them. Also be sure to run them as small reguardless of what it tries to set them at.
If you do end up wanting to upgrade to a RC-35 LMK as mine will be for sale in the next few weeks as I am going with RC-7's across the front. I'm in Canada BTW.

Where is the RC-25 located? Is it in a stand of some sort or pushed up tight to the wall, on the floor or close to?
I have a RC-35 and I was never 100% happy with it, always seemed muffled to me as well. About 3 weeks ago I started to redo my theater, so my fronts are now free air if you will no cabinet etc. I have the RC-35 placed on a stand 15" off the ground well away from the back wall and wide open it now sounds 300% better than it ever did. IMO these center channels need to be out in the open to sound correct. Just my opinion of course YMMV.

No idea what that is but I buy used quit a lot, I have never had anyone selling not want to give a number or a address to actaully pick the item up from. Last longer trip was a 4hr each way for a $4500 72 BSA guy gave me all his info the works, bank # so I could transfer deposit etc. All went smooth cause the guy actually wanted to sell.

Lol I wasn't going to jet down there with no assurance that he had them or even if he would be there. Without a phone number or address would you have just gone on a 10hr round trip?

This kind of fell apart quickly. Guy wouldn't give me his phone number or address or take deposit/full payment, said email me when you get into town and he will meet me somewhere with the speakers??
A 5hr trip to "maybe" get ahold of him and he "might" still have them isn't my idea of a good deal or time. Why place a ad to sell if your not going to actually sell the stuff, now I see why he still has them.

Ohm rating for rc64ii drivers

I highly doubt they would be 2 ohm, but could be wrong.
I know the RF-7, RF-7ii and RF-35, RC-35, RC-25 use 2 8 ohm drivers in parallel to get a 4ohm load at the terminals, these are the only ones I have been able to measure so not sure on others.
My guess would be four 4 ohm drivers ran in series-parallel.
