hey guys, I would like some opinous from the audience. I ran across a rw 12d for a can't refuse price if i want it. So i was thinking of picking it up to add to my system as a second sub to even out the room. Currently I have rf-82's, rc-64, rs-62"s, rb-61 (7.1) and a rsw10d for the sub work. Would adding the 12d in the same room as rsw10d be a good move for balance or would the 12 just muddy up the exceptional bass of the rsw10d? Any thoughts?

hey guys, I have a questions. I just finished building some acoustic panels for my theater room and need a little help with placement. I know where I'm suppose to place them but i kinda don't know at the same time. I have been searching forums and numerous website with not much results. So, where are the first reflection points for horn loaded speakers (klipsch) ?? I know with most speakers the mirror trick answers the question but with horn loaded i know its different. I've read a few post that reference the FR as being further back but i can't find any science to guide me on exact placement. For reference my room is 26 x 13 x 8 with vaulted ceilings starting at about 4 feet up the 26 foot walls leveling off at the top with about a 7 foot flat ceiling. I definitely have a flutter echo and I'd like to flatten out frequency response (though i don't currently have a way to measure that). thanks in advance!

when i bought my system i asked my dealer ( whom is the store manager, and a personal friend of mine so no BS) I asked about that and he said most the RC-64s he sells get teamed up with RF-82s. Its what i bought. Haven't hooked it up at home yet, promised the wife I'd wait till Christmas being it was our gift to each other. But i really put the 82 64 combo through the paces at the store ( and hour 1/2 of mind numbingly load music , movies, and weird sounds i brought from home. I ran nearly every customer out the store with the volume) but i was very happy with the choice.

cruchfield's got the Panamx 5300 EX for $249 now. Its what i just got. The necessity of the "conditioning" part is debatable but a high quality surge protector is a must.

I know its off topic but you listed RS-52's for the rears. Correct me if I'm wrong but usually directional speakers are recommend for rears. RB-61's perhaps. Just my 2 cents.

Question: I just got an RSW-10. the back of it has the red and white pre- amp connections. My receiver (Onkyo TX-SR876) has a single RCA subwoofer LFE out. Will it sound better to run the receivers LFE to the sub or run one of the pre amps to it? or does it matter?

yeah i agree with the front firing. I'm using RB-61's for mine.

I'm really proud of my Klipsch theater and was wanting to get a big Klipsch logo to hang on one of my blank walls but i can't find anything. Does anyone know how or where to get like a 3 x 5 foot klipsch sign?

your best option is to drive to a klipsch dealer ( even if its a few hours). This time of the year with the downturn in the economy retailers are really willing to make deals to move inventory. I just bought an RC-64 from Sounds Unlimited in Danville, VA for $750! ('m a preferred customer but it can be done.) Online dealers will not make these kind of deals but if thats your only option, Crutchfield. There stores suck. I mean really really suck! But the online is impeccable.

thanks guys, I'll post some pics when i get it finished. Think I'm gonna go ahead and just drill through the tops of the speaker into some angled 2x rips and on into the joist.

Hey ramiawad99, I've the exact same setup you do and have been wondering the same thing. What did you find out / decide? Also where did you put the RB's at in the rear? I don't like the the stand option and have been trying to figure out a ceiling mount option.

In "real life" (lol) I'm a general contractor so building or fabricating something is really no problem. I'm not opposed to it. I can make a bracket, open the speaker up and thread some rods trough it to attach it. I guess my main concern is, is the RB-61's construction strong enough that the back panel can support its weight (25 pounds) over time and under stress from vibrations?? I sir am clumsy. If I even have to walk by the speaker I'm old enough to know that i will inevitably trip over, tear the wire from the floor, break the stand, and spend all evening at the hospital have the speaker surgically removed.

Exactly. My theater room is 16 feet by about 30 feet. my last row of seating is about 12 feet from the screen. i was wanting to be able to mount the backs on the ceiling about five feet behind that. Around 17 ft from front wall. That leaves me 13 ft to the back wall which seems like too far back to place the backs. And i didn't really want the backs on stands in the floor behind the seats because the rest of the room is behind the seats and that takes up floor space and gives people something to knock over. So the ceiling seems like the logical place just angled slightly down. I just underestimated the size and weight of the RB-61's and inherent lack of mounting options.

Hey guys quick question. After years of waiting and wanting i finally got me dream system. RF-82's RC-64 RS-62's RSW 10 RB-61's So here's the question. I got the RB-61's to use as backs in the 7.1, to be mounted on the ceiling behind the last row of seats. Does anyone know how to mount that big a speaker to the ceiling? Seeing as how the RB-61's have no holes on the rear of the speaker to attach a bracket too? I'm stuck any help is greatly appreciated.
