    SVS help

SVS sent me this email, see if it helps you out. The LPF of LFE refers to the upper limit set on the LFE (Low Frequency Effects) channel (the ".1" in "5.1") by the receiver. This is different from the bass in the other 5 channels, which the 80Hz crossover is set for. The upper limit of the LFE channel on a disc can be up to 120Hz by Dolby spec, and none of it is sent to the other 5 channels, so if the upper limit is set to 80Hz in the AVR you might lose some bass between 80Hz and 120Hz. No biggie, but I'm not really sure why they even provide the control in AVRs since it should be left at 120Hz. As far as the sub's controls go, they should be set as follows: Phase: 0, gain 1/3-1/2, Crossover: OFF, Room Comp: LARGE, Subsonic Filter: 20Hz (no ports plugged), Parametric EQ: All 3 controls fully counter-clockwise as pictured. RCA and XLR Hi-Pass settings don't matter.
  8. its looking awesome youthman!!!!!!!!
  9. Here is a pic of the actual Oak at my friends house.
  10. Well I wanted to let you guys know that I finally have all my material and will be starting on it this week. The mantle if for the RC-64 cherry center channel and the mantle will be placed above my tv. The mantle will be made out of Oak. I will be using 7" Crown molding that was cut in Arizona at a custom shop. Attached is a sample piece of the crown but not in Oak. I have a better pic of you stuff but i am having trouble getting it off my camera phone now. When I can I will post that pics of my crown and base. I am going to do the crown with 2 pieces of stacked base on the bottom. this pic is with 1 piece of base on the bottom.
  11. Its not that is lacking in power. But i am looking for a way to power my amps on. The 706 has not external plug that I can trip my amps with and the 12v trigger only works for zone 2. I currently have to turn the amps on and off everytime I turn the system on. Its not a big deal but it is a pain in the @*** with the wife and kids using it also and leaving it on or forgetting to turn them on. I also wonder which one would have better sound qualities.
  12. Okay, I know I have aasked about this before. But which receiver the onkyo 906 or the denon 3808ci. Whick is better for HT and Music with my set up? What about the thx certification the onkyo has, does it matter? The denon is not thx certified. I need some opinions from you guys. They are both around the same price now. Thanks.
  13. I just want tothank everyone for there input on helping me make my decision on what sub to buy and what type of finish.
  14. That's great to hear. I bet you are Rock'in the neighbors house too. All I can say is I am glad I own a couple of acres of land and my neighbors do also. But I bet they think there has been several earthquakes here in Indiana.[]
  15. I agree youthman, the pictures do not do it justice. The sub is not as bright red as the picture makes it. It really does look good, but truthfully I only notice the color if I am standing above it The grill covers the front and the sides are blocked by the tv and RF 83. It does look rich and classy. If you are into the woods its nicer that black. But if you have black speakers I would get the textured back, it is an awesome finish as well it even has a little sparkle to it. I have no regrets for my set up. Oh and the sub is ROCK'IN the house.
  16. Sorry I do not know how to post multiple pics
  17. Here are a couple of quick pictures of the new subwoofer.
  18. I have emotiva amps and all I can say is they rock. I would say they are a neutral sound but they provide alot of authority to my speakers. Best bang for the buck in my system build.
  19. I will post some pics of it when I get a chance. I am trying to it now with some movies and music.
  20. For those of you that are interested, I got the Subwoofer today. I about died trying to move that beast around. I have it set up and I am starting to play with the settings. But so far this thing packs a punch. I will post more once I get it dialed in if you guys are interested.
