  1. Ok guys, this is driving me nuts and I want to bust the rf 63's out of the boxes. My problem is that I am still waiting to have a shelf made for the rc64 and the rf 83s have not goten here either. The rf 63s are going to go in the rear when the 83s get here. My question is can I use the rf 63 up front but still use the bose center, sides and rear. I was waiting until the rc64 could be mounted and the 83's were here but it's killing me. So can I mix these to brands or should I wait until the rc 64 can at least be added to the mix and replace all 3 up front at the same time? If I do the klipsch up front can I run the bose in the rear until the rf 83's get here? Well what do you think wait until I can change it all at the same time or just put the 63's in front with the rest bose. I was thinking mixing is a bad idea but I want to start setting them up. I really need my center channel shelf bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may not make it till Christmas! Or if I can, I can just put the rf 63s in the rear where they are going to go and get rid of the bose bookshelf speakers that are there now. but what about the ohm rating difference would that matter I think my onkyo is set at 6ohms. The bose I think are rated at 8ohms and I cant remember what the klipsch's are rated at. Would it work or not. What can or should I do or not do?
  2. Thats what I am doing RF83's with the rc 64 center up front and the rf 63's for the rears and rs 62's for the sides. I still need to buy the rs 62's after the Holiday unless I find another good buy.
  3. SHHHHHHHH! Dont tell but I did sneak a peak at one of them. It looks sweet!!! I dont know if I can hold out either but I am trying at least until my 83's get here. The wife saw the boxes on the 63's and said "Holly SH*T these things are huge". I warned her if she thinks those were huge wait until the other ones get here!!!!!!!! She does like the idea of the custom oak mantel shelf that I am having made, she wants it more for pictures and I want it more for the RC 64!
  4. What is the pros and cons of each?? Which one is better and why? Would you use each one for a different type of set up or effect?
  5. How does this sub compare to the sub 12? Can this sub and the sub 12 be matched up together, ot would it not be a good match for dual subs.
  6. Yea, I wont let him hear it. I got all this under the disguise as a christmas gift, so I am trying to hold off. I also dont want to hook it all up yet because I am having a 6ft oak mantle custom made for the center and I am also having some work done in the room where all this is temp. going to be while I have a HT room built. Will be to much drywall dust.
  7. Oh I think newegg has some good sales going on in receivers now
  8. Welcome, I say for HT go Onkyo 706 very user friendly 4 hdmi and 7.1 JMHO
  9. I have over the past week made 3 calls to Klipsch customer service and everytime I talked with someone who was overly helpfull in answering any of my questions and researching the questions that they were not sure of even the phone operator was very friendly and extra helpful in finding my answers.
  10. RS52's you need the RS62's with those fronts! Bartender a round of RS62's for the house please!!!!! LOL ; )
  11. I could not pass up the deals on the rf's I still need to get 2 of the rs62's for the side surround then all my bose stuff will either be used somewhere else or sold. I already have someone asking me if I want to get rid of the bose, that he is interested in getting them. I am sure this is over kill and then some but who cares. Someone has to try and start stimulating the economy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Might as well be me!! ; ) Youthman, I have you to blame after seeing those cherry 83's of yours I had to have some!
  12. Well the rf 63's have arrived!!!!!!! Still in the boxes and maybe til after Christmas, we will see if I can hold out that long.
  13. On the truck today and should be here in the next few hrs. I also picked up a pair of the rf 83's for a good price.
  14. True to a point Tommyboy but, they can be a authorized seller and still have poor customer service and be a horrible company to deal with. I have found mixed reviews on the web about them. But even the best companies have some bad reviews. I am looking for some first hand experience with them.
  15. They are listed on the klipsch site of dealers and they have 6 locations in the New York area. I am wondering if they are good to deal with or not. I hope someone has purchased from them and can let me know how they are. They have a satisfactory rating with the BBB.
  16. Has anyone bought anything from 6th ave electronic. I thing they are a certified dealer, but I was wondering if they are a good company to do business with?
  17. By the way welcome to the forum! I am new here also but the info is great and the people are helpful and nice. I am working on redoing my surround sound system from Bose to Klipsch RF series cherry finish. I am still waiting for my rf 63's to get to my door but the rc64 is a monster and I have the sub 12 and it rocks the house.
  18. I would think it would be a nice upgrade but I am far from the expert in here. I am sure someone will let you know for sure. I just ordered the rf 63's and rc 64 The price you got would that be for the cherry finish? Who is the klipsch dealer? Are they an authorized dealer? I have been told the 63s are better than the 82's. Do you know if they have any rf 83's in cherry at your dealer? Curious on the price!
  19. I am not looking to screw into the speakers at all. I am just thinking of mounting a shelf to the wall and just set the speaker on the shelf. Your mounting system is one way I was thinking of but I just want to make sure it will support all the weight 15" out from the wall with a wooden wedge. 63 lbs for speaker alone and then the weight of the shelf. It will be pretty heavy!
  20. You are probably right! It would be a waste of money if there is only a hand full of movies out in 7.1. I mostly use the set up for gaming (xbox 360) and movies with music coming in third. What are most xbox 360 or ps3 games recorded in? I think the rs 62's may be a better choice then I can get rid on my Bose 301 series 3 that I am using for my rear sound. I am not even sure if those bose are the right speakers for rears? Thanks for bringing me back to reality!
  21. I believe you guys!!!!!!!!!!, but I am just trying to figure out what speakers to replace the rest of the Bose with. I am wondering if I get rf 83 for up front and put the 63s in the rear I can then get some rs 62's for the rear sides. But I am wondering can you use speakers like the rf63's for rears or should you only use speaker like rs 62 if you are setting up 7.1 or should I just do 5.1 I have heard some negative about 7.1. Whats the facts on 7.1 and using rf 63's for anything other than the fronts? Are they the wrong type of speaker to use for anything other than the fronts?
  22. No, not really. I have to mount it above my 60" Sony so the speaker will be about 5ft up the wall. I lake the Idea of the Oak Mantle shelf but I just have to figure out hoe to secure it to the wall without exposed hardware. I can make sure to hit the studs, so the weight is supported by the studs. If the mantle is hollow in the back I think I can make some supports for it. I can then build a 15" deep shelf to put on that.
  23. Chains might work!!! I can be going for the mid evil look or gothic. I have a coouple of ideas but i will need to research it at the local home depot. I was hoping that someone in here may have already shelf mounted their center channel and they would have some good ideas.
  24. Well I got the RC 64 today and man is it heavy! I took a peak at it but have not had time to remove it from the box yet, as i said before its part of christmas gift. But I see my problem already, the thing weighs 63 lbs and is like 13.5" deep I have to wall mount this beast. I thought about a mantle shelf like for a fireplace. Using a 5' length shelf since the speaker is almost 3' but they are only about 8" deep, I can work around that and mount a wider board on top but I am trying to figure out how to mount it to the wall studs without seeing the screws, bolts or mounting hardware. Anyone have some ideas. It has to be strong enough to hold the speaker and shelf.
  25. Thats ok, but I did say direct from Klipsch rep. I just did not want reveal my source.
