  1. I lit up in the Warehouse once. Three bouncers were on us like white on rice- told to put it out - NOW

Surprised me based on what I had heard.

The best show I saw there was Traffic in 72 0r 73- blew me away- I do remember that one- Steve Windwood was unbelievable. I think I saw Foghat there-they were good also- My memory of the 70s has been clouded by too many bottles among other things.

  2. A buddy just sent me this link..... Omg... I cant stop laughing.. I just choked and sprayed beer all over the laptop... knocked over the rest of the bottle. This is the funniest thing I have ever seen on U tube. I cant believe that they have not nuked this clip/

WARNING- no nudity or bad language but HIGHLY Offensive content. I am not posting the link directly as I would be banned - jailed - or possibly deported. Not for the easily offended- be forewarned.

Go to U tube - Pull up the uncensored version of Chimpanzie and frog- don't say I did not warn you

    ROFLMFAO

  3. + one on Nora Jones and Al Diemola

XRCDs--Robert Lucas- Luke and the locomotives/Mighty Sam Mcclean-give it up for love

    Any CD on telark records

Original Master CD- The all time Greatest hits of roy Orbison

Red Book- mark knoffler-Golden Heart/johny Lang-Wander this world/Lucienda Williams- Car wheels on a gravel road/Grevious anget- Tribute to gram parsons

Vinyl- Tom Petty- Mudcrutch box set- Abbey road 1/2 speed master-Seeger 7-Bob Seeger

  4. Oh yes Canal St in the big easy- was stationed at Kesler AFB in Biloxi from 72-73. Drinkathons in NO every weekend. I knew all of the gin joints on Canal St at the time. Fist fights- getting sick-waking up in strange places not knowing how I got there. The best one was waking up in the bushes on the Tulane Univ campus Sunday morning with a topless dancer ...who was still topless. No idea how I got there. Missed my ride back to the base. Had to call a buddy who lived there and beg him to take me back or be AWOL. Wonder I lived to tell about it. I did not have a car at the time which was a good thing for all concerned parties- especially the other drivers.

Anybody remember the Warehouse in NO??? Man did I see some great shows there

I really watch it drinking and driving. I maybe have 2 beers max or 1 mixed drink with dinner. I stay near the house. Whenever possible I call a cab or have a DD.

Every once in a while I will overindulge- typicall mixing wine with beer or liquior. Like you say 3 days to get over it

  5. Dtel[Y][Y][Y][Y][Y][Y]- strictly the beer - not the politics

Schlitz draft in quart bottles- my first daily drinker back in the 70s- crusing around in my 70 Fiat spyder- hitting on the ladies from the local gathering place- always had a quart bottle in my lap or iunder the seat- Pre DWI days back when it was OK to drink and drive but you went Federal prison for a joint.

The draft was a great beer when I could not afford Heiniken. I bet the old good stuff would be up there today

Tried the new stuff about a year ago- not bad- but got tired of it quickly. If money gets short I will certainly consider it- yeingling is the bang for the buck beer around these parts.

  6. The corns are gone to sharkdriver- really nice guy- typical forum member. Jonesing to pick up the modded Belles. In a long narrow listening room like this one 7.1 kicks the crap out of 5.1. Going from 7 to 5 speakers aint cutting it.

I found some mint- I mean as new petty vinyl in my stuff about a month ago- hard promises and damn the torpedos- maybe another. Absolute perfection on the Yamaha PX-2 with the Grado. Gotta get my tech over here and set up the thorens ASAP.

Drinking a chechovar pilsner beer as we speak- my last one- may have to ride down to Dean and delucas for a high seas uber pils.

If anybody is into watches I have a beautiful Patek plillipe for sale. I am picking up a black stainless Daytona tomorrow. may sell - may keep.

It is hot as 40 hells here and going to get worse- 98 by Wed. Stay cool- drink lots of fluids- (cold beer)

Hey TH- Hope the wife is doing better

    Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. We used to get Pearl here as well. it sold well- had a following- then just went away- dist issues we were told by the manager of the Winn Dixie.

I remember the round no tab cans- there was a nifty little opener you could buy to pop them- you drank a few Coors- misplaced thje opening tool - then cut the c**p out of your thumb opening the cans. Wake the next afternoon wondering why your thumb was sliced up.

Does anyone remember a beer from the 60s called Hub???? required an oil can opener. A friends dad had a big stash of it and we used to swipe it as teen agers- mighty fine as I remember

Total wine in Char NC has pilsner Urquel for 11.99 a 12 as the daily price. they run Newcastle for 10.99 on occasion.

i am telling you guys-get on the internet and find out if the highseas uber pilsner is sold in your area. It is a 10 IMHO.

  8. The 2" trachorn fad does not have to cost an arm and a leg. With a little patience and looking around the modded heritage can be done on a real low budget. I have a grand total of 2500.00 in my k horns and they really kick- Very similar to cigarbums.

Clone horns and crossovers made from parts express in many cases sound identical to the genuine article for less money.

No doubt that the pro series is better- provided you have the room for them. When I get a bigger house I will own some- for sure.

Make no mistake the trachorns are an OMG mod to the Heritage series at a modest cost if you shop smart.Murders anything short of the pro series.

  9. Mark- I totally agree with the pro series solution- 14 x 25 room- cant do it- wish I could. I could maybe at some point gowith something the size of Cigarbums DBBS but no larger- they would be almost touching.

Dont have the Belles yet- maybe 2 weeks. They have ALK jrs with JBL 4470 drivers- 1 " wood trachorns- bremas- they sound awesome

Going with trachorns and ALK universal X ovwers- big JBL drivers- maybe Bremas on the other 3 Lascalas

  10. This miserable hot weather gives me yet another excuse for beer research

    Here are my latest finds

Heavy seas uber pilsner- the draft is unbelievable- five stars for this one- but$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    Checovar pilsner-

    Eisenbecker pilsner

Any other great pilsner reccomendations are appreciated

    My standard is Pilsner UIrquel

  11. Volumes have been adjusted. The wood horns sound different. The standard horns had the same sound as the others. They matched and the mods upset the apple cart. The trachorns just move so much air and clear sound. 2nd RSW 15 and wood horns- big drivers- ALK X overs all arounfd and I am done....I think[:@]

I really thought that the other speakers would blend in- except for the sub- which loves the match- not so. I learned a lesson from this change. Never would have thought the change would have created issues with the HT setup.

I also use the modded horns for 2 ch- Nirvana- no issues.

  12. Really interested- not joking- what do you eat with the stuff if anything? Is it suitable for a mixed drink with burbon. Might be something worth keeping around for a change. The flat was just about empty so people must like the stuff. For sale in a wine store- 6 or 8 dollars a 6 pack or maybe a 4 pack- I was in ahurry and did not have time to look closely.

  13. Trust me - there was NO moderation at the last SOuthern Klipsch gatrhering. A 500 dollar bottle of scotch went down like a sinking ship. Several other fiths were yesterdays garbage. There were rivers of beer. Moderation is for girlie men. If I end up on the hellbound train..at least i will be riding in the club car.

Another sip of black jack please...make it a double.[D] [Y] Work hard - play hard

  14. I did the 2" trachorn- 30 pound 2240 driver- ALK universal- new Crites 125 mod on my k horns. mak no mistake - without a doubt these are giant killing world beaters for low$$$$. klipsch should have done this on their own years ago. The factroy drivers and horns pale by comparison. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that this would make this much difference. Everybody who listens to this HT rig is totally blown away. The mega modded k horns paired with the RSW 15 sub are tuly awesome. But now there is a problem- In all honestly- the K horns/rsw 15 drown out the side surrounds and rears and to some degree the Lascala center.. Dont get me wrong -the setup is still unbelievable. But it is clear that the other speakers need similar treatment.

    See how this addiction works?????????????????

I have made a deal on a monster set of mega modded belles with wood track horns- huge JBL drivers - Brema tweeters and ALK crossovers. They sound great with loads of highs which will be used for side surrounds driven with a B&K 4420 out board- plent of clean power-200WPC.This should fix the sides.

Now for the rest- I have a center stock Lascalla driven by a 250-300 wpc carver 3 channel outboard which does well. I also have 2 stock rear industrial lascallas driven by a 2nd B&K 4420 200 WPC out board.

What does you reccomenf to mod the lascallas up to par for this application ???? which trac horns and which x overs? I am looking for 3 large JBL drivers as we speak. As always thanks in advance- Chris

  15. Gotta weigh in on this one

JB - Small world- I have been Jonesing for the Mitchners American Whiskey for 8 weeks . The dam liquior storee is out and this has been bacfkordered for several months. Waiting not so patiently for the arrival

Knob creek rocks- My choice when available at a good price

    Blanton- try this one

Jim beam- off my radar for the present- as Hank jr sang many albums ago

"I have loved some ladies- and I have loved Jim Beam- but they both tried to kill me in 1973"- been there and done that- trust me on this one

Oceans of sour mash on my log book. I will drink as long as I can-

    Cheers friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Checking in after a busy couple of weeks, Audio wise- seting up my Thorens 125/ Denon 103 R without ZU mods- no parts available- pissed off cowboy about that. selling Cornies - buying Maxed out Belles- upgrading Lascallas with ALK crossovers/ wood horns/JBL drivers. The K horns now drown the others out. Upgrade domino effect.looking for a second RSW 15 sub. looking for tubes to upgrade VRDs(small tubes) Peach 2- Jolida. Hoping to find teles and or mullards.

Looking at buying and flipping a Patex Phillipe watch- ref 5120 J -in case anybody is into those. trying to buy a 20 ga Perazzi MX 20 game gun to match my 12 ga.

Wheeling and dealing to raise caash for audio upgrades and the Perazzi.

Hope everybody is healthy or on the mend here. Drinking lots of wine from my long term storage cellar. 97 calf cabs and Aussies for4m 2001 and 2002- awesome. ots of beer in this sweltering heat.

Ben- saw Beinhiem ginger in the beer store yesterday- holy crap- stuff is expensive- do you drink the stuff warm or ice cold? may have to give it a go.

Cheers everybody- keep my seat in the bar.
