  1. guess everyone is in the dark on this one too! LoL ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  2. HOw is it that there are more posts about this than views? ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  3. with that, you would be buying a 1.1 system... that would work but be ummm, stupid. See, you would have a 160 watt sub with four channels and a 200 watt sub with only 1 channel. How could your balance that? It would be cool, but looks like it isnot ever going to happen. Besides, the changes in teh 5.1 system are beyond more power and center channel. The wriing is changed (not jmust on the inside), better crossover (more midrange) and the speakers are different in tehir own way. I must admit that i wish i could do that iwth my v2.400's but i don't have to worry about it. I will be getting the new ones as soon as they are out. Good luck... try selling those on eBay and get the new ones, i know you will ose money, but hell, you will enjoy it. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  4. My brother is going off to Texas A&M and has joined the corp there. For those who are unaware of waht that is, it is like a frat but based around different military outfits. They are strict, certain organizers, study times, etc. One thing is that his desk as a freshman is only like 2 feet but 1 foot. This is pretty small. The monitor now, a 17 inch Shallow CRT over powers teh desk, no room for a mouse or keyboard. Neearly all of the others in the corp buy LCD's to compensate. If you can find some for $300 or lower, lower is better. a 15" will suffice. thanks so much. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  5. A certain Amy has told me some great news. They will be putting out a new Digital Decoder for all promedias that will put out 2.1, 4.1, 5.1 sound, maybe even 6.1 etc, she did not say... But it will cost $90 and plug into your digital out soundcard, so you will not have to buy a new sound card or lose the benifit of a center channel/sub plug. This might even be used as a very sophistacated Y connecter... I really do not know what all the specs are but it should be great. Hey, and if anyone read my prediction about the new Klipsch's, I am right in every part of my prediction, if I remember right... I must be psycic. here is what i predicted... http://216.37.9.58/ubb/Forum10/HTML/003750.html not perfect, but hey, i have not really tried out my powers to their full potential yet... LoL ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  6. I saw these yesterday when the rest of my BCIS-1305 (Business Computer Information Systems and Applications) class was finishing their exam. I was downloading the newest Audio Galaxy to FTP to my computer at home and saw this advertisement. When I read it i actually laughed out loud in class. Now they think i am a freak. No one in thier but my teacher understands sound. He had a good laugh too. Well, got class in two hours and takes 35 minutes to drive their, see ya later. Ha, almost as funny as the cat. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/

  8. Amy told me that there will be a digital decoder out for Klipsch ProMedia speakers, it will be compatible with all models and will save many ppl a lot of money. I have a $149 Digital 5.1 sound card, and only has 4.1 output analog. i will pay the $90 for a digital decoder. what about yall? i think it is great. klipsch really listens to us! ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/

  15. I know, is this not just great news!!!! i wonder how soon tweeter will have them in stock and when the tech specs will be online. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  16. No, i believe that many people will continue to buy the 4.1 system becuase of the cost. The 2.1 will be the low end, 4.1 the middle of the pack, and the 5.1 will be the top of the line with a cost around $400. This is just an estimate, but if it has aa decoder it could be more. We will just have to see. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  17. The recent changes in Klipsch make a lot of sense. With the acquisition of Mondial, a leader in electronics, it was only right for Klipsch to update their website. It was also time for Klipsch to enter the new age of computer multimedia. By acquiring Mondial, they gained access to a lot of new technology. This technology in amplifiers and preamps could go to a 5 speaker one subwoofer multimedia system powerful enough, not only in watts but also in cutting edge decoding, to perform like a true 5.1 home theater system. With computers becoming more and more powerful and video and music off the computer transferring more and more due to broadband services like DSL and Cable and with the new FirberOptic lines at speeds of 20times faster than DSL and the like, more and more families are buying computer to handle their entertainment. So Klipsch makes a multimedia system like no other, say around 600 RMS 5.1 decoding for sound cards like Sound Blaster 5.1+ with digital sound out. This will create a Klipsch ProMedia that we will all admire, enjoy, and brag to the neighbors about. When people complain that they just bought the 4.1 systems, I have absolutely no sympathy for them. If we slowed down education so that we did not learn anything new till we had fully enjoyed what we had just discovered, we would be so far behind that we would not have this conversation here for another 1000+ years. With the invent of the wheel, do you think Ongore said, "Let we no put stick between to make cart"? No, our dirty little friend went out and rolled down a hill with a side of a galaposauraus in his wagon. If you think you might complain about losing out because your Pentium 4 1.7 GHz computer will be replaced with a Pentium 5 2.5 GHz by the time you get in the car, then don't by it. Just envy the people next door hauling in their new 46" Sony HDTV while you watch your Zenith 13" ColorTron. You can then laugh and say,"Ha! They don't know what I know. Tomorrow there will be the new 52" S-HDTV out for the same price and they will be S.O.L.". I told myself at age 15 when I bought my first computer with my own money, a 500 MHz PIII eMachine, that if tomorrow I walk in to Circuit City and they have a 600 MHz that I would not scream and complain to the more fortunate that they did not warn me. Instead, I told myself that I would spend the extra money, $350, and get a warranty. When my computer started to act up, I just got a new one and paid the difference. Now I have a P4 1.5 GHz Hewlett-Packard computer with a 60 GB hard drive. I did the same with my Klipsch ProMedia v2.400 speakers. I bought them from Tweeter Home Entertainment where they have a plan called the 365-1-1. So, I can get the new 5.1 system as long as it arrives in stores by February of next year and only pay the difference. You just have to do your research before you pay. I am excited to say that in a few months I will have a 5.1 ProMedia system in my room, a 1.5 GHz entertainment system to power it, and time to use it because I am a conservative 16 year old with more maturity than many 35 year olds. Who else is getting the new 5.1's when they come out June 1st? ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  18. i have the same problem, i have to have the white dot at the green led. that is the only way for me to get equal sound. try that, i don't think there is a remedy, i also realized that this seems to be in a lot of my HT speaker systems like it has to share the power from the sub to all teh other speakers, so the front right is obviouslythe first to get power and then the front left and the back right and then the back left, that is how i works on my set, if i start up my computer with the speakers at 12 o'clock, i can actually hear the power going to each speaker when they pop. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  19. how i had mine setup, is this. The sub facing a corner at a 35 degree angle. i also put it on 2x4's facing down, they both sounded great. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  20. so..... i take it that no one knows if the website will be open soon. well, if you do have any information, please post it here. thanks ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  21. I know that there is a free or demo program out there that will let me take a 1gb file and turn it into two .5 gb files... any one know what it is? also, i have a 2 gb movie that i want to get on a cd, i realize that it is too large but the program i am using, the windows program, will only allow it to be at 768kbps, right now it is at 30000+kbps, it is perfect quality, if i could get it to 15000kbps it would fit on one cd... anyone know of a program that will let me do that? thanks ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  22. to make the cord longer, i suggest going to radio shack and getting the stuff to make your own cords, two solderless mini connectors, and how ever many feet of 16 gauge wire. That is what most people do and it might even improve your sound. to get speaker stands, teh RB-1 is $89 but radio shack has on similar to it for $56 and if you do a search on Yahoo! for RB-1 you will find a site selling them for $66. gtg ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  23. Does anyone know when the new Klipsch website will be out? I took a look at the preview site and it seems to be a lot better. I am anxious to see the final cut. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  24. ok... well i was just wondering now if there is some special mini plug that can connect to 12 gauge wire. i can solder so that is no problem. or will i just have to think it out? i really don't want to do that so that i get the full use of the wite. thanks ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
  25. i was given 1000ft of 12guage wire inexchange for setting up an HT system that used 12 guage wire... can i use this with my pros? what would i do to make it work? ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/
