  1. I love my Crite's modded KLF-10's, enough so that I've gotten the bug to move higher up the Klipsch foodchain, likely in the Heritage series direction. I have been looking for reasonably priced set of La Scala's or Cornwalls locally, but nothing has come up. Recently a nice pair of Heresy I's came up on craiglist for a steal. I am first in line to buy them, I figure if I dont like them I can make money on them, and they could be an interesting into to the heritage series, but at the same time, if my KLF's will whoop on them, I think I'll pass. I listen to vinyl through a 6c33c SET amp (18wpc). I use a Polk PSW-200 currently crossed in at 50hz. What do you guys think, can Heresy I's (I'll have BEC work his magic eventually) and a sub compete with or outdo KLF-10's? Thanks for your opinions in advance
  2. Revelations - 0 NFB SET amplifiers - Moving Coil and Moving Iron cartridges - Good speaker cable sounds better than 10ga DIY - Good RCA's are in improvement over radio shack specials - Room Treatments - Great phono-stages make all the difference in the world - Record cleaning machine - Bob Crites upgrades - Good flat to 20hz subwoofer Misconceptions - All amplifiers sound the same - Cables are snake oil - Horns are harsh - Vinyl is no match for CD - Tubes are a waste of time and money, create nothing but 'euphonic' distortion - What sounds good to one guy will sound good to another - If you cant measure it, you cant hear it - More WPC = better - Less THD = better
  3. Well we finally cured that lack of a KLF-10 crossover build didn't we Bob I just got my Crites crossovers and tweets for my KLF-10's delivered this morning, after about 2 hours of install time, they are in, and I'm listening to them right now. The upgrades definatly brought out the highs, made the bass a bit more defined and tight, and they image and throw a soundstage a whole lot better than they did before. I'd buy them again, and deal with Bob again in a heartbeat
