  1. No - never heard the RF-7II speakers. I bought a pair, on this forum, based on what I have read about them. I'm very confident they will work well in my HT system and am also anxious to hear them in a 2 channel system - most likely with a McIntosh MC-2105 amp and C-28 preamp.
  2. Thank you for posting topic with photos. I'm traveling and have only my IPad. I'm not experienced enough to post links, etc... With it. You can see the Chorus speakers are very nice looking in photos. In the short time I've had them, they sounded great with the Parasound front end and the McIntosh front end. I really have mixed emotions about selling them - but am anxious to try the RF-7 II speakers I'll pick up next week.
  3. Selling a very nice pair of Chorus I speakers with Walnut cabinets. I've owned these speakers for about 2 months and expected to own for the long term. However, I've purchased a pair of RF-7 II speakers on this forum, and need to sell a pair of speakers to make room. I'm not able to post photos at this time - but please search my posts and you'll see photos of speakers. They have consecutive serial numbers and are in excellent condition. Speakers have Crites Ti diaphragms installed - with original diaphragms in carton. I would like to sell for what I have in them - which is $600. I'm located in Chapel Hill, NC and sale is for local pick up only.
  4. Yes - I put them on when I knew I had bought the RF 7 speakers.
  5. Good to know as I'm really looking forward to hearing the RF-7 speakers and I've enjoyed my Chorus speakers for short time I've owned them
  6. I know I like the Chorus and RF-63 speakers I currently have. I expect I will like the RF- 7 speakers as well. I'd like to keep all 3 of them, but just wouldn't be able to use all of them enough to justify keeping them. The slim profile of the Reference speakers give them an advantage over the Chorus speakers for my room. This leads me to believe I may need to sell the Chorus.
  7. That is what I hope to experience also. I've enjoyed the RF-63s. And also have a pair of Chorus I speakers. I may end up keeping both sets of Reference speakers and let go of the Chorus
  8. Very excited to have opportunity to try a pair of RF-7 II in such fine condition with the Cherry finish. These will be replacing my RF-63 speakers - which I've enjoyed for the past 3 to 4 years. It will be fun to compare them in 2 channel and HT systems
  9. I first replied to ad on June 10th. The ad was last updated June 14th by Seller. They may have sold, but seems odd I never received response between June 10th and June 14th????
  10. I attempted to contact Seller multiple times - Seller kept updating the listing - I never received a response to any of my inquiries.
  11. Well, I'm not ready to say that. The Parasound system is one of best I have ever owned and sounds wonderful. I bought the MacIntosh pieces primarily due to never having owned any McIntosh equipment previously (but wanting to try them) and this McIntosh system being local to me, listed by original owner in excellent condition with cabinets, owner's manuals and service manuals. My intention is to have amp/preamp gone over to replace caps, etc...to make certain they are up to spec. I'd like to find someone local to do this, but suspect I'll end up sending to Terry Dewick to go over them. I know he is extremely highly regarded.
  12. Quick photo of the Mcintosh amp/preamp, which I brought home today, with the Chorus speakers. Been listening to them for about 2 hours and am enjoying them so far. I really like the blue meters and cabinets as they look just right (at least to me ) with the Chorus speakers. I'll get the MR-74 into system tomorrow and see how FM sounds.
  13. I believe I will be changing up the front end of this system this weekend. I've always wanted to try some McIntosh equipment and should be picking up a MC-2105 amp, C-28 preamp, and MR-74 tuner this afternoon. I'm anxious to hear how the McIntosh sound with the Chorus speakers.
  14. I received my phono preamp yesterday - matching Parasound to my amps/preamp. I hooked it up to a JVC QL-66F table last night and listened to a few albums (turntable and phono preamp position is temporary for ensuring everything worked properly). Playing vinyl through the Chorus speakers didn't disappoint as I felt they sounded great. I continue to be impressed with the Chorus speakers.
  15. Great find. They are beautiful. With those Parasounds, you will never want for more volume. Bill Thank you - I feel fortunate to have found a pair "somewhat" local in such nice condition. I had purchased a mint pair of Forte II speakers last year - sold them to the son in law of respected Forum member shortly after I purchased them. These are very, very close to same mint condition. I organized my system this morning - have the Chorus about 8" to 11" off rear wall. Will listen for awhile and see what I hear. Hoping they sound nice close to rear wall, as this was primary reason to change out speakers in this system. I have a pair of Magnepans on the perpendicular wall - sitting out 60" from rear wall. I needed to free up some floor space. Hi cjmustang69, Since you had Forte II before & now you have this Chorus I, which one do you think is better in sound/sonic wise especially for accoustic music/jazz? I'm in the middle of deciding which one to buy... Thanks & cheers, Jimmy Jimmy, Difficult for me to make a true comparison of the Forte II to Chorus I speakers as my upstream equipment is totally different for the Chorus speakers versus the Forte speakers I owned. The Parasound amps/preamp I'm using with Chorus speakers is at least 2 steps above any front end I ran with the Forte speakers. I will say the Chorus seem to be able to let the quality of the upstream equipment show itself - to me showing the capability of the speakers. I honestly don't believe you can go wrong with either model. I would say a key consideration for choosing would be the room you plan to use them in and placement options/restrictions you have. While level of bass is often debated for Chorus I - I find bass to be quite good as long as you can place close to rear wall. Obviously, the Forte II needs to be off rear wall to sound correct. Good luck with your decision.
  16. I'm certain these amps are "overkill" for the Chorus speakers. They are 400 watts/channel at 8 ohms. But, as mentioned previously, Class A to 10 watts/channel (with a switch - can be Class A to 25 watts/channel). I have a pair of Monarchy SE-100 Mk II Deluxe amps, which I originally planned to pair with Chorus speakers. Just not in a hurry given how system sounds as is.
  17. I listened to this system for much longer than I should have today (didn't get anything done other than wash a car). I'm very impressed with the Chorus speakers. After more than 3 hours of continuous listening - no fatigue at all. The Parasound amps are Class A up to 10 watts and my listening levels wouldn't begin to exceed the 10 watts. Just an effortless, smooth combination. I don't see changing the x-overs anytime soon - maybe sometime down the road.
  18. I received and installed my Crites Ti diaphragms this week. I also played with placement of speakers yesterday, currently 6.5' apart (speaker center to speaker center) and approximately 4" off the ATS Panels behind them. My listening position is about 15' from speakers. Overall, really happy with their sound. I was a bit worried about bass performance, given what I had read about Chorus I speakers. As I've moved them closer to rear wall, I'm very pleased with quality/amount of bass. My main sources currently are digital (Logitech Duet/Apple Macbook played through Weiss DAC2). My intention is to purchase a decent turntable as I've been bitten by the vinyl bug. Given performance of speakers, having a difficult time determining if I should upgrade crossovers in future.
  19. Exactly the reason I wanted the Chorus I - believing I could place closer to rear wall. Nice price for your pair - I'd love to find a pair for that price. Did you keep x-overs stock or have you upgraded them? I'm attempting to determine if I will upgrade these or not.
  20. Great find. They are beautiful. With those Parasounds, you will never want for more volume. Bill Thank you - I feel fortunate to have found a pair "somewhat" local in such nice condition. 21. Thanks to an Alert in Garage Forum earlier this week, I purchased a nice pair of Chorus I speakers from Ebay. I just brought them home today after a 5.5 hour round trip drive. It was well worth the drive for me, as they are as nice as described in Ebay listing. I currently have them hooked up to a Parasound based system. Not certain what I will end up driving them with. I snapped a few photos of speakers tonight. I'll take a few more tomorrow after I've cleaned them up a bit. I've had several Heritage speakers in past, but believe these may be the "optimum" model for me - given my room requirements.
  22. I found a photo of my old Cornwalls to show cabinet grain, etc....Makes me that much more excited about getting the Chorus pair!!!
