  1. Thanks Tinnitus! Here is a shot of another repair job we did on the side. I cut a piece of veneer and lightly sanded it in to blend. I've had these speakers for so long now, I forgot it was there. I'm having second thoughts about selling them, but they are primarily used for home theater, and they never truly fit in my set up.
  2. Up for sale are these very loved 1978 Heresy speakers with sequential serial numbers (57S637 and 57S638) in an oiled walnut finish. They look and sound great. Please look at the photographs as these speakers are 45 years old but are in very good used condition. I am the 2nd owner, the original owner’s son gave them to me but did damage the top of one speaker, I have repaired that damage. Speakers upgraded with 5-way binding posts and new caps purchased from Bob Crites. Bob worked at the Klipsch factory and told me that these speakers were the 637th and 638th off the line in 1978. Local Pick-Up only in Los Angeles (Northridge) https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/261489763062351/ I am also selling a Klipsch Academy speaker I used as a center channel with these Heresy’s. The Academy has an upgraded “K-Stacked” crossover. They sound awesome together. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/206498081753463/ I also have two custom 24” Lovan Speaker Stands that fit the Heresy’s. They are filled with buckshot and have spikes to couple them on the floor and add height and bass. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/574049544858980/
  3. I looked into Salamander but the cost was a bit much for me. My unit ended up at $800. It's all hard wood (poplar). The bottom door is perforated steel like on the Salamander Design units. The back of the bottom is open for easy wire connection and breathing. The Emotiva does run cool but the Yamaha's a different story.
  4. I had one made. I searched for some time. The other difficult problem was the depth of the Emotiva Amp. Pretty happy with it. If you live in SoCal the cabinet maker who helped me out was a pleasure to work with and very talented.
  5. Bill as the owner of the set up you referenced on page one I must say that the drawing you did above with the La Scala's and the Heritage center looks awesome. I hope to one day get a pair of La Scala's.
  6. I have a Yamaha Receiver and utilize the Presence setting. I use RB-10's as the sound from the Presence Mode is very faint. Personally I love this setting. It opens up the front sound stage very much. It also has an additional feature that allows the dialogue from the center to faintly come from the presence speakers. This helps hide or make the center more difficult to localize. My feeling is don't knock it till you've tried it.
  7. Thanks. The speaker wire is Canare Star Quad wrapped with TechFlex. The bass is good even though the room opens up to a dining room and kitchen. I played around with the placement and the corner worked out. For me I wanted a compromise between aesthetics and acoustics.
  8. The Sweet Spot. Hope you enjoy. I certainly do.
  9. Rear Shot. The Surrounds are not Klipsch. I haven't figured out yet if the RS-42's will fit correctly as they will hang much lower. The front Presence speakers are from the reference line so I want the rest of the ambiance speakers to have similar drivers. I had a 7.1 set up in the past. To my taste the sound from center rears leaves me wanting more. I am very happy with 5.1 surround with sound sprayers.
  10. From the left. I have lights attached under the top shelf.
  11. NOTE: NO CABLES SHOWING! I put Heresy style grill cloth and badge on the K-Stacked Academy to keep things consistent. I also refinished a black oak Academy to match the finish of the Walnut Heresys. Here is the thread if interested. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/118154/1191722.aspx#1191722
  12. I am a stickler for clean lines and NO CABLES SHOWING! I do my best to keep things looking clean. In an open air entertainment stand (that I designed and built) it's hard to hide all the wires. I think I did alright. The speaker cables I built and the interconnects are custom lengths from Blue Jeans.
