  1. There's a THX demo disc, it has all their intros, commercials, and some movie clips. There's also a few DTS and Dolby demo disc out there.Check on Ebay, they come up for sale once in a while.
  2. W0ot finally got rid of the ugly sub in exchange for a PSB Image Subsonic 6. Sounds and looks a lot nicer
  3. Been doing a little updating New TV 50PK550, LG plasma Did some organizing of the source componenets System: LGPK550 Plasma Klipsch RF3-II's Klipsch RC-25 ProMedia satellites for the rears Sub is a Phase Linear 10" in a Kenwood powered enclosure HTPC ---I7/ATI HD4350/6GB DDR3/4TB storage/LG BD/HDDVD Drive Xbox 360 PS3 Wii Yamaha RX-V465 Still haven't updated the sub though
  4. Thanks it's a lot more enjoyable cleaned up, and I really like how the stand "encapsulates" the area, but I have a 6 year old, and two cats, so some chaos is an integral part of everyday life. I had to take the grills off because our kitten thinks they are fun to climb The sub...I know haha. It's inverted because it's not the original driver, the guy I got it from did that because it didn't quite fit in the enclosure. It really doesn't sound bad, but yea, once I can get the funds to replace it, it will be gone. The TV is a DLP so it can't be wall mounted, well, I could build a shelf for it, and thought about it, but this was a better solution. The center is pointing right at my chest with nothing in the way when sitting on the couch, and the very front of it is just past the stand, so there's no weird reflections. Had I placed it above the TV it would have been very out of line with the L,R's and might have made for some weird pans.
  5. Got a new stand a few days ago. I wish I could get the left speaker out of the corner. Any opinions on if it would be better, or worse to switch it and the sub, and move the right speaker close to the TV, and just reduce the toe-in?
  6. Oh yea, once I get the stand built all the wires are disappearing As far as the sub, it's a Phase Linear 10". I got it when I was in the Army stationed in Germany, a friend had the enclosure, which is a Kenwood powered cheapo, and he didn't have the tools to open the hole so the sub could fit, so he just inverted it. It "works", but it is far from what I would like.
  7. I am using some ProMedia satelittes to bring up the rear, really need soemthing a little more full, but they work for now. Here is where the components live... I am in the process of building a stand for the TV and center, HOPEFULLY, well get it started this weekend.
  8. I have the Ultra I am not using a PC in the system, I've got my DVD player, Western Digital HD Media player, Xbox 360, and it's HD DVD player connected via optical to the receiver, and HMDI to the TV, then the all the satellites connected to the receiver using 16g speaker wire. Right now I have a Kenwood powered sub amp, and enclosure pushing a Phase Linear 10" sub, which is pretty loud, I just don't want to spend the money fixing the Klipsch sub if it isn't going to be as good.
  9. Hello Elliott, I had talked to you via email a couple weeks ago about getting my BASH amp fixed . Unfortunately my receiver doesn't have a sub out, it only uses powered subs. How is the quality of the sound with this in a home theater setting? The sub I have now is pretty...rumbly I just don't want to get this fixed, and thenhave it not be up to snuff. Obviously it isn't going to rattlemy teeth out of my skull, but it is nice a deep?
  10. Wow, can't believe no one has even looked at this, must be a dead forum eh? Well if anyone cares, the satellites work great with my Onkyo, and I am still interested in trying to get this subwoofer integrated ino the system if anyone has any ideas.
  11. Hello, My Father gave me a set of the Promedia 5.1 that have developed the "hum". I took the satellite's and replaced my hodgepodge speakers (Bose 301's for the mains, a Kenwood center and subwoofer, and some JBL's in the rear), I haven't gotten a chance to really push it, but I am goin to tonight to decided if I am going to keep it, or go back to my old set up, and get the amp fixed for PC use. Right now I have only the satellites, but was wondering if their is a way to use the sub? I doubt my Onkyo TX-SR600 can push it unpowered, but if it's possible, that would be cool. Thank you, John
