  3. dude , DACs are rarely found her... only diy dacs , and that i donot wana enter into. the DAC of my dvs9 is good but i guess out board dacs or lampization would be better sounding. plus ofcourse tubes would bring out their own character to my music , which would be welcome .... anyone else also could pour in ,plz
  4. buddha bar ...ali baba.. pink floyd .....on the turning away (when its time for some guitaring ecstasy) tori amos .....carnival (second half rocks) sean kingston .......fire burning great bass beats n rhythm. and many more coming to my mind

  8. DTEL HEY MAN .....now that we are friends forever ,why dont you exchange with me one pair out of those 3 fortes that youve been hanging up your rear wall against my RF3s ...[] im sure ill place em on ground here with utter delight and pride []
  9. i saw and heard RF52s at a shop . but they arent as big sounding as the RF3s and 82s
  10. i paid $450 for my RF3s . they are my best speakers to date . they image very well and have great power handling and dynamics . you will run out of amp power or blow some eardrums out but they wont surrender !
  11. the question says it all.... i have a cdp X-33-ES SONY from the early 90s.. Its REALLY GREAT a player .plays all cds .but i guess a little short of the best in its class and price . so i thought of the offer of lampization to it by my technician.. according to him the sound gets tube like mellow ,rich and soft .
  12. dtel. i did find the speakers to sound a lot better even three years ago when i had my kenwood LS707M tower speakers up on spikes. bass got fairly neat and trimmed . felt like it had left the midrange go her own way . bass got better definition . prior to that it used to be muddy . i had these klipsches of mine on plain screw bolts . they also served like spikes , so i dont feel any difference here . but yes i needed the spikes to look good , hence these ....
  13. thats would be the chapter 2 of life . [:^)] if there are only three ! who knows what comes up next in life. hoping the best it is ....!
  14. lolzzzzz. no dtel... no critters , no rodents nothing like that here .not even ants . i bought RF3s from a guy who kept it with a good number of wooden cabinets, speakers and electronics . he took care of the woofers and internal firmware by covering the rear and front ports of his speakers with these metal nets . he had rats perhaps which must have damaged something atleast at his place . wires or somrthing thats why he took such measures . i kept the same going ....didnt remove the mesh ,as it doesnt hurt .. and yeah baby is doin great . thanks DTEL . we have named her UMAIZA SHEHRYAR . []
  15. critters .... there you go ....take em home ...theyr ALLL yours [][]
  16. SWL "Is your 2230 an original unit or has it been restored in any way? Most Marantz units do not put out audiophile or purist sound quality. They have a warm colored sound that is not extremely precise. If you listen to string music with your speakers three feet away from your sweet spot then a Marantz receiver is gonna fall short if that's your thing. If you're a headbanger or like your classic rock then you''ll have more of an appreciation for the mid-fi Marantz units." well heck yeah the 2230 was once checked by my technician (a fairly experienced dude, who works with mono block tubes and high end stuff mostly ). he said this unit has been converted to 220 volts transformer . but since there is no hum, nor any dc out at the speaker ends upon start , the amp is good to go ..... he didnt find any evidence of repairs. and yes your description fits my observation , marantz does sound very warm and silky , but its not the purist oriented ,by default . but all who hear it ,they love it , only a small percentage (2%[]) can take out its shortcomings ....and that too only after an A-B comparison with another better amp. []
  17. a good separate power amp / pre-amp combo should out perform a good integrated amp. again sandy , i had a different experience . the A1 has been superior in its handling and detail, sweetness at the HF and warmth than my old and gold QUAD 303 .pre power and its pre amp 33. i was amazed , that A1 was actually superior to ths unit even !!![]
  18. "underpowered for most modern loudspeakers. The 36watt/chan. (clas A) A1 integrated amp probably has more punch, which is probably why it sounds better" sandy ,maybe im wrong but i dont think 30 vs 36 watts is explaining the difference . its the componentry and circuitry that is perhaps more simpler and linear in A1 causing it to sound rather cleaner and accurate yet very very sweet and warm at the highs . before that, i thought marantz 2230 was the sweetest amp in the world ,period .!!! lolz . it sure is sweet but its far less accurate than than the other .
  19. No, they are not, nor will they ever be for sale! john chi-town said it and so does a thousand others who own fortes !!!! damn , where am i living !!!![:'(]
