  1. guys its my first post here in this section.

the fostex headphones that i purchased used, have a detachable cord . hence a socket that might be there to blame .theres been some loose connection.right speaker dies frequently with the turn of the wire . sometimes i have to fiddle with the wire at both ends alternatively to get the sound right .and oh yes i have tried brand new wires too. but the same happens. so its not the wire .

withdrawing the cord from the socket of the headset makes the sound equal in both speakers but stereo is lost , it gets mono and thrill is gone .

please help . i love these headphones .

  2. hein ?

low frequencies and bass , arent they the same thing .?

i guess what you are saying is that they both have extension of bass down to 37 hz in common keeping the punch and aplomb .

in addition 5s dig lower to 34 coz of taller cabinets . but in order to dig lower the speakers get to sacrifice sensitivity , and hence rf 5s are less efficient at 50 through 150 hz. and give you the impression that 3s have greater bass .

to me bass is anything below 150 hz or strictly speaking any sound below 100 hz and mid bass is 150 to 400 hz .

as i observed forte IIs getting 32 hz of lows. thats pretty amazing , coz it is even lower than chorus IIs, which are way bigger in their footprint and cabinets and driver sizes , but hey they are 101 dbs then.

but owners of both would tell you that figures dont matter much below 40 hz . bass is felt as bass even with chorus . you cant be wrong .

let me tell you my first audition of RF7s .

i went to this shop where they had a few klipsch speakers the RF7s being the biggest there .they had RF82s, the RF 25,RF 10s and the heresy IIIs.and ow yeah there were the RF83S and the synergy F3s too but in the upper floor alone .

    so i got to listen to 7s and 82s and 25s .

i had with me my experienced audio enthusiast (my guru)cousin and the favourite bass loaded CDs .

we played with denon and marantz amplifiers .

and yes a yamaha DSP amp was there too .

there were other integrates too, the JAMO . the ONKYO and a NAD.

to me the sound from the JAMO best mated with the klipsch .followed by marantz then denon then nad .

perhaps nad was better than denon coz it was stereo ,not dts .yet despite that the jamo and marantz were very solid performers at stereo.

to me the bass never touched my sould even through the 7s.

    i was in dismay .

it was a bad feeling that those 10 inch dual woofers couldnot blow us out of the chair through 100 watt amplifiers thrusting them .

then we realized that we needed a sub.

and as he turned the 15 inch sub on half way there was this sound fulfilment in the room as we had loathed .

    the refs needed a sub.

we got home and we analysed our 1 hour audio session . and my guru said that the room acoustic were to be blamed .

they were very reflective and had cancellation issues .

thats why it wasnt a satisfying sound even at 110 dbs .

this was 2 yrs ago .

and to me , a sub isnt needed at all. except for that earthquake type visceral feeling when it comes in movies.

for music 32 to 42 hz rated speakers are all good , provided the room is well matched for audio.

music should be real . not artificial as it does tend to become with subwoofers cranked up.

thats simply because we are increasing the dbs between 25 hz and 80 hz , where the speaker itself is deficient and the sub excels .

i hope im just typing this all , and now realising that you must be knowing it all.

therefore i just call it a day and look forward to hearing from you soon. adios . tc subxero.

  3. i have used the jvc super digifine axz911 integ amp for over 6 months , but it seems i cant decide which one should do with my living room setup . can anyone tell the intricate differences that these two amps exhibit . id like the oomph and detail through movies and music alike . the speakers ill be using are kenwood LS 707 m , towers .my room is 13x 27, . speakers placed with the longer side , plenty of bass produced using my previous sony ta av 570 .

i have used the super digifine jvc axz 911 but i think it wont stand its grounds for a single second compared to these two newer monsters from denon or marantz . its time for a change . the speakers are 88 db . 170 watts 8 ohm nominal . .

plz advise ....and highlight the sonic signature of the two amps apart ?

  4. hey ironsave...

before i bought the MF a1 , I was told that they had sooooooperbbbbbb matching with klipsch Heresys. and i wish i had em for my own on-hand experience .[:(]

i was skeptical about its match with the RF3s at home , but surprising me ,so far no other amp has been as satisfying than musical fidelity a1

  5. guys guys guys ...hold your horses...

iv been reading it all life , that separates sound better than recievers and integrateds ,perios..... ofcourse but theres not much difference now is it , considering the price differences .

i did own and keep a power amp by mitsubishi DA-A7 and its pre amp DA-P7 .

but it had no beefiness to rock my speakers , perhaps it was designed to sound very very very accurate and thin...

    just like SET amps.

i wanna rock those kenwoods ,dudes. with oodles of power and bass headroom.

  6. guys i have a living room which harbours a prologic sony TA-AV 570, amp,BUT i have no serious issues with it .

it has a remote , thats why its very user friendly and is 80 watts in stereo hence powering up a pair of KENWOOD L707M tower speakers 88 db , is not an issue for this amp.

it sounds not quite as good as my others ,( low wattage and usually stereo vintage amps, much older) .

im kinda bored of this sony .

can you advise a good one to replace it .

    the following terms apply ....

the amp you advise should be

    1) cheap, ($200-500 )

    2) deliver good sound for movies 70%,music 30%

    3) powerful and simple .but remote controlled .

    thanks

  7. i would always advise my friends to find a slightly used model of a bigger ,heavier car like a mercedes than to buy a brand new light weight car, suzuki or corolla ( and dont be fooled by the foolish warranty offers and after sales services .)

one should just buy it and forget it .

USE IT USE IT USE IT AND ABUSE IT .

and when its damaged or worn out , just throw it away .

why not do a little homework and get a solid thing that should last a better time n which should give more ecstacy and exhileration than just a new gear in the market with claims of after sales service and yet not reaching up to the same quality level .

take for instance a corolla and a mercedes .

id rather take the pains of maintaining a mercedes and enjoy it all along rather than buying a new corolla and live with the warranty false claims ..

    sorry if i sound rocky

  8. coming up with a thread is like coming to a stage and facing a crowd .

you have no idea what the crowd has for you . some may startle you with applause if they agree to your ideas . others may smash your nicely shaved face and perfumed dressing ,with tomatoes or eggs .

but it does take longer than stage to figure out peoples attitudes and what way they are inclined ...

but heck, you gotta say what you gotta say ....

    [:D]

  9. LO-FI..........you wana crank it loud enough to impress others but it distorts big time and dies .

MID-FI ....... it blows you and it blows the passersby without loudness and oomph , bass and shrillness, but its hardly accurate ,its got IM(what was that thing called internal modulation , perhaps )

HI FI ............ so accurate ,so life like , only you are the audience mostly and enjoying the true ESSENCE of musik glued to the sweet spot . [:D]
