  1. So I can't figure out, what exactly is a Cornwall. What I mean by this is, is a Cornwall II just called a Cornwall. I ask because when you go to klipsch product archives, for the Original Cornwalls, they show a pic of some weird speaker that looks like a table or cabinet, it definately does not look like Today's Cornwall III or the Cornwall II. My thought is that after the original Cornwall, they came out with what we know today as the Cornwall, but named it the Cornwall Also, even thought the look changed, but they don't show it on the klipsch website. I believe it is in between the original Vintage Looking Cornwall and the Cornwall 2. I think this is the Cornwall some have deemed the Cornwall 1.5 which we generally just call the Cornwall, this is because I notice that one Cornwall has a frame around the tweeter and midrange (Cornwall 2 I believe) and Cornwall 1.5 has no frame around tweeter. I've tried to do some research and this is what I think is going on, but please clarify for me. Also if you could tell me what are the different type of components used between the Cornwall models. Also is there any consensus on any model being better than the other, or how they rank. Thanks.
  2. Ok they are KG 2.2's and klipsch quartets. The sub is the KG SW. Good job to the guy who got it right. You know your stuff. I got everything for $350, also got a video acoustic center channel. Never heard of that before. Anyway how do the Quartets compare to the forte's.
  3. These are posted on craigslist in my area for $400 and I'm wondering what they are. The guy doesn't know. I think it's 2 kg 4 with 2 kg 2.5's, but i'm hoping they are klipsch forte's with the 2.5's. he's also selling the sub, which I have no idea what it is, and a center channel. He said he bought as a bundle 15 years ago. Any idea anybody. Thanks.
  4. I currently have no center channel and am tired of listening to my HTIB center channel. I can either wait around for a single Hersey or a cheap pair or I can purchase a Heresy 2 for $125 to use as the center channel for my Heresies. What should I do? Is the sound difference that noticeable that when playing surround sound Dobly Music I would be like man that Heresy two sounds different? How close are they in sound? Being that it's being used as a center channel would the diff even be that noticeable? Please Advise Thanks.
  5. Just the man I want to talk to. Hey I currently have 2 Heresies as Fronts in my HT system. I currently have no center channel because I sold my KT-LCR in order to buy a Heresy Center Channel. I can't get my hands on a Heresy center but I can get a Heresy II. How do you think the Heresy II compares to the one. Do they matchup Well? Can you tell the difference? What does timbre mean? The main reason I wanted the heresy center channel was for multichannel music. But I know it will be great for my HT setup. I'm very excited. Your system looks incredible. Oh as side note I have an MFW-15 AV123 subwoofer and I think it matches my Heresies for 2 channel music quite well and it sounds awesome.
  6. nope it's not the academy, wish it was, they cammand lots of money, there is one posted on ebay now for 350.00.
  7. Wow odyssey you just boggled my mind. Your statement just made me realize that the center channel I have is exactly that, it must be the acadamy, because it looks just like what you showed me. I thought it was a KT-LCR, but the emblem on the grill on the speaker I have is horizontal to speaker, like the acadamy and not vertical like the KT-LCR. If I really do have the Academy and not the KT-LCR then I don't really think that the academy matches all that well with the heresies. Are the Academy and KT-LCR essentially the same speaker. It matches ok, but when I go from Stereo to Multi channel music, I can tell that the Academy does have the projection and high end of the Heresy.
  8. Every center channel I have used does not match well with my Klipsch Heresies, so my question is would I be better served using another Heresy as a center channel. When I'm listening to movies and I'm using my center channel lately a KT-LCR I don't really notice a difference. But when I listen to Multi channel music, the klipsch heresy are always projecting sound very well, and the tweeter provides great clarity and that extra high end to the music. However the center channel always sounds different no matter what center channel I use. Most center channels just seem to lack the clarity as well as the good projection of sound. It's not to say the KT-LCR is not a good center channel, it just sounds different than the heresies. When I listen to 2 channel on the heresies it's pure bliss, know I want my multi channel music to sound like this. So are there any disadvantages in going with a Heresy as a center channel. Also, are there any other center channels out there that match the Heresies well?
  9. I just don't get how people can say not in the same class and they pretty much have the same tweeter and midrange. The mids and highs are exactly the same right.
  10. Now I know alot of people hate vs threads, but I recently sold my La Scalas and replaced them with decorator heresy's. My room is 23X13'. I actually think the Heresy's sound better. The soundstage sounds bigger and separation of high's mids and lows are more pronounced. So what I'm wondering, is this because of the fact that maybe the La Scalas were too big for the room, or is it the fact that for the last week I've been using polk M20 $100 bookshelf speakers as fronts and my judgement has been clouded. Even my girlfriend said they sounded better than the La Scala's. Also the Heresy's have the Alcino tweeter, does that really make a difference.
  11. Yeah I think I'm going to paint them with a gloss black. But they do look awesome in birch. After listening to them I just have to paint them.
  12. I just bought a pair of decorator series klipsch with a birch finish and I was thinking of painting them black, but I feel so bad painting a rare pair of speakers, so my question is do you think I should just paint or is it possible that I could maybe trade them for a black pair with someone who would be willing to offer up $100 and a trade. Or maybe these speakers aren't really as special as I think they are. They were made in 1977 and I think that means they have the Alcino in them.
